QuoteThe notebook I've bought doesn't seem to have a program as the old Toshiba notebook had for reducing brilliance. There are usually hardware keys for that matter (brightness most often looks like a sun). They go together with the key (often in blue or the like, lower left corner). Please have a look at the manual...

Hi, I'm using a custom skin, that's located in my profile. Yesterday, I decided to get rid of the main icon and so I removed it from the skin. But instead of showing the default green lizard that's included in the exe K-Meleon used main.ico from the Phoenity skin in it's application directory (slightly bigger and more green lizard). After removing the icon there, too, it wo

In IE I use and so do I in K-M. But you can change this shortcut or add & if you want to (in accel.cfg).

Should be possible (or at least, it was, when I tried it ages ago). Just look for *.s and a *.w files in the profile directories and replace them in the other profile.

QuotekkoQuoteraHear, hear. So let's ask Big Brother who's trying to fool whom: In Version 5 of the page I (ra) added the whole actual content of the page = the bugs, with more than a dozen of them, including three in a section called "Macros bugs (probably)". In Version 6 you (kko) added comments on the relevance&validity in your opinion of some of these bugs. In

QuotekkoAlright, just remember WHY Dorian asked to report bugs to the wiki. To save his time! That implies that we only report bugs to the wiki that have to be fixed by him. Macro bugs do not belong to this category. That's why I've pleased everyone to report macro bugs (or what you hold for that) to the forum instead. This also saves my time. When you nevertheless report a macro bug to

Well, in my terms, a macro bug is a bug in a piece of code written in the macro language. That's my responsibility. Dorian won't care until I assign such problems to him (e.g. in case the plugin needs to be fixed). The wiki is not the BTS. Dorian asked to report bugs to the wiki. I categorized them. That's not assigning nor did Dorian say that he won't read the (two) report

Hi, is there an update in the meantime to fix QuoteThe save (image) as directory is not always remembered. In most cases it is, but not always. (With several windows open changing the directory in one window doesn't always change it for the others.). Update: Works flawlessly if the macros plugin is disabled. as reported here http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KMeleon11? This pro

I know this warning from Firefox. Just upload a large file somewhere and it will bug you. I have to use IE for such things because FF often locks up afterwards. (No K-M allowed there.)

There's some inconsistency in menu vs. key/mouse shortcut behavior on http://www.skeedz.com/wallpaper.php. Usually, right clicking on links and choosing "open in background window" does the same as holding and ing on the link. Not here. Right click on an image and "Open in background window" opens the link in a new background window. Fine. & opens a new back

QuotekkoThe term 'menu root' does not appear anywhere in the menus.cfg tutorial (but in the macros reference). That's why I don't understand why you wanted to 'call' (?) it. I wanted to remove a main entry from the menu. The tutorial says QuoteTo add or to remove a menu item, you have to add an exclamation mark (!) in front of the parent menu's name So the par

QuoteDoes the crash report contain the sites I visited? How can I open the dmp file? I'd like to know that, too! QuoteSomebody said something about the mouse cursor dissapearing while loading a web page, but probably it was his own problem and not a K-Meleon related problem. Might happen when the gestures plugin is loaded. Happened here several times as well. It's close to i

You're mixing up menus and macros here! (Perhaps read the tutorial again.) No, I'm not. I knew it was about s.th. else (macros in this case), but I tried it never the less, because I didn't know how to call the menu's root, because When you want to modify a menu using menus.cfg, you only have to know that menus name. The main menu's name is "Main". That&

Quotekko@ra: Your arguments do not convince me. But, I fear, I cannot convince you either. I admit, that the advantage of the new behavior isn't as obvious as I thought. Yep, I'd have two new window buttons in my setup then. QuoteSo, I'll restore the old behavior. Thank you!

Thanks a lot kko! After some tweaking it works great (first method's enough)! It was probably too obvious, but I didn't succeed when I tried it back then because I didn't know how to call the root of the menus. At some page of your site you're mentioning just an empty string with a ! in front and that didn't work. Now, that I know it, it was just the simple word "

A bump right after a day..? ;-/ Try without the macros plugin. The macros plugin is a major slow-down for K-Ms interface. It's impressive how much faster K-M feels when it is disabled.

K-M 1.1 will allow default menus with custom changes in cfg files in the profile (upgradeability). Now, I reported three things that don't seem to be possible after I had looked into kko's FAQ. I can accomplish what I wish to do for sub-menus, but not for main menu entries like in my examples, yet kko says it works for him. So, now, how? Quote * Re-/Moving menu items with m

Is the following a change and is it by design? When something is selected I'm missing open link in new window / background window in the right click context menu when I right click on a link on the same page (that link is not neccessarily part of the selection). In order to be able to continue regular surfing I first have to de-select the item...

Alright, mine are in. QuotekkoI've observed this too. But only with this forum here. Seems to happen when the page is not responding. Nothing serious... It is serious. Thanks for you update, Dorian. Should bugs be reported that can't be reproduced easily? I'm trying to nail down a stalling problem that I have with this 1.1 alpha, but I think I can't. K-M is just doing nothing for several seconds (20-30), no progress while loading pages in any window visible (and no data transfer either!), and then it progresses fine. It might happen only if on

QuoteraThe save as directory is not always remembered. Looks like K-M remembers the directory after the *second* file that was saved after opening the browser and several windows (and not the first saved file like it ought to).

Mmh, I think I had an easier time building the 'regular' version and not the debug build with VC6 at the time I tried it.

An old (and fixed) macros bug has somehow returned in this version: The save as directory is not always remembered. In most cases it is, but not always. Don't have a 100% repro, yet, but the problem's there (With several windows open changing the directory in one window doesn't always change it for the others.).

QuotekkoYes! That's nothing new. This time e.g. JavaScript 1.7. (Besides that: For FF it's a major version update) Well, okay, so, now, they do things like that. They didn't with Gecko < 1.8 IIRC.
