A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. I'm using in this Windows 7 video the b) option explained above. A "correct" install: https://www.mediafire.com/?a8fa4ha38ddi2f5 First I deleted any Profile by deleting the profiles folder, second I start K-meleon, I change the preferences, I reopen K-meleon to show the result. Sorry if the video looks long. Try to record

Are you sure. Before post I even tested with a new profile and ever goes to the url set in home page... at startup... At 2k and XP SP2. No blank page at all if you select the marked option. By the way, it delays. I mean that the URL bar and the window itself doesn't change until the page is loaded. Maybe that is confusing you. Also I found now that reset the home page creates this mal

As it's been said that Add-ons are working (I haven't tested them because I know I will screw K-meleon installation) there is a complete extension for Firefox that you (or any capable) can try to adapt, Siria. The extension is QuickJava, even its name, has all the capabilities of privacy in K-meleon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/quickjava/ What I didn't check so far is if

I've found that the Profile Manager window delays a little (a second, a couple of seconds) for no apparent reason in a random way. Sometimes opens instantly and others delay. Confirm if you can.

Here's a screenshot of the "Icons in the Open/Save As dialog box being randomly changed to blank ones" issue: http://i.snag.gy/lSlNJ.jpg ... That happens to me in Windows 2000 because I need a wrapper for Shell32.dll, but in Firefox, not in K-meleon 74. Happening to you in Windows 7 with K-meleon 74 is rather strange. It could explain the neogaf icon issue too, because i

Guenter, seriously, from the first day I read that user was clear it was a spambot. If you read carefully the texts it writes, are partially legible because it takes portions from here and there to answer creating a nonsense explanations what makes unclear and bad "explanations" for newcomers, mixing results in the forum search and in external search engines, and, additionally, adds l

But it's not their fault. Look, this is the icon in a filmstrip format extracted with GifMovieGear (icon creator and animator program that I use "a little"): http://s19.postimg.org/3q8pfvlcf/neogaffavicon.png And I won't make more detail about it, but each icon in the ICL (icon library) is in 24 bit format (even using less than 256 color each) plus alpha. If you hide the title bar the K-meleon windows are set to be always on top and almost as full screen (no actually but covers all the screen), that's why the task bar dissapears. For me, hiding the title bar only covers the full screen if I have KM maximized. I am using 74 RC on Win 7. Also I don't understand the "always on top". If I click on window behind KM then that windo

Should be considered as a bug, I think. If you hide the title bar the K-meleon windows are set to be always on top and almost as full screen (no actually but covers all the screen), that's why the task bar dissapears. Also, should be included in the preferences window>gui section, the option to hide the title bar and not going through the process of edit/add a preference. I think you s

2. install it, but override its use by using another version placed in the plugins folder in the root of K-meleon 1.6 or browser\plugins in K-meleon 74 (and probably 1.8). Just placing the dll I provide, or even using a backup of a previous version installation. I am glad that you cleared up the placement in 74. I did not know that plugins had moved to browser. Thanks Nah, is what I r

Thanks JamesD ... I had another question, I don't know anything about the term "global flash" ... do these newer versions of K-Meleon already have flash or this "global flash", so I don't need to add the flash dll that JohnHell provides when there is a "Final Flash" version every so often. I guess I am not clear on the term "global flash" ... I have bee

Definitely I'm not having that issue, nor virtual or physical XP. http://s19.postimg.org/unodt0kwj/kmeleoniconcolors.png Yours is as if the icon were a bad optimized 256 colors icon or less, or a bad gif :-S http://thumb.snag.gy/lcTJU.jpg You were in 7 right?

there should be a hint about min. system requirements. It's now starting with XP-SP3 if I read the forum right? I run it in XP with SP2. SP3 is not mandatory, or I didn't have the need of SP3... at least in my machines, physical and virtual.

Works fine for me. Oh, ok, with 32 bit depth in XP the background is transparent ;) On 2000 no. Who cares xD And I guess the True Color works too at 32 bit depth.

Try viewing http://www.neogaf.com in IE and in K-Meleon 74 RC to see what I mean. I can't :( Windows 2000 --> IE 6 (quite buggy favicon support) But what I could see, is the same, except background. Any other one to test it? Any screenshot? Sorry Zero3k :(

I'm curious, what do you mean by True Color icon? I mean, from my point of view, you could be mixing the idea of True Color icon with True Color+Alpha (alpha as the transparent background). K-meleon already display icons in True Color, but not True Color+Alpha (black background instead transparent background). For example, from the red lines to the left, the original icon of this site; to

One thing I found to warn for those using custom skins (as skin.js isn't read now) is that the toolbars get reset in their positioning. Probably because of the fixed issue with skin.js. I don't know. Can you explain this in more detail? Am I wrong to assume this is back to the way it used to be? Could be. The thing is that K-meleon 74 now doesn't ship a skin.js in "\browser\d

Dorian, thanks for including the history changes, but you left as a comment the following code in history.xul and the background window menu entry wasn't available ;) <!-- <menuitem id="historyContext_opennewbackwindow" command="historyCmd_openbackwindow" label="&cmd.opennewbackwindow.label;" accesskey=

I have been noticing a bug that's been occurring for a while which I have forgot to mention earlier. Its that every so often, the text in the Search Bar (which is a K-Meleon plugin) and the URL drop down box gets enlarged/bolded. Here's a link to a screenshot that shows the issue: http://snag.gy/qrvgF.jpg That's not a problem of K-meleon 74, but K-meleon itself since 1.1.x versions. I n

Because, as I said in the past, in other thread, in other subforums, this hosting (kmeleon.sf.net, not the whole sf.net) has problems with binaries. It's not a K-meleon bug, it's a server misconfiguration. As I said, the server sends the files as plain/text. For example, if you go here, you don't have that problem: http://sourceforge.net/projects/kmeleon/files/k-meleon/1.5.4/ But ther

Isn't the version hardcoded in K-meleon.exe? We could add a custom user agent, anyway, of course. But, by default, it isn't sent the actual GRE version. Thanks for the hint to platform.ini. I upload the modified history to allow window open in front and background. The modification from JamesD and mine following his path. history_74_windows_menus.zip I have to say that the entry fo

Right now, the only "annoyance" I've found, and as I'm the only one here who uses windows, is to still edit history xul and/or controller.js to change or add the menu entries for window usage. Thank you so much, Dorian, to include the certificate error page correction too http://www.emoticons.free.fr/smileys/Emotion-Love/kiss2.gif Copy image content, working too. Thank you. A bu

I remembered today again a reported issue. The ID_COPY_IMAGE_CONTENT doesn't work. I can fix it, but I can't fix background image. They didn't bother to make a c++ api. Did you mean CSS background images? For that, I don't care, in fact, time ago, I made a change to the view page images macro (the old one (it's a little of pain with a sprites, but works)) and it shows those too and

I know it sounded weird, but it's what I meant ;) If the behavior described was happening, make sure javascript is disabled. I was telling to check that javascript was disabled. And then I explained that if it was disabled almost any flash site won't work. I know, I know, absolutely scrambled. But any reader should understand ;)

I remembered today again a reported issue. The ID_COPY_IMAGE_CONTENT doesn't work. I stopped trying to use it because I knew it was broken. I just tried today and still was broken. I don't remember if you said it couldn't be fixed. Without any hurry, maybe for the RC :)
