Hi, I'd like to build a macro that downloads files from file1 to file9 and saves them to the harddisc. Unfortunately calling ID_SAVE_LINK_AS(<url to file>) is not supported by K-M, so I tried some workarounds. Here is a toy example to illustrate the problem: download stuff { $linkIdx = "http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/gfx/shot"; $ext = ".png"; $i=3;

Great! I'm looking forward to an even faster K-M - with all the other browser getting faster, it's good to see that K-M is not left behind.

Any updates on this topic? When can we test a complete package, even if it's only alpha or beta?

Quotedesga2This work fine to me to search one word. On another computer it works for me as well, but not on this particular one. But I don't know what's different on this one. QuoteWhat K-Meleon version are you using and what Windows version? K-M 1.5.3 and Windows XP SP3 + updates. QuoteIt's posible that you have defined some nick in Bookmarks identical to the word search

Thanks for your replies. That checkbox was already checked and Google is selected in the drop down list. And it works if I enter more than one word, but doesn't if there's only one searchword. Any more things I can try/check?

Um, white text on white ground or is there a hint on that webpage?

Hello, at my desktop computer I can search from the address bar even if I only enter one word. On the notebook I only get "http://test/" for "test". Which option do I need to change, so I get "http://www.google.de/search?q=test" just like on the desktop?

A direct shortcut would be &&; but you can add a customized button yourself if you like to.

Hi, what's the best way to stop those annoying layer ads sneaking in from all sides on certain pages? Is there s.th. simlar like flash block for such ads? That would enable the user to view the ad if he wanted to, because even legimated sites use them sometimes. I know there are several Firefox extensions, but I'm not aware of a proper way for K-M. Thanks!

@JamesD Thanks for trying to reproduce the problem. Can you please try again with maximized windows, only? @all Are there any particular setting (possibly) related to that behaviour that I could post here or set back to their original values (through deleting?)?

Yes and no. You have it if you have more than one window with tabs open - a scenario which isn't that unlikely.

Well, yes, there was a change, so the bug was partly fixed, but not completely. When I closed the browser maximized it comes back maximized, so that's fixed, but the windows won't be maximized if I load a session that had maximized windows before. Or if session resume is on, none (or only one? - need to re-check this) of the windows will be maximized...

Now that's strange. I've got that problem on four computers (2*XPSP3, 1*XPSP2, 1*Vista), each of them with 1.5RC. On three of them tabs are on, on my main computer they are off. Every system is set up to use a certain profile with profile.ini and every profile is from some earlier version (1.5a/b I think). The Privacy plugin is always disabled, update checker as well. Sometimes automati

When I read about getting ready for 1.5 final, I'm wondering what's with the maximizing bug that was introduced (and reported) during 1.5 beta. Example repro steps: Have several maximized windows open, choose File - Exit. Open K-M again (automatic session resume is off, but this is buggy in this aspect as well), make sure you have a maximized window, open Sessions - Load session - P

JFYI: This is a known problem, reported in the wiki months ago. Too bad it's still around, but hey, XP is better anyway. The only thing I missed when switching back is start menu search and therefore Launchy is a better alternative. :-)

RFE = Request For Enhancement (IIRC), meaning basically submitting a bug in K-M's BugTackingSystem expressing the wish to add such a feature to the developer(s). It's always good to open a bug for feature requests (and "real" bugs, of course), so the feature can be tracked and gets noticed (forum messages are cluttered and there's much noise around).

Anyone willing/wanting to sumbit a RFE for native support in K-M without additional programs?

QuotekkoQuoteraIf the dialog would clearly state that pages often won't look like they should with this user agent string, I don't see a problem in providing them, but benefits. What dialog do you mean? Paranoia-tab in preferences. Either write it directly near the user agent string or make a pop up dialog when someone chooses IE. Then there's no point anymore in removing the I

Hi, QuotekkoQuoteraHas anyone else problems closing the browser with && with many tabs or windows open? For me, that doesn't work and afterwards the browser crashes. Working fine for me. Might be OS related. Is it only with the accel or also with the menu (File > Exit K-Meleon)? It's also with the menu. Happens with XP SP2 window only mode, and with XP SP3 with tabs on.

Has anyone else problems closing the browser with && with many tabs or windows open? For me, that doesn't work and afterwards the browser crashes. BTW: Is Backspace scheduled to return in 1.5 gold to go back one page when you're not in a textbox/form?

Thanks everyone involved for the new build! So far it looks much more stable than beta 1 (which crashed a lot!) for me. But I'm missing the button in preferences to open the dialog to manage which sites I set to accept cookies forever/session and which I don't. Where is it?? (Privacy plugin is disabled.) BTW: When will the native, non-xul preferences return? Edit: Okay, fo

@desga_2 I simply want a new window (like &), just like you did get previously, neither a new tab nor a new instance. A (double)click on the shortcut or k-meleon.exe does nothing in 1.5a2 .. that's a bug.

K-M doesn't open a new window anymore when I click another time on the shortcut to start the exe, like it did previously. Has this already been reported?

Hi, I'm trying to get s.o. to use K-M. The person told me that she won't use anything that looks different than IE6 as that is what she is used to. So, now, what's the best, most identical looking and "feeling" IE6 skin for K-M (1.1.x) that's out there? IE6 is gone from my system for a long time now so it's difficult for me to tell and there are probab

@kko: thanks, enabling/disabling tabs fixed the bookmark nicks. Now, if all the bugs I reported to the wiki were as easily fixed...

Bookmark/hotlist nicks are broken once again: In windows only mode one single bookmark, I think the last one, opens, and that's it. Any chance for a hot fix or is there a possible tweak for my configuration?

Thank you very much for your detailled reply, desga2! Works great now. The last lines of the code were the missing pieces. For anyone looking for the same thing, here are two changes based on desga2's last posting, that I'd recommend: a) change the logic to truly reflect what's going on or enabled/disabled: ==true instead of ==false and ?0:1 instead of ?1:0 b) remove the too
