There may be a perceptible difference in startup time using the regular 7-zip made omni.ja file with normal compression. It is very hard for me to tell. I would need a program which could measure the time to be sure. There is only a little savings in space. The original omni.ja for KM 7431 is 1,200 KB and the "normal" is 1,105 KB.

I have had an experience using KM 74 g31 u1 where the "Find Next" button did not work. I seems to work fine on some pages, but when I was working on the wiki to edit MacroLanguage2, it did not work. I was looking for "!!" and KM found and highlighted the first occurrence. When I click on the button, "Find Next", or use F4 nothing happens. If I try "Find Pre

Must be me, but I don't see any blanks at "String Handling". Neither is there a "!!" or "!" on any of those lines. It is a non-numbered list. String Handling is half the way down the list. * * * * * <!-- the two asterisks make the item an indented section of a non-numbered list ** ** *** *** ** *** *** *** ** ** ***

I got into edit on MacroLanguage2 using the method supplied by Gordon451. It appears that I did not have a space between the !!! and the text in my contents. There must be another reason for the wiki to add an extra table of contents.

I am using Win7 (32 bit) and I have found that the operating system can natively extract from the omni.ja file in KM 74 g31. Here is the method that I used. Create a work space (folder) and copy the omni.ja file there. Rename the file from omni.ja to omni.zip. Double click on omni.zip. The entire directory tree of the file opens. Select the entire directory tree (all the files and folders)

Thanks for the info, Gordon. Now, if I could just get into edit mode on the page. I can log into the bug system but then I can't get to the page. Every time I try to edit the page it takes me back to the login.

I must have already opened the ja file once before doing it as my prior post. Sorry about my memory. The program that I use is Extractnow. It says that it will run on Win 95 so I guess it will run on Win 98 also. It says that it will work under wine also. http://www.extractnow.com/

I am not sure that I understand your term "top paste". If you want to start KM and show a specific URL then the way to that is a command line option. It would look something like this. "C:\Program Files\K-Meleon\k-meleon.exe" http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net

7z: After a long search finally found the download-links, but still cannot open omni.ja How exactly do you open it, step-by-step?? I am using 7-Zip version 9.20 on Win 7. I just did a right-click on the omni.ja file to get a menu which included "7-Zip". When I selected 7-Zip I got a menu with two "Open Archive" items. I used the second one which is a popup with file

In F2>macros there are two native ones declared as "user-defined": places.kmm + tuxhelper.kmm tuxhelper is a macro which allows to use some features not possible with wine under Linux (due to some protocols not implemented in wine, like mailto, for exemple...) As it's include in the setup, I think it should be shown like others macros, and not user-defined. But it's a d

Hi Gordon, I am glad that you have some interest in the documentation. I think it likely that you have already found these items, but just in case, I will post the links here. I did not get anything to happen in KM 7424 or KM 7431. I made sure that one and two were checked and three was unchecked in page search. I did "Find in Page" and entered "Edit". I then opened your link in a new tab and began typing in the text area. I included the word "Edit" in the line that I added. Nothing happened. Is this the right way to test?

I am not sure if this is what you mean, or not. I think it has to do with size of your browser window. Try the following: Don't maximize your browser. Grab the right edge of the browser window. Make the browser window smaller by pulling the right edge to the left. Watch the menu items change position.

Find as you type, not working without opening the search box. Confirm, please. I was trying to find if 74gre31 has the same bug as 74 final that when you search and find text in a textarea, starts editing the textarea instead continue searching. Can you explain the test that I need to preform? Is a textarea just text or an input field?

@ Gordon I tried with KM 74 final and KM 74 Gecko 31 on Win 7 (32 bit) and File > Save Page As... worked as well as right-click > Save Page As... Selecting File and typing "S" worked also. My skin does not have a tools button. Have you made any changes to your KM that might cause your problem?

I made a change to mail.kmm which gets me a method to use "Send Page as Link...". Please note that this is not for everyone. It will work with MS Outlook. If you use a different mail program, you would need to adjust the code. Items in red are the new code. ( The $JS_doit and &JS_hndlTop; lines are unchanged. ) What I see that is different is that when a new mail opens in Ou

Should we put items for the development version KM 74 Gecko 31 in the new tracker? If so, we should have a section for that. If not, I guess we keep putting them in the forum thread. I don't care which way. I just want to do it the expected way. Edit: Log in was easy.

Since injectJS() only works when the page has been loaded with JS enabled, that means that "Send Page as Link...", right click menu in Mail/News Buttons, will not work in pages loaded with JS disabled. I really miss the CAPS system. @ JohnHell Speech is OK. Every bit of knowledge helps.

Maybe I got lost. Did I understand correctly?, if you, JamesD, are able to run the injectJS in the 4th scenario: Load a page with javascript disabled, enable after load and run a macro with injectJS command? I'd swear that in the virtual machine with Win7 I just tested now that doesn't work... EDIT: I did with you v3 siria :-? Maybe I did it wrong. Running the VM is a pain arghhhh.

Now let's make it complicated. I wish to get some information from the system that I did not already know. I want to know what is the current day of the week from the system date. "var d = new Date(); dm = d.getDay(); function returnVar(dm){return dm;} returnVar(dm);"); This code was to report back the data, but Dorian says that does not work. So how do I get the data into

Could you please check if it works if you replace the injectJS-line in the testJS-macro with those 2 lines? $_code="document.title='".$_new."';"; $_new=="" ? 0 : injectJS($_code); It works with your new lines. I tried with tests one and four.

I made a change after I saw how you did injectJS(). _Snippet_RunCode { $_Snippet_replace = prompt("Enter new value for page title", "Page title replacement test",$TITLE); $_Snippet_cmdline = "document.title=\"".$_Snippet_replace."\";" ; injectJS($_Snippet_cmdline); } This works for me. It is as you said. Whether or not title changes

@ siria I must not understand your instructions. I tried all of your tests with JS enabled = true and with JS enabled = false. I never got a title change. What I toggle is togglepref( BOOL, "javascript.enabled"); I tried both with a reload and without. This was on Win 7, KM 74 Gecko 31 with update 1. I do not use the privacy bar.

But am running into a major prob again: As soon as a user zooms the "page", which is the default action for mousewheel-zoom, the size looks completely different as when using text zoom only :-( Is there any chance to figure out that $PageZoom size for further use in a macro?? It does seem to exist somewhere, because the status bar shows after a page zoom (by button) exactly the sa

There is a problem with console2 view source. The errors list, but I cannot trace the errors using view source. Any attempt to do so raises an "UNKNOWN PROTOCOL ERROR". The last two errors come from the attempt to see the error in snippet.kmm. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/7431_unknown_protocol.jpg

I am using Win 7 and I have full use of the right-click on page after installing the update. I was crashing before, but KM works fine now. p.s. One probably unrealated oddity. After each restart I hide the Save As Button. An it is there again. After each restart. This has not happened to me. I do not use the default skin, but I did change to it for a test. Did not another user not

After searching three backup drives, I found this old macro. I have not loaded or checked it in at least a couple of years. I have had to resort to using WScript from OnQuit event and having a "wait" period to allow KM to finish writing and release the files in order to do any work on most of the files in my profile.
