No, "about:newtab", the equivalent for Gecko browsers, is not available in K-meleon.

Windows 2000 as you already know :P - No crash with right click - No crash saving pages and images I'm not actively testing this version, just when you update something and I took the opportunity to test this too: - working certificate window in 74 GRE31u1 (didn't test without the update) (you may remember that window that didn't work the OK Cancel buttons when signing)

Are you aware of a decent filtering proxy that can handle compressed headers? Nop. No idea, sorry :/

That's kind but really no need to do it for Yogi. :) I have no clue about programming and I'm no IT expert but at least I can still handle myself pages I don't want and prefer to do so outside the browser. But who knows, maybe in future whith HTML6? Filters based on HTTP headers are already in trouble with Google's SPDY. Otherwise facebook & co might be essential for other users and I won

I know it is annoying, but only want to point again that they are harmless. True is that if you "don't visit" (directly) a site is annoying seeing how they are being added; but them added has the benefit of force browser to use SSL and don't fallback to plain text or start the connection with the domain in SSL instead plain text when you don't type the https prefix. By the way, I t

Mozillazine is not up to date nowadays, even being a wiki. I don't know you, but when I search for an explanation for new features I end very often in the developer pages of Mozilla :/ About updates and predefined lists :-? I don't think K-meleon auto-updates it or it has a predefined one. At least in a fresh profile it only has the permission addons.mozilla.org with install type permissions

I'll resume all in one thing: use the sqlite manager extension. Why I talk about HSTS. Have a look to the tables inside permissions.sqlite and you'll understand. I'm not mixing things with the POODLE (TLS/SSL problem). You could see this in a very easy way in the past current versions in Seamonkey with the included Data Manager. In some ways, the add-on link you provided is similar to

But this one won't avoid to set HSTS permissions. It is just a permissions.sqlite editor but more friendly than Sqlite manager. The only way to avoid is to set in the hosts file the domains you don't like to "knock knock" to.

Don't forget also scripts calls. Another method to set HSTS or cookies. When the browser requests scripts from those sites from a third party site, you are calling their servers, and in the HTTP headers also come cookies and HSTS. Not necessarily an iframe, thinking about it... ;) We are caught with every step :P

If you mean the sts/subd and sts/use permissions, are automatically added and, if I recall correctly, were by http headers telling that the domain must use ever secure access and at what levels of the domain. How is it possible that they add even you "don't visit" them? Easy. Do you know those "Like", "Tweets" and other widgets you see on the sites? Most of t

Probably cipher error as they are requesting a handsake with it unavailable in the client side. Does K-meleon 1.6 have these ciphers? ECDHE-RSA-RC4-SHA ---- for google.com ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA ---- for mobile.twitter.com I had the second in the prefs from 1.6 as false in my old installation. I couldn't find the other.

Do you know what is sad? That after I read you I checked my bank site and if SSLv3 is disabled it doesn't work. Should be the first on fix it and they (banking) are the latest http://s19.postimage.org/bhdrbxk27/facepalm.gif

IMHO there is no point in setting security.tls.version.min to 1 or higher. Because than You have no security on pages that are exploitable but where nobody currently tries with the tricks described. It has much point. From now, the responsability in how response the server is in the server admins. If SSLv3 is insecure, we shouldn't let them connect. It's true that in the next weeks

Guenter, the problem aren't the ciphers, it is the protocol. Please, all, leave the ciphers as default.

You are not correct. What you are posting are ciphers. The default min version for security version is SSLv3 in K-meleon. Change the preference security.tls.version.min to 1 to avoid using SSLv3. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Security.tls.version.%2A EDIT: bold text to highlight.

Google, but used as kind of proxy for privacy purposes, is StartPage.com from the same people as ixquick.com (but this one uses more search engines together in the results). But even StartPage.com is the same as Google, sometimes results are filtered (and I don't mean safe search). I don't know exactly why this happens. Maybe the proxy used.

