Thanks for the feedback. I just wanted to make sure that I'm not the only one who couldn't load those pictures and also that it's not some setting in KM that I got wrong. I didn't test with IE (that I never use), but I just tried again with FF and Opera, and the pictures load there with no problem. Maybe the guys who couldn't load them in their FF and Opera got some secur

On this page: http://baxbex.com/sp2.html, I can't view the sample pictures in full size within KM, but I can within FireFox and Opera. I've disabled all privacy settings and content filters, also AdBlock, but still can't load the pictures. Anyone can view those pictures within KM? The status bar, when you hover with the mouse a picture, says: "javascript: (newWindow)"

With Adblock ou can remove any picture (not just ads) and any persistent ad on a page individually (by rightclicking on the picture), and you will be able to remove ads that won't be removed by KM's generic adblocking. I rarely have to use it, but sure is a nice feeling to know I CAN block any nasty ad or even some unliked picture in any webpage (for instance some ads in a Web-based ema

Wow, thanks for reporting this. I just tried this out and found, you don't even have to copy the word, just highlighting (or doubleclicking) is enough. And search will of course be done with your standard search engine (I don't use Google anymore), or with any engine you pick from the search button's right click menu, right after highlighting. Really nice! :-)

I had problems deleting certain cookies via that method, too. But this method works for me: Tools > Privacy > Settings > Cookies. Pick any of the three options. Clear on shutdown works for me perfectly. Of course, this will always remove *all* cookies.

This test site might be useful, includes free and professional firewalls. Look'n'Stop (not free) is supposed to be the one with the lowest resources. Click on "View Results" on the bottom. Interesting test results of the reliability of all firewalls. Also description here of "Look'n'Stop" by the author of the site (scroll down to "4-Firewall"

Gotta add: I just checked Opera that has a minimize to tray plug-in too. It offers: Open Opera, Hide Opera (=minimize), New Tab, Bookmarks, Notes, Transfers, History, Exit. What I don't quite like about the FF tray icon is that it disappears anytime FF is opened. Would be better if the icon stayed and you can restore and minimize FF from the tray icon. But otherwise I use that extensio

QuotekkoMinimizing an application's window to the tray should actually be an option offered by the OS. Sure would be nice. Quotekko We already have the loader to keep km running in the background. What would be "some useful features in the context menu of the tray icon" in regard to km? Mmm... I can tell you what the FF extension that minimizes FF to the tray (MinimizeToTra

QuotekkoMaybe right click the Go button and choose Paste And Go? Yep, that's just fine. Thanks for pointing that out. LOL I'd prefer it in the address bar's right click menu though (seems to be a more logical place, or maybe I'm just used to it from Opera), but one can't have everything. QuotekkoThat's nothing to be addressed by a browser. There are separate too

Has anyone ever noted how convenient that feature in Opera is? You just "paste and go" a URL in the address bar via the context menu with one click. Seems Opera is again the only browser to have that feature. I think every browser should have it. It wouldn't mean adding much to the code either, I suppose. BTW, also minimizing the browser to the system tray should be standard wit

Requires MSI 3 (I hate to update Windows, just to make one single product work). After getting MSI 3 on an experimental XP installation, just to be able to install the little shit, it crashes any time I click within some menu. The use of the screen estate is simply idiotic. The top of the browser is hardly configurable and uses up so much space, I really can't imagine why someone would

Thanks Wladimir! Only just now saw your reply. Adblock works great now in PocketK-Meleon, too! That's some service! :-))

Thanks for the explanation. Could be I'll use the standard K-Meleon installation soon, as K-Meleon has been my standard browser for some time now.

Shouldn't there be an entry in the context menu (to pick the ad that should be blocked)? I don't notice any entry anywhere, though I followed the installation instruction here: http://adblockplus.org/en/kmeleon.

Confirmed!!! Actually, I was just about to mention it myself, when I saw your post. Usually, I have to navigate back from the blank page and click the link a second or third time till the page finally loads properly. It's only happening on this forum.

I seem to be missing something. That's what I did originally: I rightclicked on that link that you mentioned and added it to the bookmarks. There is then a new bookmark created with the value: javascript:void(location.href='http://tinyurl.com/create.php?url='+location.href) If clicked, this bookmark just brings up always the same TinyUrl for "about:blank". Maybe yo

It's not the same and not as convenient as with the add-on. When you just bookmark it, you have to click on the bookmark, then you get to the Tinyurl page, then you have to copy the link of the site you were on, paste it in the field and click the button on Tinyurl's page to produce the tinyurl. With the add-on (in Opera) you just click on the button you added to the toolbar and the

You need to get an external download manager (they probably all split up the file in mutiple segments which is the reason for the speed up of the download) that integrates with K-Meleon. Here's a list of those that work with KM: http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows4.html#FreeDownloadManager

TinyUrl macro/plugin needed! Shouldn't be to difficult to realize it. I found the feature to be quite useful in Opera where you can get it by just dragging a TinyUrl add-on button on Opera's toolbar.

Quotedoes the MS update page fall for that? Can't answer that. I never update or patch Windows or even visit the M$ sites. Waste of time for me and I don't feel I need it. ;-) Actually I use IE ONLY anymore because of KeePass and my one banking account. There's a special plugin (KeeForm) for KeePass that allows entering passwords on sites without even any "auto-typing&quo

Very nice and useful site! BTW, in case you didn't know yet: in Opera, when you go to the cookie settings and then click on the "Network" tab, you have two options of spoofing Opera as IE. The first one is to present it simply as IE, and if that does not work, there is the special option to "mask" Opera as IE. Then it really does not seem to get recognized anymore by any

It's just a surprise that the spoofed MS IE agent does not work there. The real IE itself works. Maybe the spoofing of the MS IE agent within K-Meleon is just not set quite correctly and could be improved.

Just in case someone might experience the same problem: I found out now what the real reason was that the rating feature in Google Groups didn't work with K-Meleon. It was not the "Block Frames" option as I first thought, but the choice of the User Agent. The two User Agents that block Google's rating feature are: MS IE 6.0 and Custom. The other User Agents (K-Meleon, Ne

Wish you every luck with your effort, kko. K-Meleon already has the best proxy handling of all browsers. Imagine changing the proxy in IE!!!! LOL Opera does have a quick switch for changing just to ONE additional proxy, but does not support any socks proxy. (And in FF the two extensions that are supposed to provide something similar don't work with the skin that I'm using and freeze

Ha!!! Editing I10n.js did the trick! 5 proxies now in the proxies list! Thanks so much, guenter! Now I can use even a local proxy (like WebWasher, Privoxy, etc.) from time to time when I feel like it. K-Meleon is fully on its way to replace Firefox for good. ;-) (what I explained about the socks4/5 proxy a bit awkwardly, simply put: when picking a proxy from the drop down menu, it only can wri

Hmmm... not as easy as that. Added two more proxies (nr.5 and 6) in both of the files you pointed out, also increased what looks to me like two "counters" ($n4) by two, to $n6, but the additional proxies don't show up. They also don't show in the about:config. Maybe it's not possible. Perhaps the guy who had the idea of that macro can still improve it a bit. For insta

You mean, when you hover with the mouse over the history window's borders you don't get that little double-arrow? I can draw the window with that arrow to any size. New size will only be saved when you exit the window with click on "OK", and not on one of the other buttons.

The proxy list for choosing between three proxies under "Tools" is really very convenient. Kudos to whoever had the idea of introducing this original feature! But would it be possible to add even more proxies by editing some file?
