I'm going to make my own survey with this little community I'm curious. How do you prefer to read the text on your monitor, with smoothed fonts (now known mostly as ClearType) or without smoothing them? In these examples I have used the Source Sans Pro font with its different styles/versions. This has ClearType enabled This is normal font I'm still using a C

Incredible... That is a huge work. I haven't tested but I see the smart tricks you did as adding the # to block. Awesome. P.S.: I have to study that $ARG. I thought Dorian added to K-meleon 7x branch the functions style for macros, but... ARG could make macros accept parameters... earlier...

QuoteYogi How nice of them for advising their customers so quickly. Yes, as the other breach to MySpace. They needed 3 years to disclose it... Quoteguenter I did not give my name or any true personal data to a free mailer. But there is a number of contacts. So this is annoying. I don't give personal information either. It isn't legal but... I only want the service, not a

Quoteneonred Many thanks The default value is: change click dblclick mouseup reset submit touchend Solution: change click dblclick reset submit touchend If I set it as you suggest then the ensuing video doesn't play (popup blocked). Since most popups happen on mouseup, I simply delete that and solve both problems. Try it, until you lift your finger off the mouse button nothing is hap

If anyone isn't aware yet of the last security breach at Yahoo, here it is the info: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/account/SLN27925.html QuoteYahoo Account Security Issue FAQs We have confirmed, based on a recent investigation, that a copy of certain user account information was stolen from our network in late 2014 by what we believe is a state-sponsored actor. The account informati

Quoteneonred // Why another popup blocker? // Built-in Firefox popup blocker blocks only the popup that were created automatically via // script on page load etc. When you click on a button on the page, it won't block it. // However, malicious websites can create JS code that will launch the popups whenever you click // on any blank space on the page for instance. That is tr

1118. Re: PDF.JS
QuoteJamesD Mark Your post is the first I have heard of PDF.JS. I have downloaded the stuff and can open viewer.html in K-Meleon. I have not been able to figure out how to change the pdf file to a local one. Any idea on how to use this such that the file to which one links in the browser is shown? I rarely show PDF files in the browser and I have adapted an old dll from SumatraPDF fo

Quotesiria Or print into a pdf-file, then transfer and print this on to the printer? I didn't thought on suggest that, when, actually, I do it very often with webpages But doesn't save to restart to Windows 98. Is that really your mail curious? I don't think so.

Please, when posting anything related to K-meleon, post the version you are talking about. You seem to be using K-meleon to check web mail. Said that, have in mind that if you are using an old version, this is not a K-meleon bug, it is just that the rendering engine is old to display the latest web technologies correctly (www is not static, it evolves). Ideas? Use a virtual machine w

That menu will appear, alternatively, if a button doesn't have a custom context menu. Some don't have, so use them to show the menu. Or create a new "dummy" button.

QuoteWasiAzeem @JohnHell I did not try dependencywalker but please read ahead. ( I am afraid you will make my .bwi log public It was a suggestion. Have in mind anyway, that I don't fully understand Dependency Walker log files, but maybe one of us (guenter, siria, rodocop, Dorian, or other advanced users, as I wasn't saying only me) could help. Anyway, initially suggested by Sir

Quotesiria QuoteJohnHellFirst thing after install XP or above: disable system restore. Oh great - and there I was planning to use it when someday using another system. Which are the probs with it? From above: Thanks, but I prefer to be responsible of my disasters and make backups by myself. For the average, there is no problem, for me, starts on disk space usage. And why?, read the li

Quotelroixx gratefully to everyone, esp. JohnHell You are welcome... for whatever I did. But this time, better you follow rodocop. I do this kind of things manually, by hosts file and usercontent.css.

Quotefoliator QuoteJohnHell ... on NT systems (NT 4.0 to latest 10) the registry is a few file hives and restoring it (one of them or all) with utilities like ERUNT, replaces the hives by the old, meaning that the registry is as it was before, so doesn't leave traces of old keys or deletes other keys. Does Windows System Restore do the same thing with the registry? I've used that in t

Quote www.dependencywalker.com Definitively, is what I first thought. Give it a try, loggin full paths and, even for me still is hard to understand, you could send the resulting .bwi log to one of us privately (I wouldn't make it public here). @Siria, I forgot how registry worked on Windows 98, but on NT systems (NT 4.0 to latest 10) the registry is a few file hives and restorin

Quotegrob My recommendation is to create a new "use case", a new feature that will make the user able to restore his last session, AFTER he closes the browser or if anything happens to the computer and the browser closes. That is already covered. If crash, by default behaves as other Gecko browsers: asks to restore the last session. If I'm not wrong, you can avoid the qu

To the first question, have a look here: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?3,139534,139677,page=1#msg-139654 Quoteguest Speaking of, how would one change the background color of blank tabs? For this, if I'm not wrong the easy way was removed in latest versions form the classic GUI and from the new about:preferences was buggy. But you can type about:config in the url bar and

Mike, is not about ignorance. Yogi, in my opinion was rude there, but you have been stick like glue that this should be fixed in K-meleon, when, one way or another, has been told this is not a K-meleon bug. What happens when someone reports something as a bug, is that the older members here, or with more knowledge, or just with energy to help, try to investigate the bug to confirm, or "re

Quotemikeyww Here is my example page. The code is not perfect but works perfectly in KM. What is the error that you are highlighting? An img element can't be inside a head element. Told by the validator. Do you guess why yours passes? Quotemikeyww You have also not explained why the validator's two statements are valid. Why should be explained by me? First, I'm n

Quotemikeyww I agree with gordon451: KM's fault intolerance creates a problem for the user. I see that the Osprey page has complex code. I did not examine it in detail, but I do wonder if the W3C validator is also faulty. Examples are below. 1. "Start tag body seen but an element of the same type was already open": as far as I can tell, the page has only one "body"

Quotesiria On about:config there are also some interesting prefs to find, like "javascript.options.strict" or those JS "jit" options. Not sure what they do, just saying. The first helps to debug strict javascript parsing as it is logged to the console. Helps to write well coded javascript. JIT is for compilation (machine code) instead interpret it.
