Hi Folks: when surfing on facebook and clicking on a link that opens on the same page, you cannot go back to the same page you were before (physically it is, but the content has changed) as it has changes so much so that it si no longer the same page because it's filled with new things. Proposition to avoid that: some kind of "never open any link on the same page, but alwas open it in a ne

Other effective approaches to traffic minimization are: 1) content filtering (less connections are established and less data are downloaded) 2) improved caching First could be done in different ways with a number of tools: - filtering DNS servers (OpenDNS, FoolDNS, NortonDNS etc.) It seems to me that FoolDNS is the simpliest one with good filtering out all the scam (ads, trackes, webbugs,

I was over at the MSFN forum today and noticed this post about a new browser for Windows 95 and and NT4. I decided to try it on my XP setup and it works very good. It might be nice to have as a backup browser and it probably works OK on Windows 98. It is listed under ... Windows 9x Member Projects. In the comments ... people seem to like it in the early stage. http://www.msfn.org/board/top

Was müsste man im etwa machen, damit injectJS funktioniert?

Its ridiculous. The best app i found is old version of TweetDeck but Tweeter killed it. Why a old version? Becasue it had much more options setting. Now you can set nothing. Its impressive the power and control over the users that tweeter have right now. Ofcourse that the reason i never used tweeter, facebook or all these shits. Thinking in go to North Corea to live!!!!! So i found nothing to s

Just tried to use the dll from KM75.1 in KM1.6, but no luck: Errors, errors, errors,... And adding exceptions doesn't help :( Luckily this site https://www.digicert.com/sha-2-compatibility.htm claims that Mozilla supports SHA2 since FF1.5!! KM1.6 has the engine from FF1.9.xx, so it should keep working, if it's system independant. I hope... The bigger prob is probably that KM1.6 only supports

Just to not let you search too far: these unresponsive scripts do not reside directly on a domain with "facebook" inside the name, but on https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v2/... and further .../yo/r/HuurJiMc8fm.js:109 or .../yr/r/rGuyBeDf_aN.js:5 and so on. So it's not the same domain, but visibly shows to be one of the Content Delivery Networks of Facebook. And the conclusion must b

I've been playing a little the last weeks with subdocument permissions (permissions.default.subdocument) and also with script permissions (permissions.default.script), and I found that I was partially wrong with my thoughts about subdomain and third parties from my past experience. Using the example above, scripts.facebook.com won't be a third party to facebook.com, nor www.facebook.com. To

I admire your work and must confess that K-Meleon had the smallest memory footprint for infinite scrolling web pages such as Facebook and Twitter. But here's a challenge for me and you. I'm working on a research and am steadily monitoring FB and TW feeds over extensive periods of times. The way the pages work is that the page keeps on loading new/old content the moment you scroll down. This is

I'm now really fed up with an absolutely unacceptable behaviour: after having set the PC into sleep mode and then continueing to work after wake up, the CPU-charge is at 100% among that k-meleon consumes 99% ... and this for hours, just until you quit k-meleon. The PC is unresponsive and just not usable at that time. Any kind of keystroke takes seconds to minutes. The only solution would be to

Could it be that spammers are now even creating whole wiki pages?! >-( Wanted to finally add the foreign-language updates for KM75.1, and after a long absence took a look into the wiki again. And finding a whole new page among the Updated Pages: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/wiki/SearchLock IMO that is pure spam, and definitely does not belong there. It just links to Facebook. Anyone block/de

OK, found an example where not every image can be saved: http://likemag.com/de/6-karten-die-dein-weltbild-komplett-veraendern-werden The page is in german language, but don't care about that ... There are several types of images on that page: 1. the picture just below title bar (with the likemag-logo): a right-click opens a menu with the main k-meleon view options (forward, back, reloa

But concerning FaceBook: I wonder that with K-Meleon usually a "big long page" is loaded (with lots of entires), visible at the very thin scrollbar-mover, while with some other browsers loading is just as you scroll down (about 5 entries at once, making the page increase by scrolling down). Wow, didn't know that happens now. I just tested and a big bunch of entries are loaded at onc

Facebook issues are mostly connected with modern web-techs and support for them in browsers. For example, IE 8 (max for XP) doesn't support most of HTML5 and CSS3 techs. So the page using them will be shown without some things (important or less ones) - but it also makes less load on RAM and CPU, so your browser can run what it supports more quickly (Ex.: flash issue described by you). I am here on a Notebook with Pentium M 1700MHz and 1GB of RAM on Windows XP. While running MSIE (in fact, it's NetCaptor, a MSIE-Multitab-Surface, here with about 30 Tabs open), a flash video on FaceBook runs smoothly and you can watch everything; details are correct in time. JavaScript and ActiveX are mandatory to run flash video. On the other hand K-Meleon: same PC, same flash video, but t

Even what Siria is saying is true, have in mind that blocking third party doesn't work as you imagine. In a static site where all belongs to the same domain, third party is a subdomain. Example: www.facebook.com loading scripts from scripts.facebook.com and the rule set to block third party, won't allow scripts.facebook.com to load, although they are in the same domain. It is known that almost any browser has the possibility for cookie-settings to only allow cookies from the own (parent) website. How to do that with scripts? While surfing on facebook I often get the error of "script ... (residing at ...akamai...) is too slow! stop it?" How to set settings that when visiting facebook only scripts that reside at facebook.com are alloed and scripts r

Facebook bug was chasing me as KM engine was going outdated. It appeares unpredictably in similar assemblies - it can be present or can be not. I've tested fresh install of Pro - and all works fine it can post text messages but refuses to post links in comments here. I cannot identify real cause of this glitch. Just try fresh install or new profile. I'm lost with FB compatibility. Speakin

I found a bug. When i copy/paste some text in facebook comments and press Enter to post it, it can't be done. I can't even delete the text. Even pste it in notepad then on commnents it doesn't work. Typing it on keyboard it works. And another bug (not that important to me): can't see images in yahoo mail (body of email).

Welcome back Darnish :) You have a bit a funny way of expressing yourself, but if your name happens to have some additional hidden meaning we wouldn't know it anyway ;-) A tip, if you have really huge probs with bandwidth, you may also check out that beta macro with yet more blocking possibilities (if they work, perhaps most but not all ) http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,134990

Windows 10 is a horse out of control. If it only were Win10, sigh... And if it only were "out-of-control" accidentally instead of "fully intentionally by the megatrust-leaders"... Last week I've seen a quote of google's "fine-print": by using one of their services users AGREE that google has the official right to steal and abuse EVERYTHING the user ever store
