No one around who knows a bit more as clueless me?? Cannot test it myself, and no idea if it runs at all in KM, just googled around a bit: Netflix seems infamous for intentionally closing the door at smaller browsers. The usual workaround for such cases: try sending such stubborn sites a fake _useragent_ string (browser+system info), on which website servers can decide which page content they s

Glad it works, thanks for confirming. The general concept of this little macro is probable a bit misunderstood: it cannot automatically figure out and report any errors itself. It also has no clue if a user is currently struggling with video probs, or logins, or images or whatever. No, the only modest purpose is to help users to help themselves, giving them tips where to look for the usual s

QuoteanonymousIt only confirms that the 'site' value in ExExceptions is not valid in Gecko versions we tested. In the contrary, it confirms that this tiny editor addon behaves perfectly valid. Because all it does is edit Mozillas native file permissions.sqlite, in exactly the way Mozilla has it defined. No more, no less: just adding domains to a list. The content blocking itself is up to t

QuoteanonymousDeleted all permissions.default.* preferences before testing. Plus sign is set for 'Image' of forum host in ExExceptions. It doesn't block the image. Example: So you have no default permission => show ALL images And the exception for kmeleonbrowser means => do not show images FROM kmeleonbrowser on OTHER sites. 1+2 => correct as expected, kmeleonbrowser-domain sho

QuoteZvonkoOk, troubleshoot_prefs.kmm is already installed, and I can see the generated reports (Error Console), but ... How to find a key for a solution? Hmm, do you really have the latest, version 15? Help > Troubleshooting INFO > No Lots of text appears... scroll a bit down, and there's this line (in v15): javascript.options.strict = false (false: KM76/77 Empty pages?) Simply

Interesting link... From what little I can see without any dev skills: This KM1.6 blocker-sourcecode contains 13 types in a row. cookies and popups are missing => makes sense because those use very different prefs => Looks like: that block of 13 types is treated the same? Interesting also that "media" is missing. It's younger as the others, but had the impression that sett

Quoteanonymous @siria Whatever your precious ExExceptions addon may allow to set, most of the permission.default.* settings do not support setting 'same site' in newer Gecko versions. Using '3' works for cookies, but not for xmlhttprequest. ARGH, Mozilla killed that option too? Can you tell which of the prefs, and since when? Prob is, altough those permissions.default.xxx prefs are extrem

Thank you roytam for all your hard work! And for updating the prefs-macro. Something I keep wondering, what's the problem with correcting the completely wrong branch number? KM76 and ini v2.3 is Gecko38. Perhaps some logistical prob with repositories, documentation, or such?

Sorry but just noticed, the brandnew version above doesn't show up at all in two ancient custom versions! Fiddled with start page again... Update Version 14: Report works now also in unofficial KM15Brasil and Freds KM1.6-F (have no others to test) Startpage 'about:about' used again for all old KM1.X versions, with infotext to use right-click if necessary (have lost track which special 1.x ve

Update Version 13: 4 more prefs, plugin/video/youtube related (and for KM1.6/1.7 same target page again as in v11) (and parent-menu with vendorcheck, now shows up in KM15/34Brasil too) Quoteanonymous Left mouse button down shows 'security error' with v12 on final Gecko 1.9.1 version, but that works with v11. Have tried again with fresh unzipped KM1.6beta2/26 and KM.17a2, but get no errors

Perhaps I'm missing something, or no one ever uses RSS, but as far as I know the native RSS-button for native included NewsFox has been dead since KM1.6? If anyone else has that prob, this little macro creates a command to open the XUL-path for Newsfox. The NewsFox xpi-addon itself must be already installed (is contained in KM7X) The NewsFox RSS-Button must be already created in toolbars.cf

QuoteanonymousWith KM 1.5.4 (LastVersion=17104933) there are security errors for 'about:config' and 'about:about' in v11 on left mouse button down, but that works with line 48 changed to: $_trbprf_vini<"17170000" ? $OpenURL="about:buildconfig" : 0; Thanks for another solution! Have now changed all KM1.X to use "about:about" (see no errors, and buildconfig lo

Quoteanonymous @siria Left click works with $OpenURL="chrome://global/content/buildconfig.html"; replacing lines 46 to 59. THANKS!! Incredible. This is a trick I would never have figured out myself! A chrome page. Due to bad experiences with injecting JS there, they too often give probs and seem much more touchy as other pages, have become rather distrusting and try to avoid them i

Thanks Callahan! Just what I meant: more eyes discover more ;-) But looks like direct left-clicking on internal ABOUT links is forbidden for security reasons! As the errorconsole says. Never noticed this myself, being so used to middle-clicking everything to open in new tabs, and never occured to me that a left-click could do anything different. The prob is now, even after googling around a

Yes I remember those were my own feelings too, when finally discovering this important function Unfortunately a few years too late, although it has always been in the menu: Edit > Configuration > User Settings But when I had explored KM for the first time and looked around the jungle of settings, I was a complete newbie yet, and even unfamiliar to Firefox or other Mozilla browsers. QuoteZvonkoBut your suggestion referring to autofill in prefs was a SUCCESS!!! Although the same Profiles folder was copied to KM I and KM II, in KM II one setting was changed without my influence (obscure to me, but...). The correct setting is: signon.autofillForms : true With this setting my problem was solved! Glad to hear! Yes there should be a GUI, still missing. As for so many things (w

And if you don't mind download this info macro: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,142878 into the macros folder, restart the browser, and click on Help > Troubleshooting INFO When asked to "Show more?" just click cancel and take a look at the report page: does it reall

QuoteZvonko Hi! This is essentially my old question, still unanswered ... It had gotten several answers just no solution yet, because you didn't reply to the last one anymore. QuoteZvonkoI have now here two KM builds installed -- let's call them KM I and KM II -- which I can use alternatively, with same profile and preferences. (The builds are KM 76 and KM76 Goanna.) With this new/old Opera version I now have the prob that all of us will face with K-Meleon too in a few months, and also users who need older Firefox etc. versions: Giant ADDONS archive was deleted, new users don't find anything anymore Rodocop posted this already, around next August Mozilla is planning to DELETE all xpi-addons online: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,145607 Just

New version v7, HUGE update. Completely reworked, report much bigger with more info. Therefore no popup and no clipboard anymore, but shows a normal html-page now. Parts of it can still be copied manually for the forum, depending on what is needed. Tried to toss together all sorts of KM-version infobits I could find, which now looks confusing but that's how versioning was handled by the var

No idea about this specific case, only in general: Since KM7X the "engine-stuff" subfolders are not in K-M/xxx anymore, but in K-M/browser/xxx If moving your fonts folder there doesn't work yet, try embedding that folder in K-M/browser/omni.ja That's just a zip-file, can be edited with 7zip (as usual, keep a backup copy of original to be on the safe side) If that doesn't help either

Yeah have tried some newer versions, but turns out Opera 12.02 really is the last one that works, at least on my only partly updated system. With KernelEx set to Win2000. But that's already more than I had expected, finally important websites start working again. And found there's actually an official Opera site for getting all sorts of older versions: ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/win/ To m
