Im allgemeinen ja, nixdestotrotz sollten Fehler trotzdem gemeldet werden. Sonst merkts ja keiner und jeder denkt wär alles bestens. Von daher: nicht abschrecken lassen

And maybe I just re-invented the wheel, with my knowledge of macros :S and I broke my head until I found the answer for nothing :S ROFL - *exactly* my feelings everytime I struggle with javascript for AGES and then finally turns out half a line is the solution!! :D But the prob is always the scripts, not the macro. In general, after having finally found a working solution to return a value,

Hm, you're right it sounds complicated - but it really isn't ;-) Just saying: replace the imglib2.dll in your km/components folder! And be warned, the replacement is an older version with unfixed vulnerabilities, but what do if the newer one doesn't run on our system :-( Since I don't know where to find it on the web, have it uploaded for your test here: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/forum/

Am not sure if $OnOpenTab gets the URL already, because I tried that myself recently and didn't work - URL was empty :-/ Was on KM1.6, but not much hope that's different in newer KM. What works in $OnLoad, but of course that happens only after loading the whole page already.

Don't know a way to restrict shortcuts to links... but perhaps try anyway? If your macro has a condition for a $LinkURL, clicks should do nothing outside of links. Take a look at Edit>Configuration>Accels, there are examples for shortcuts. For left click just use "LButton". You can define it also in the macro file itself, but first I'd just test that way if a global leftclick-short

Hm, doesn't look too good... Did a search in my folder for that dll and found some notes. Seems the imglib2.dll in beta2.6 contains a vulnerability fix, but alas that one is not compatible with win98 anymore - or only not mine?? The previous one in beta2.5 seems the last working one, but at own risk, as always. Its date is 24-jun-2011, version 1.9.1.20pre. It must be replaced in the components fol

Very cool, great job! :) Did a quick search for that pref, and acc. to mozilla that number is a "version" number that must match the version inside the rdf-file, otherwise it gets written new or something... no idea if helps anything. Or perhaps, as a workaround, add a setpref(...) line to some macro? (e.g. below macroinfo-line)

Not much hope I'm afraid :( 1.8 was a special build and I don't know if it was still using the same session system as 1.7, but probably. In the official builds the session system was changed in KM75 (or 74?) and since then stores the addresses in a separate file. Look inside your current profile folder if there's some file named "session..."? If not, the old sessions worked like this

He'll say either KM1.6 beta2.6 by JamesD or his 1.6version with the additional chrome twin :D Forgot something: jujuland, a KM mod, has made a slim mini-version of that VisualC2005 (needed for 1.6). Can't remember for sure, but think I installed that one long ago, while the original MS version (link on download page) was either rather big or didn't work right or just because I prefer slim too

Did a quick search for gmail mailto, produces lots of results. Looks like html5 allows now much easier handling, just not sure what KM can handle. An example that sounds like may work via errorconsole, but no clue if true: http://updates.html5rocks.com/2012/02/Getting-Gmail-to-handle-all-mailto-links-with-registerProtocolHandler

Mostly yes, but to be honest, at least one really serious bug is still in 1.6: Quite often loading pages/scripts/videos cannot be stopped, despite all fiddling with settings, arrgh. Prefs may help sometimes, alas not always. Lousy workaround is to kill the online connection. Ah yes, and when the browser was closed off-line, it still claims to be offline after the next start, yet despite this lo

Yeah had forgotten it myself meanwhile too, but the fix was only to set the "cold" image correctly, that works. The side-effect is that "cold" also lands now on "hot"! This is with the old commands. Testcase is ABP version-6, still attached in second post above. The "new" macro-command works as it should, but looks like by design it needs now always AL

Cool, glad all works fine for you now :) And oops, had completely forgotten to consider that pref! After a few years you get so used to your own settings and forget they may not be default  Glad you found it anyway, which really isn't easy, rather hard to find that one!

