I think I must withdraw the change I made for consoleservice.enabled and the Error Console. JohnHell indicated the preformance gain was only available when the console was open. It was also pointed out that there would be a problem with my console2.kmm if the pref was not included in kmeleon.js. Apparently a missing pref in this case lets the console service run. Since the results of a che

Since Dorian put it an update with the note that it could increase performance, I decided that I would make use of the pref("consoleservice.enabled"). I often work on macros and for testing them, I seldom need to know of XML or CSS errors. Now, I know that I can turn off their display in the error console, but the service is still running so there is not a performance gain. So I m

2. Is anyone able to replicate the crashes which occur when opening and closing a new tab multiple times? I am not sure if I did the test correctly, but I used the open and close tab buttons to open and close a new tab for ten cycles. My new tab is always blank. Nothing failed. You should consider doing it for 20-40 times by pressing CTRL+T and CTRL+W. I did 35 times. I have KM

6. Re: XP
For Flash you can try EDIT - PREFERENCES - PAGE DISPLAY - CONTENT FILTERS and check the box labeled "Enable Flashblock".

I would like my current tab to stay in the foreground when I Ctrl-click to open a link in a new tab. There is an option which looks like it should do that, but the checkbox is greyed out! You can use EDIT - CONFIGURATION - ACCELERATORS and add the following line. CTRL LButton = ID_OPEN_LINK_IN_BACKGROUNDTAB Save the file and restart KM.

The only funny thing is how my folder is named "Favorites Bar" (as it is in the newer versions of IE), but K-Meleon renames it "Links" in the Favorites menu and everywhere! So nostalgic! :P You can use EDIT - PREFERENCES - K-MELEON PLUGINS - IE FAVORITES - FAVORITES BAR and select the folder to be used and title to be used. If title is not set then "Links" is

1. How do I remove the maximum tab limit? If its not possible for a user to remove it, it should be removed in its code. Are you speaking of a hard upper limit or the number before there is a warning? If it is the number before a warning, then the following pref could have it's value increased. browser.tabs.maxOpenBeforeWarn If it is a hard upper limit, then I don't know.

@ Dorian I think the second update has somwhow stopped some items from showing in the error console. For sure errors of type CSS no longer show there. I made a clean install into a folder named “K-Meleon74Beta3t” located in C:\Program Files. I did a custom install and selected “portable” and un-checked the make default box. I then did the following steps. I ran the first update,

The old bug of the missing line of the toolbars is back with the update. It happens when the tab bar is set above the toolbars, when the browser is run it appears normally and then when a new tab is opened the toolband line gets removed. Maybe related to findbar because it has the same bug also. Just for test, I placed the tab bar at the botton. Not only did the line under the toolbars di

I think the lists in the two links that you posted are not in CSS format. The sites in the lists are likely correct but they should be put in the required style for CSS code. Open EDIT - CONFIGURATION - ADD BLOCKING STYLESHEET in order to see how the CSS is coded. Edit - After more looking, I am no longer sure of the above statement. I did not find a fanboy list in my KM 74 so I looked back

@ KMfan2 Could you post the additions that you made to the css file? I would like to try them and test the css structure as well.

Perhaps if you look in the error console for CSS errors, there will be a note about an incorrect method in the lists.

Favorites Bar - It works on my 11 year old laptop with Vista SP2. I no longer have a XP operating system available with which to test. Should the developers include both versions of Favorites.dll and have the install choose which to use based on target operating system? Yes, I have 7 on the desktop and Vista on the laptop. The final updates for XP were shipped yesterday. I did not cons

Also, when you add a page to Favorites, it simply adds the page to the root Favorites directory It should ask you every time. I know that's an issue with the plugin rather than the browser, so maybe this should be posted elsewhere, but I'm new here! : P I made a fix for that a long time ago. You can find it here: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KmmFavRenAdd Regarding the favori

Once I spotted the bar (very small) in the right end of my toolbar, I just pulled it down to the next line. It expanded to full width. Image shows that I have both a favorites bar and tab bar below my regular toolbar. This is using the favorites.dll which came with KM 74 beta 3. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/Favorites.png

The missing favorite bar is a much bigger encumbrance! It may not be missing. It may just be hard to spot. If you set the favorites bar to show in preferences and indicate a folder of items to be shown on the bar then restart KM. Make sure the toolbars are un-locked and look at the right side of the toolbar for an extra bar. Pull it down to the next line.

The keys I am referring to are the "page back" and "page forward" in the grid with my arrow keys on my IBM ThinkPad T60p. They simply take you back and forward a page as an easier alternative to the toolbar buttons. I didn't realize how much I used them until this stopped working! I know you can use Alt + Left/Right arrow, but it's just not as convenient. I hope this

@ thomase13 I am happy that you have found K-Meleon. I am using KM 74 beta 3 for almost everything now. Yes, it still has some bugs, but the engine is far advanced from the stable 1.5.4 version. You have found a bug that I don't think anyone else has reported. So few of us use favorites instead of bookmarks. I just happen to be who uses the favorites menu rather than the favorites bar.

I have tried to make something work, but have not been successful. I do not know if this plugin will work with later versions of KM. The original file plus my kmm file are included here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/EntNxtTab.7z

@ Dirk You can set F6 to go to the next tab by this method. Use EDIT - CONFIGURATION - ACCELERATORS to open a local file. Add this code: %ifplugin tabs VK_F6 = ID_TAB_NEXT %endif Save the file and restart K-Meleon. I know of no command id to emulate pressing the return <enter> key. I suggest that you just press <enter> and then F6

In order to run both versions at the same time, a command line switch must be employed. Listed below is the switch that I have in my shortcut for KM 74. "C:\Program Files\K-Meleon 74 Beta 3\k-meleon.exe" -new

IMHO we should keep the old system with the macro. I agree. There are enough items to fix without spending time on things that are not broken.

Ah and another longstanding plugin wish would be a "refresh menu" command for favorites, because the native plugin has a very limited functionality, while the more comfortable extra macros have the huge prob that the menu entries can't get refreshed... There are workarounds, but complicated and not foolproof. Frankly I'm still using on win98 kko's extremely old solution to use the nati

I need a little help with some chrome. I am trying to make the FF addon for exporting passwords work with KM 74 beta 3. I was able to make the old pwexporter extension correctly export the passwords, but it failed to import its own files. I got the most recent addon from the FF page and prepared it just like the old version. With the new version, I am not getting anything but a blank panel.

It is sometimes possible. It is also complicated. I have had mixed results with this method. If the addon has a .jar file and manifest then they should be copied to the "extensions" folder in the KM root folder. If you have no extensions folder you should make one. If you have to make an extensions folder, then you will likely need to add a line in the file "chrome.manifest&q