SQlite manager Extension to open webappsstore.sqlite: http://kmext.sourceforge.net/km74/ Maybe you haven't found a site that requires it, but there are a few, starting with Google in a simple services as its search engine (to display some submenus (I don't know why they do this but it is a shit)). You'll amaze the stupid things they store there... Also, you don't need to disable it with

When I said Flash with 3D capabilities I'm not meaning a new Flash player but the actual Flash Player which with the latests versions is improving more and more its 3D capabilities if you read the beta pdf release notes it is mentioned sometimes :) Also I didn't say Shockwave was abandoned but quite abandoned in favor of the newest Flash 3D capilities or AIR. For example, since about 2011 whe o

I only want to say that you should check this thread on the second Tuesday of each month and check against the adobe version check site. If it match go for it. I won't post as long as gils does to avoid double posting of the same version. Gils don't hear our requests of "beta marking" the posts, so... we can't do anything else but follow the above guidelines. Oh, about Shockwave

The case of Amazon is exactly this: a lazy webmasters that doesn't set the favicon, but then comes the browser to show it.It's not just Amazon. Hardly any of the sites I visit don't show favicons without the fix you provided. Yes, that is what is sad. There are a lot of sites like Amazon that lack of the favicon link in the html code. When I use Firefox 31 to browse I see a lot of favi

Frankly I don't care how it works, as long as it works ;-) If you don't care about breaking the web ;) Or webmasters not doing its job because browser does for them. And then we blame them for other things as don't recognize K-meleon... I don't like things doing what shouldn't do because in absence of favicon (in this case), let's use the backdoor :/ The case of Amazon is exactly t

40Mb is not small, that's for sure. Those in the snapfiles search are nearest to my concept of tiny. It was an old application. I'm talking about 10 years ago, if not more. Now I'm not searching for it. I was just saying that it was a shame I can't remember it because could make a "professional" file making look better the help file (and I'm not saying you did a bad work on it), ju

Playing and playing, as it needs a restart... it is this: browser.chrome.favicons That preference is set as false by default in K-meleon (playing fair). If you want to go other browsers path (not playing fair) set it to true. Why I insist in playing fair? Imaging a web developer that removed the favicon for any reason from the html code but didn't remove the icon file from the server

I already made searches, but it wasn't one of those. It was kind of a custom tiny application to make simple help files. It was referenced in a help file itself pointing "this html file was made with XXXXX". I can't remember that XXXXX. Kind of tools like appear in sites like nirsoft.

The problem is that it isn't exactly a bug. The other day I found it, but I don't remeber what exactly was involved (fish memory). Anyway, why I said it isn't exactly a bug? because probably you have seen the icons in other browsers and those browsers aren't playing fair. Amazon, the example you gave, hasn't a meta favicon descriptor in the html. In other words, isn't telling the browser

I updated the initial post of this thread with an updated file as I corrected typos in the Readme.txt http://www.emoticons.free.fr/smileys/Default/blush.gif and your screenshots. I didn't include the screenshots in the file to avoid any kind of confussion. I bet someone decompress them in the macro folder, even the readme instructions. The readme wasn't professional just as those that are in

But perhaps I should predict you, next thing will be that someone comes and wants a standard-kmext-7z with folder structure inside :D I bet for it. It's so hard to open a zip file and to read the Readme ;) Attached with readme changed.

Didn't you say to remove version number? :) I didn't know 1.7 had the same pre-enabled javascript requirements as 74 GRE 31 :-? I have some alpha here what I played with it just a few minutes... time ago. What exactly to add to the readme, the whole header? If not, paste here what you consider will be best. I changed the filename, the header, the script itself with a few improvements and the readme. Don't pay too much attention to the zip filename it is for our versioning tracking. The filename inside is DocInfoMore.kmm. The header now is as follows: # UTF-8 / K-Meleon Macros (http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?id=MacroLanguage2) # ---------------------- DocInfoMore.kmm --------
