Found the problem! It was yet another PEBKAC problem - I set up the proxy but didn't implement it. It asks for the password properly now. Still, the developers may wish to add username / password capabilities to the proxy setup. Perhaps I should refrain from reporting problems until my Lyme-induced haze clears ...

QuoteJamesD @ shadeclan I don't use a proxy so I have no firsthand knowledge. I assume that the URL of the proxy leads to a page which should ask for the password. Is there an ID associated with the password? Does the page at the proxy require Javascript to operate correctly? No, that's not how it works. I'm no expert but there's some sort of handshaking going on not

Quoteadodupan Your machine is probably part of the local intranet network. The quick solution of your problem is this for km15. After installation, first read the readme file. Wasn't really interested in going back to the stable version as the beta version correctly renders the website I mentioned in my earlier post.

QuoteJamesD Did the prior version of KM have a place for password in the proxy configuration? No, but at least it asked me for the password. The beta version doesn't.

I was having trouble viewing certain sites with version 1.5.4 of K-Meleon and posted it on the forum. JamesD suggested that I get the beta version (1.6.0), which I did. It renders the website correctly now but a new problem has arisen. I use a secure proxy server at work. The old version asked me for a password (which I complained about here). The new version doesn't ask me for my pas

QuoteJamesD What version of KM are you using? Some sites don't display well in older KM versions. I have found the the KM 1.6.0 beta2 updated with the '.20' GRE will display most sites correctly. Just using the latest stable version, 1.5.4. I'll try the beta version - where can I find it? Edit 26 Aug 2011 3:55 am EST: The moron found it. I'll try it out and let y

I prefer my browser not to remember my passwords to websites. However, I do want my browser to remember my proxy password and not to ask me for it or get it from Windows. Can you add this feature please?

I'm having problems with Weather Underground a great site for weather info. I can't access any of the drop-down menus. They don't display correctly - they appear behind other elements and those that I can see can't be selected - the menu disappears as soon as I move off the menu bar. Is my browser configured wrong? I've got all my privacy items unchecked. The menus d

Found It! Internet Lock was blocking K-Meleon from accessing port 443. Added a new rule to Internet Lock and fixed the problem. Thanks for you help - sorry about the PEBKAC error.

QuoteJamesD Which version of KM are you using? I just went to www.google.com and clicked on the "sign in" and got a Google page with a name and password area. I am using KM 1.6.0 beta2. 1.6 has a newer engine than 1.5.4 and that could account for the difference. I have not tried with 1.5.4. I do have cookies but no proxy. I'm using the last stable version, 1.5.4. I found

When I try to login to my google account, I get this message: QuoteGoogle Failed to Connect The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.google.com. Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection. Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later. Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection. I