Pheeeew... way too much work, rodo :( And the main prob is to keep all versions up-to-date, that's impossible. The wiki is rather outdated even in english, but the other languages are usually even some more years outdated, really bad! And readers aren't even aware of that. For localdocs, just as for the wiki, every webpage must be duplicated and fully translated in one piece. It's an independa

I'm still on 98SE too, it's my online machine. KernelEx works miracles :) But the compat mode must be XP, not win2000. At installation I chose as default setting "off", so kex is only active when I manually set it for a program. Tip: one trap everyone falls into sooner or later: after renaming the path to a program, changing folders etc., the kernelex-path is broken and must be set

setmenu("MyMenu", "command", "MyPopupItem",0); Hehe, neat trick :D Even works in KM1.6, and without the 0 at the end.

Just remembered - my linktoggle macro (in extensions forum here) creates a 4-line inline menu for selection context, each time you "toggle" a link and then highlight anything. And when clicking an item of that menu, or Ctrl+C, or after next page load the 4 lines in that inline menu are deleted again, one by one. The inline menu itself will remain there all the time, but being empty get

Whoa... no wonder you think it were horribly complicated  That said, about deleting POPUP menus I have no idea, may need some trick or perhaps not possible at all? INLINE submenus vanish if they contain no entries anymore, as you noticed too. I do like that menus don't need to be attached anywhere to still exist, that makes creation a lot easier, no preconditions for the first entry

Ah wait - a dim memory returns... could it be that KM75 can only set ALL pics with the old "SetButtonImage", not just the cold or hot one...? Must test again... Yes, still a bug :( Have used the "new" commands now, they require setting all images always too, no chance to change only "cold" etc., but seem to work. Have still left the old version in it too, togeth

Thanks rodo for all your hard work :) Had overlooked the translation of tooltips, not being used at all to need that due to lack of users. Just one little glitch now, one of the old macroinfo lines isn't commented out yet. And wonder if the word "GUI" couldn't be replaced by something less techy, perhaps "show bar"... but not sure. (Yes, mine was far more techy yet :D) if o

Perhaps a matter of taste, but yes, support this too, and guess it even was different in older KM versions and then got changed. And it's especially bad for Favorites and Hotlist, which seem just dead when left-clicking them. But in light of the menu bar now being off by default, it would really make a lot of sense to show the full menu now on left-click. Thinking about it... have researched

Not a bug, only a new setting to help speed. Actually not a K-Meleon invention but a genuine Mozilla setting, was introduced with Firefox (as I learned just yesterday ) Hopefully there will be a visible switch in the prefs in new versions. If not, no prob: type "about:config" in the adress bar or click Edit>Configuration>Browser Configuration. Ignore the warning. Find

Perhaps, as fallback for the worst case, add the "Tool&bars" menu to the page context menu, hoping this one will always be there...

Let people disable it if they want (probably easier than enabling...right click->disable). What I keep saying - it's easier to switch something OFF than to switch something ON when you don't even know it exists. That's why I'm really mighty glad the privbar is finally ON by default, after so many years :) (nag: just the Clear-functions should all get a confirmation, not just "clear all

Ah right... Looks like another victim of the "modern" minimalist skin fashion ;-) Well, if I guess right the buttons are now zoomed dynamically and this eliminates the need for skin variations... But still, just thinking: perhaps there could still be an optional variation, called Default(max)? Containing only a skin.js, which shows all toolbars? To give people a second chance to

Another possibility: perhaps accidentally off in View > Toolbars > bookmarks? Am not quite sure, but guess the pref only decides whether the toolbar is created or not. By default it's then visible of course, but can manually be toggled off. Do you happen to use the same profile for all installs or is it portable version?

The longer I think about it... Just fire as many "k-m.exe URL" commands as you have URLs. If the browser is set to use tabs, they will all open inside the same window and same session. Then again, jujulands idea is cool too. Hardcoded URLs inside the kmm itself, extremely easy to create and for you to manipulate!

Certainly possible one way or the other, with the help of your script and possibly a special profile. And perhaps a little KM macro if needed (or not), but may need some fiddling. Or perhaps a bat-file? So far just not sure about the "if needed" part or what would be the simplest in general, Dorian will hopefully tell more... Commandline options are here: http://kmeleon.sourcefo

My machine is used to 30-60 tabs (obviously with blocked JS and other heavy stuff), but then it starts going to the knees :D James, must admit my css-knowledge isn't really that much better than your own, just struggling along ;-) But OnLoad is fine, certainly ideal for that single line of zoom-code. If there's any prob for other macros with OnLoad at startup of RC2, a trick would work: use $
