I'm very much with you there, that things shall just work as we want them! And will happily keep sticking with my cookie exceptions instead of logins each time. Perhaps more skilled people than myself can figure out that login stuff, but anyway, good luck until next time

QuoteVkarylAlso, I have one site where I'm not asked if I want to save my login info. And since I log into this site (an MMO forum site) on various different email/password selections, it would definitely be handy to have! Had overlooked that one. Am not too familiar with that function either, since personally I prefer to handle logins via cookie exceptions instead. Anyway: - In F2/Priva

Hi Vkaryl, it's rather quiet around here, so let me jump in although I cannot answer that stuff very well. And personally am stuck with an older version due to win98, but most settings still work the same. Not all, but anyway, just try. - For the window position, no idea if it helps with 2 screens, but take a look here: F2 > GUI > At startup - for editing posts in this forum, t

Looks all so very much complicated with those FF addons. Am just mightly glad again that youtube still graciously delivers flv for my KM1.6 useragent, and that the good-old hexed flash9-plugin still allows to retrieve it from the temp folder - just what I need

I've given up years ago using the regular way, didn't work too often. For manual config, look for a file search.xml in the profile folder and filter for "search" in about:config

QuoteJohnHell Quotesiriait also helps to return again a variable into a macro var? Not fully working. JamesD tested it, and I tried too, but no luck. Read about it here: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?8,131009,131398,page=4#msg-131332 QuoteJamesDI ran a macro with the following code. The first alert was correct and showed the datetime. Those caps-policies have been removed by Mozilla, so we as non-devs can do nothing.

Okay, thanks! I read about it, just wasn't quite sure how far that fix helps. And it also helps to return again a variable into a macro var?

QuoteJohnHellBTW I didn't asked to the mozilla community yet about javascript working after disable it after load the page. It's driving me crazy. In K-meleon 75. Yeah, it's a no-go for me too. Just hoping dorian or someone figures out how to change that again. Just curious, did you try if injectjs can overrule it now?

My memory is already fading about this, but didn't Mozilla abolish the "capabilities" system (CAPS), except for the part about reading local files? Since then all that exception stuff didn't work anymore, but I might confuse it meanwhile, not sure ;-)

QuoteJohnHellwhen you check the magenta to become transparent, it takes a wider range of the magenta color making a kind of half transparency for the whole icon and ends in the opposite of Magenta: Green. Or, as half transparency, greenish. Just tried it myself for curiosity. Looks like checking "transparent color" works fine, but when additionally checking "alpha channel" i

QuoteJohnHellAbout the macros, @adodupan, I don't know. Even reusing the rebarmenu_test macro by siria, can't make it working in K-meleon 75b1, but it's me, as JamesD was able to do it. That test macro only creates a button at browser start, it doesn't contain the command to change images later, so no help ;-) But the creation should hopefully work, provided the hardcoded ho

Hmm, not quite sure what you mean... But "pure" macros only work inside K-Meleon, they require native KM functions, which they are based on and can extend. They are not standalone tools. If you call a macro from inside KM, it can fire a normal windows commandline if you want (and permissions allow) For example I'm using an old favorites-add-macro which calls the WindowsScriptin

I do it all the time, but there's no need to have that function built directly inside the browser. There are all-purpose capturers out there, and I'm very happy with the Faststone Capturer (FSCapture, not the image viewer). Meanwhile it's shareware, but the last freeware version can still be found on the web, e.g. here www.chip.de/downloads/FastStone-Capture-Letzte-Freeware-Versio

A hooray for editors with automatic code-highlighting and code-folding, and matching open-close bracket pairs! Counting a hundred brackets and surely overlooking some would drive me CRAZY. To my regret didn't have a clue such a thing even exists when I struggled hard with my first macros and the syntax. Am not planning on struggling with this skin stuff soon myself, just for curiosity: whic

@jujuland: you mentioned linebreaks in tooltips, that got me curious because I didn't know that was possible. Then tested in KM1.6 and found that they actually work for macro-created buttons, but not for toolbars.cfg-buttons. Those show the \n visible like normal characters, that means a string with and the same one without a linebreak is a different thing for KM. Just for backwards compat

@gordon Spammer sitebee on wiki welcome page. Aside from adding 2 spam links at the bottom he also messed something around with the KM wiki links, to disguise from the spam, but cannot tell 100% sure if that's any good or not. Since you've changed that page lately and know it much better I'd prefer you to reset or adjust it ;-) @mods: take a look, perhaps block

Am sure Dorian will fix it, and until then, perhaps the old sessions-plugin may still work, as in the past some old plugins have continued working fine when the newer ones were buggy yet. But only a test will show. I really like that he's storing sessions now in separate files, not mixed into browser prefs. That makes backups easier when someone wants to store only prefs or only sessions. S

If the system hasn't changed with the latest versions, then IE-"Favorites" can still be "shared" with IE. That means (unlike FF bookmarks) they are neither copied nor imported, simply both browsers work with the same folder at the same time. And that folder is found automatically when the favorites plugin is switched on (by default it's off) in F2>KM Plugins>IE

QuoteguenterHave You ever though of using %PROGRAMFILES% or/and %PROGRAMFILES(X86)% instead? Hmm.... now wondering, if it's in the official program folders, perhaps the path can even be dropped completely? Dimly remember that e.g. notepad.exe needs no path either... but could remember wrong... just an idea to test.

Okay, thanks! Nothing like a little test to clear things up, was worth trying. And am glad you figured out the solution with the second popup-pref, and even already delivered an easy fix for it! Great job!

No idea what exactly and what not, but am using it regularly to stop meta-refreshs (reloads defined in the page header), and it al

Suggestion: please leave the "default" skin folder as it was in previous KM versions. It's needed for "user default" files, without unrepairably messing the "original default" skin. If there must now be such a thing, rename Aura to "Original". If then a skin calls a non-existing bmp in its own folder, KM shall look it up in (user) default folder as

The prob is that nearly no one is reading here in the offtopic section. It's for "All which isn't K-Meleon related", like seasons greetings, freeware tips etc. That bug may not be "caused" by KM, but it still happens when it is "used" and it's dangerous, so of course I consider it "related". Oh well. Can't remember if Dorian mention

Thank you. Sounds like a lot of work. And still much left to do. Am really glad to read that old skins shall still work too! Haven't tested anything yet (needs my other computer), just unzipped and took a first curious look at toolbars.cfg, in settings folder: Noticed the ID-commands in default skin have been replaced by those "left column" system commands, as in the cpp-fil

Always a matter of balance. Having urlbar-autocomplete with bookmarks is a "good" change that I'd happily welcome, but having history and bookmarks (which have nothing to do with each other) mixed together inseparately in some big binary or whatever pot is a "bad" change. So in sum the good change comes at a bad price. But of course the balance depends on the needs of

Ah, now I understand what you mean, autocomplete can only search inside 1 file! So to search inside history AND bookmarks, it only works with the FF way to keep bookmarks AND history together in places.sqlite! Hmm, frankly I don't like that too much Prefer it clean, simple, and handy, not sure if that urlbar search is worth giving up the separate system, and not sure which disadvantage
