Looks the same to me, except that Yogi's is already customized. At the bottom of your own screenshot, there's a button to get more: "add entry" To find the search button, does your skin look similar like the first screenshot on that page? http://kmeleonbrowser.org/shots.php The search button is the little round greenish "globe", directly next to the little "house&quo

General search settings are here, on several "tabs" in the right side: Hit F2 > Browsing > Finding Websites hmm, now see I also have a "Search with... " entry in the context menu, not sure if that's a special macro (SearchPlus) or just a setting. Dim memory coming up... The default menu name for searching was badly outdated for many many years, or perhaps still is?

Hi, just select something and then hit the Search-button! And always a good idea to right-click on buttons, just in case, some have a handy menu there (or add one yourself) It's also possible to type some search terms in the urlbar and then hit the button to search. It's also possible to add search engines as bookmarks, give them a nickname, then type the nick and search terms in the urlb

Another possibility is to load it automatically at startup in the future. That setting is found either in menu Sessions>Options...>Previous Session, or right-click on the home button to find "Start with Session..."

@Yogi Suggestion, perhaps post a screenshot of your "media" and "ipc" hits in about:config? (not from prefs.js, because it doesn't list the default settings)

Whoa... near impossible I'm afraid. I mean, with KM75.1?? XP?? Javascript?? (With that amount of 256 I'd rather recommand KM1.6beta26 and win98 and of course block JS and all sorts of other stuff, plus occasionally a RAM defrag, then 50 tabs become realistic ) As basics: switch on the Privacy toolbar (if enough space), and allow JS only where really needed. The normal settings are found

There are (almost) hundreds of prefs for media playing in gecko, so I strongly suspect such video probs are often just caused by different Default settings. Perhaps flash settings are different, or some others ("media" in about:config) pref("dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll", true); PS Offtopic note to all, just speaking of plugins: Even I can remember that FF drop

Well just the opening itself is obvious, there's a screw. May try it, or perhaps try some flips, just not yet. For the moment still hope it may self-repair, probably wishful thinking but it "seems" already a bit less hot... just really quite warm... Or perhaps it was the first shock that I overestimated the temperature at first... Meanwhile think the system constantly tries to recharge

Well, using JS for all sorts of stuff is a matter of personal preferences, tastes (and hardware) are different  (Edit: oops sorry, overlooked for a moment that it's now run inside a macro via injectJS, that means the web-JS can stay blocked) But the prob with "copying any old macro" is that this keeps perpetuating too complicated code, again and again and again, especially for

It's an old notebook, so everything is very compact and dense. No CD-drive. Slightly hesitant to screw open the battery compartment too, don't trust that at all. Assume that inside it's all soldered fix, not removable. And the battery lid contains also foot #4. Perhaps I should try to flip the whole thing over a dozen more times  Or perhaps with some luck my turn out something self-repairing

AARGH... I thought it was risky flipping over my dusty old box for the first time in years, in another desperate attempt to finally get more RAM and stick in a second plate. But now looks like it was not only useless but rather suicidal :( Because even after removing the new second RAM plate again (which didn't work, as others before, despite all specs being right), now my box starts overheating,

Thanks for the tip! We have a quite similar taste in apps :) Have tried BabelMap yesterday, the version from the homepage, and the current Version9 didn't even start. With or without KernelEx. He's also offering an old Version5 for Win9X on the website, but that one is so extremely outdated and old, it's a joke (8 years old, most emojis missing). Long standing grudge, I'll never understand wh

Someone somewhere mentioned, his browser would take the printer's own default settings (windows... printers... ) Outside of the browser. Actually this seems to work for me... at the moment... or perhaps it's one of the other prefs I'm still playing with... =============== Not really (in KM1.6). This is CRAZY: all of a sudden my default page size is now A4!! Which would be good, except I don't

Contrary to the page size, the footer-header entries seem to stick better, at least on my old version. If they are completely ignored on yours, there's probably not much hope, but would try anyway: Click Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory Open the file "user.js" with a notepad or any editor Close the browser Copy this into user.js (at bottom?): user_pref("kmel

