What version? I had bad experiences in the past too, but I can guarantee you that image and script works perfectly because I used a couple of times before switching from 1.1.x to 1.6.x. Of course, I'm talking about 1.1.x. If it was broken in 1.5.x, I have no idea as I never used that intermediate version. But should work as well.

You only have to modify the file toolbars.cfg in the folder of the skin you are using. Just replace the icon file name (a bmp one) for the one used in the versions you liked how looked and... voila!
