The trick is that mouse full page zoom works fine while keyboard or menu call leads to crash. exception: (0xc0000417) address: 0x78b2ae6e. And zooming text only or image only doesn't crash also anyway.

Bugreport: zooming all page still crashes KM even under Win 7 (also XP approved). Moreover, I have one more report from russian user that reloading KM with previous session drops all the zoomed pages to default 100%.

Happy to read this. But at least three russian users gave me the similar feedback about RAM usage under 8. And my own test was also 'positive' for bad RAM handling. Try to open several (3-5) 'heavy' pages and compare such a session in RAM terms between KM and FF. In 7 and earlier KM always beats FF for about 30-45% in RAM saving. In 8-8.1 they use comparatevely equal RAM even with some le

Yes, PM partly fixes this issue and it's temporary 'postbox' to start communication through other channels, so 10 is enough for every same time.

I shell tell you about my research in ABP-case: First, I've got into obviously used parts as xul- and js-files (adblockplus.*; and in current case - pageinfo.*) Not all dependencies were discoverable that way though. Second technique was to create clean profile in '74+1', open KM with 1 tab and use needed function. Than close KM and look into startupCache folder under Profiles\xxxxxx.

New thread devoted to additional chrome parts from Gecko that could be adapted for KM (like naruman did in his '+1' builds). So, where are you, naruman? :O First point is attempt to add 'pageinfo' and 'newtab' modules, that were already in naruman's last build. The target is to get them working into standard KM's architecture like regular 'inbuilt' parts. JamesD, there isn't problem her

about:memory in K-Meleon says that it cannot show all the RAM really used so it doesn't do it in fact. WARNING: the 'heap-allocated' memory reporter does not work for this platform and/or configuration. This means that 'heap-unclassified' is not shown and the 'explicit' tree shows less memory than it should. I use third-party RAM-metering utilities.

Not a particular case - but general observation made with KM 75 (any build) by all russian users who are reporting things in ru-net (I'm the only supporter for KM in russian domain now). Have you compared RAM consumption against Firefox (for example) in Win 8.1 and earlier Win versions? In general we all got the same: under WinXP-Win7 K-Meleon eats visibly less RAM then FF with the same p

sorry, guenter, but my ABP is already cut down about extra langs (I've used your method but leave 2-3 extra langs in comparison with current KM standard kit). The reason of oversize is the new modified omni.ja included in package (as I had no luck in adding ABP full features without it). My omni.ja is much smaller than original (good compression factor) but it still too big and thus full pa

Don't be worry: paradox of nowadays is that Win98 is the safest OS from all Windows in use :P Most actual malware just cannot run there ;)

Can you explain more about the 'PageInfo' and 'newtab' features you desire? Well the are just 2 more FF-inbuilt chrome-features, which were partly adapted by naruman in his "74+1"-build. 'newtab' is speeddial page for new tabs and 'pageinfo' is xul-window called from context-menu with a lot of information about content like this (click for fullsize): http://s6.postimg.org/me

I can't help much with JS, but I should say that all per-site permissions are handled in Firefox by new Permissions manager, available at about:рermissions No glue whether does it work or not, but you can open it and play with settings for your sites. They should be stored in profile's permissions.sqlite, I think. Cannot help more. If this doesn't have effect in KM - then we need Dor

As I understand, some 'version' info taken from region.properties file is copied into mimetypes.rdf. When 'version' number in prefs and rdf-file stop matching - new data is written to rdf and it gets unlocked. But I can't find the reason for locking though. Maybe Dorian can tell us?

clutterless, well... I was playing with 98's unofficial packs too. I've created KM Twin also. And I even tried to run KM 1.6 there on 98. But even so I'm bot an expert in your question as I hadn't use 98 for everyday job for years. All I can say is that speaking about compatibility with 98 all the 1.6-1.7 builds are just equal. Select what you like more. Every build has its own bells

don't use KM 1.8 - it was test unofficial build very outdated now. Upgrade to KM75RC2 with update2 - this one handles sessions much more better.

I cannot explain why KM locks mailto dropdown every time - while Firefox doesn't. May be someone more experienced in Mozilla hacking can.

Now we shell unlock chooser for mailto protocol handlers. 1) download file 'webprotocol.js' and save it to \browser\defaults\preferences 2) restart K-Meleon 3) open about:config page (type this address in URLbar or just run menu item Edit->Configuration->Browser Configuration) 4) press 'I'll be careful, I promise!' button to get into prefs 5) type 'gecko' in searchbox 6)

Well... Forget it all. That's how it works in KM 75 RC2: 1) type in URLbar about:рreferences Settings page will open. 2) select 'Applications' in menu on the left. mimetypes and protocols list opens 3) scroll down to the 'mailto' record 4) you can select Gmail in the dropdown list in right column like shown (image is clickable for fullsize): http://s6.postimg.org/leciqhq25/s

Note for my comrades involved in development of MIME editor: I found that RVJ can edit only parts of mimetypes.rdf applied to mimetypes not protocols (named 'schemes' in RDF). Being precise, procedure that's described above, DOES change parameter NC:alwaysAsk="true" in <RDF:description RDF:about="urn: scheme:handler:mailto" to "false" but you ca

Well, folks - aren't we so stupid as those who forget their own tools? RVJmimeedit works fine to handle this job. So, what do you need, Ralph, are the next steps: 1) download and install (unpack into KM folder) this archive with RVJmimeedit 0.6.3 addon prepared by JujuLand 2) *optional* save this macroextension written by siria (and posted there) into your 'macros' folder. 3) ope