Whenever I print, it always adds the header and footer info, even if I remove it in the page setup dialog. It always reverts to the same settings too. My printer has no settings for changing this. Is there a way to always print with no header or footer? I can confirm that I am seeing what is described here, but it's not even sticking for the tab that I have open. Hmm, doesn't sound goo

Just took a look at my about:config Yikes. Endless "print..." prefs, and more prefs, and yet more... What a jungle. A bit info here: kb.mozillazine.org/About:config_entries#Print PS: can confirm that in KM1.6 too the page size is fixed to every single tab! When setting it from "letter" to "A4", then activating another tab, that one will show the default size

Whoa, crazy! And I was hoping printing was finally fixed in latest versions. Sigh. Of course, if (??) the prob is only "remembering" the correct settings, that cries out for a customized own printer pref file in defaults folder, or a macro, or customizing user.js - you know that of course, just as hint for less experienced users ;-)

Yeah, and mine is called "useragents_mine.js", to reduce the risk of losing it accidentally some day when updating KM or installing a macro without first looking inside. Normally won't do that, but accidents happen. Speaking of UAs, have lately started playing a bit with the UA-autoswitcher extension, which is also hardcoded in KM-Pro omni.ja. But cannot test KM7x online myself. Cou

1800 emojis already!! https://emojipedia.org/faq/ This font-smilie technique is developing at lightning speed, and long since grown out of baby shoes! Variations of "flushed face" in different modern apps: https://unicode-table.com/en/1F633/ Or Android history: http://blog.emojipedia.org/content/images/2017/05/android-o-emoji-evolution.jpeg Really, this has already gotten compl

Ah yes, thanks for the reminder, had it completely forgotten. Oops. Time is always running so incredibly fast, no chance to do or learn even 10% of what I'd like to, sigh. Meanwhile had downloaded the same Symbola font too, but noticed your link is a different one - and its font file newer! So far this Symbola font works best for me, seems a good allround Unicode font. 8.000 characters for all

Sorry slightly off-topic, not related to this macro but to smilies in general. There exist also "Unicode-Emojis", which are just 1 character of special fonts. Those can contain hundred thousand other Unicode-pictures too. Examples: 😻 💕 😴 🌠 🍀 See little images here? Great, you can stop reading  Or see only little rectangles with numbers inside??

Yeah I know the feeling. After a certain amount of struggling and especially mostly in vain, and without having endless time for wasting, it somehow makes less and less sense. Just for curiosity am having an occasional look at MSFN too. Looks like someone is testing now and failing with ancient KM74 alpha-beta versions, still full of bugs itself. No wonder. And the problematic SSE-requirement f

The interesting point is this one: It's not XP, but K-Melon 76 Pro happens to work very well in Windows 2000 with Extended Core. I'm using it to type this post, in fact. If I remember right, JohnH can only run KM75.0 on his Win2000 - or confusing something now?

I finally killed that "local" process... Finally figured out, the prob was that it was search-indexing all the time everything it got into its greedy access fingers... I assume that you mean the Indexing Service. How to turn it off. YES. Great link, thanks :) The "manual" setting may even be enough already.

svchost... yeah well possible that that's the culprit! Just recently stumbled across an old note of mine, that exactly this thing nearly froze my old vista computer in the beginning, until I finally killed that "local" process... Finally figured out, the prob was that it was search-indexing all the time everything it got into its greedy access fingers, even attached usb-drives or disks

Or probably rather, all that automatic background downloading, preloading, prefetching, checking, virus-checking... giant adblock lists each startup, giant phishing lists, background checks if all addons are current etc.? For example it took me months to realize why FF10 froze right after startup on Win98: that link-prefetch pref was ON!! Since blocking that culprit, it can occasionally access

Is this the right thread for the UA switcher hardcoded in KM76-Pro...? The site-specific function is interesting, but the killer prob is that no global fake UAs are possible anymore! It kills them all instantly. And this function cannot be disabled unless editing omni.ja Wish it would at least be easier accessible in an open components folder. Have now tried to make an improved version, but
