Actually, I may have the Geek Squad or some one install it for me as I understand that OEM XP's tend to have problems when installed in a different machine or a machine with a different MB. That alone may well may make me a much happier camper. I'll replace KM 1.6.2 beta with K-Meleon1.6.0_Beta2dot5_en-US and give it a run for it's money. With very new machines You got to make sure You

@ guenter / JamesD I didn't realize that 32 bit OS's could be run on a 64 bit machine :O, good to know. I saved the HDD and it's contents from the xp machine. I will plan on installing it on this new 64 bit machine. Preferences/Page Content/Images/Disallow scripts to change images (Disable roll-over effects) defaults to true every time km is closed. How can I stop this from happening? I am using KM 1.6.2 Beta on a Windows 8 64 bit machine. Thank you.

Charlie You did not say which 1.6 that you were using. I do not have chrome, firefox, or Win8 but my beta 2.5 of KM 1.6.0 is very stable on Win7 (32 bit). https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/K-Meleon1.6.0_Beta2dot5_en-US.7z Most macros will run with 1.6 versions. If you have a specific one that you are not sure about, just ask here. Thanks, JamesD I'm using K-Meleon1.6.

Thanks, duffy98 I probably haven't tried any of the most recent versions of FF but I've gotten to the point that I tend to shy away from FF except when using someone else's machine that happens to have FF on it. I'm kind of the same way about Google Chrome even though it seems to get some rave reviews.

Howdy, Folks. Been giving KM 1.6 beta a run for it's money on a new a 64bit machine with Windows 8 (which I HATE! In fact I'm thinking about tossing Windows 8 out the window.) I'm using ClassicShellSetup_3_6_6 but still the Start/Modern screen comes back occasionally, maybe I just need to keep experimenting with the settings. Frankly, I think MS took a perfectly simple and efficient l

Anyone out there familiar with Classic Shell 3.6.6? I have it installed on Windows 8 w/IE10. There doesn't seem to be a way to access the Safe Mode. Anyone know of a workaround other than uninstalling Classic Shell 3.6.6? I tried to use the Classic Shell: Forum but i can't manage to get registered and the Classic Shell: Forum Search doesn't seem to turn up anything. Thank you.

At times twin+ works great even though I have dialup with a 56k modem which connects at about 26k these days, loading web pages at least twice as fast as 1.5.4. However, when I attempt to load more than about 8 tabs, twin+ crashes. Also, when I attempt to access web pages after starting/restarting the computer, twin+ is in Work-Offline mode even though there is no check-mark beside File >

no tool needed. Just place different builds in their own folders and create shortcuts with parameter -new Thank you, robocop. I did that and re-registered the netsh winsock reset as well. I'll play it from here and see how it goes. EDIT: BTW, I ran the AppMgmtParameters.reg and it returned that it had been "successfully registered." But when I attempt to start the App Management

@ rodocop I had twin-tune selected. I will reinstall twin+ and try with Fasterfox. EDIT I seem to recall km having a tool of some kind to permit multiple versions of km on the same computer but I can't seem to find it. Do you know where I can fine it?

@ Rodocop, I have also experienced these same types of problems with all versions of FF that I have tried. Do you have any idea what kind of network config problems might be causing it? What about surfing with other browsers? Is it unproblematic? Have you triedmy solution with netsh winsock reset? What is your connection type - direct or proxied? Sorry for so much of questions - but

@ JamesD Yes, I intended to type 1GB. My BIOS is a bit newer, Intel Corp. SR84510A.46T.0014.P06.0410050243 10/05/2004 but I understand that dates verses versions some times turn out kind of bass-ackwards.:D @ Rodocop, I have also experienced these same types of problems with all versions of FF that I have tried. Thanks, everyone for your help. For some reason the entire system and applications became so unstable, apparently from trying to use 1.6 that the machine was totally of no use when connected to the Internet that I had to remove Twin+ and even then the files with extension htm, http etc. hat to me manually reassigned from Folder Options. If I recall correctly, I experienced much the same problem wi

Caktus, are you letting a tab load before loading another? Could that lead to a resource problem - i.e. memory? I was using groups and loading in pairs some of the time, but I have all the memory that 32 bit Windows can address. Sorry that I cannot produce same error. I have no certain answer for you. Thank you for responding, JamesD. Now that you mention it, a couple of times twin+

Revised version for Twin. Line 25 is changed.......... I tried this in K-Meleon Twin+'s K-Meleon-1.7\macros folder and it locked me into the 1.7 browser with no way to open the 1.6 browser except to remove this macro. I am using XP Home, could this be the problem? Thank you.

I have a note of change for using KM17n.kmm with Twin. I found there is a difference in the folder name for KM 1.7 in my test system and the actual name in Twin. In order to use KM17n.kmm with twin you need to change the relative path. From: .\\K-Meleon 1.7 To: .\\K-Meleon-1.7 As usual, I am confused (no big surprise). I am confused in regard to "relative path", exactly

Anyway, caktus, check file associations for *.cfg and other plain text formats and try to set up the external source code viewer (I use Mark.exe from the Twin-build, but feel free to choose your own favourite) in Preferences->Page Display... You beat me to posting it, darn it!:P

caktus, toolbars.cfg, of course! toolbars.cfg.16 is inactivated copy for those who wants to try using small buttons. It is not precisely being set up. Thank you. Though I am probably getting ahead of my self trying to customize twin pluses 1.7 but I'm curious, how do all of 1.7's buttons show up, apparently with out a Toolbars.cfg file? Yes, Config files won't open for some strange rea

robocop Edit>Configuation>Toolbarscfg file does not open. K-Meleon Twin+\skins\dbTango\ has two toolbars.cfg; toolbars.cfg and toolbars.cfg.16 Which do I use to customize tool bar buttons. I am trying to remove most of the buttons to create more viewing real estate and use the features from the menus. I removed most of them using the View>Toolbars menu but for some I have to use

rodocop, Thank you for putting together K-Meleon Twin+.:) I just installed it and it looks like a lot of thought and work went into it. So far it appears much faster/more responsive than other browsers I've tried including the previous KM's. I'll give it a good run and let you know if I run into any problems. Incidentally, I like that the AB+ icon is in the status bar instead of stealing valuab

Don't use outdated browser, simple as that. Firefox 15.0.1 is much much faster than outdated Kmeleon and runs rings around it in benchmarks and HTML5 support. Don't be like IE6 users, holding back the Web. Posted from Firefox 18. Thank you, HTML5. I guess I'll have to break down and give the FF 15.0.1 a try. Does anyone know when/if KM will become HTML 5 compatible? Hi Charl

More and More web sites are advising users, including KM users that we are using an out dated browser and requiring IE 9, which I understand is only available to Windows Vista and Windows 7. These sites mention that they will also accept the latest version of FF, which for some reason has always been buggy on my systems, Windows XP Home and Windows ME. My home is paid off but the builder isn

I use Wells Fargo by using the KM 1.5.4 user agent. I have a file named "personal.js" in my defaults\pref folder.
