Just a suggestion to add those crucial basics on the README-page: - In K-Meleon buttons with additional menu are *not* marked with little arrows at the side. They open by right-click. Or : - In K-Meleon all buttons can have 2 functions: a command on left-click and an additional menu on right-click. Those buttons are *not* marked with little arrows at the side. You can easily add own menus t

Am afraid there aren't many possibilities, if you always want the best version of different sites that treat different browsers differently, then you'll have to send them different fake name tags (what a sentence, uff). As guenter explained above, for now you can only switch user agents. Switching isn't hard, isn't there even a new automatic per-site switcher build into KM74? Am not sure, just

But the FAQ-probs usually were not about ad-blocking, but not getting access. That's a whole different thing and won't help those probs. But the newer gecko engine will help a LOT :-) But since we're talking now about our (still!! :)) good-old-KM-adblock, I'd like to take the opportunity to advertise ;-) a general trick, that's probably not yet widely known among users. Because it is sometimes

One setting: general.useragent.compatMode.firefox I'm getting remorse now to have set this to true. Someone made a macro for it, I'll add it in the final release. OK. So, making this setting on KM 74 beta 3 makes scrolling working on that site, but the interface is like the one i do not like. How can i keep the old interface (the one that has left bar options) and make that site scroll w

There are about a hundred more possible settings, also hidden ones  And plugins and other stuff etc. And of course also the UserAgent Name, which you could easily exchange yourself. But obviously your prob is not so much with beta3, but really with RC! And it's likely that developers don't even notice this thread because of the beta3-title, which is not going to fix AGAIN since scrolli

___________ quote: for(; i < oldYahooMailAds.length; ++i) oldYahooMailAds.className = oldYahooMailAds.className.replace("with-ads",""); } ___________ old tricks don't seem to work anymore, none, grmpf. Okay, brute force with checkmark, but looks like quotes, colors etc. don't work anymore either :(

Ah - of course!! Good old KM-Adblock, am using it all the time, but completely forgot about it now, unbelievable... Okay, am still curious if the macros are working, but apart from that in this specific case adblock.css would suffice completely :) Just a line more to add to restrict it to yahoo domain.

Have unzipped it, and sounds like the main part for the modern yahoo version is 'just' some css code (hard work of course to first create that code). I've been wondering for some time if macros are still working in KM74, and lately reading they may "partly" work currently, and the future unsure. @Guenter, would you mind testing Soni's code with my Styleon or Stylescriptia macro on y

Or perhaps just different user settings?? Different things blocked? Other plugins? Is the profile the same? The default settings perhaps different? Can't try it myself, but would be surprised if there are such fundamental differences. Then again, Dorian wrote RC2 contains some testing code for addon-compatibility, but for the final version it would be removed again. What do you mean with

I only know that you get that FAR more often than I. Didn't get that at all until a few months ago. Only the last days it has increased a lot, but so far worked instantly again at second attempt. Not the slightest idea why that difference, it can't have much to do with the network since it's a message from the server itself? Mystery...

ROFL!!! Thanks for the laugh, and sooo cute, aww :D :D But if it works for you, provided both are current version, than it's probably just some setting, like 3rd-party-cookies or referer or must be or must not be https... whatever nonsense they want...

Want some startup settings, that may be changed during a session but at next browser start are automatically reset again to your default values? And perhaps want to write some comments to them? ==> That's exactly what the user.js file in the profile folder is here for! And as usual that has been around for ages and I never understood what it's for and how it works, sigh. The browser will r

1.8 was never intended to be 'some fork' or 'some variation', and definitely, 1.8 is not 'some test version' (thx for descriptions). 1.8 is just a package with fixes (and some small changes and improvements). Thanks for clarification :) So the politically correct designation may be "package similar 74 with fixes and small improvements"... and rather demo than test... or such. But

Dieses Posting dann bitte gern wieder löschen damit hier weniger off

Probably the last update Implemented restart, improved favorites and bookmarks icon (bug 1056), and fixed encoding for hotlist. Sounds great, and thank you for the hotlist fixing! :) Uhm, would you mind if I mark the 1.5.4 version on the download page with "(obsolete)"? And KM74 with "(recommended)"? And add a little link "(+update kmrc2u1)" beside it?

LOL!!! Oh John, it's exactly the other way around, in reality you know at least 10x more than myself about computers and KM, rather 100x, *except* in macrolanguage, but only as long as it contains NO javascript :D Same for guenter of course. And of course it's funny to expect that we all have photographic memories and remembering every little detail that was posted in the last decade here ;-) M

I handle two color items in my "user defined stylesheet". /* -- Links that have been visited are DeepPink -- */ a:visited { color: DeepPink !important; } /* -- Links that need javascript are green -- */ a { color: green !important; font-weight: bold !important; } I may now try to move to using a "colors.js" file in browser, however I did not see Javascript in

Yes, something like your screenshot should definitely be standard in a current browser. It was already ages ago in my IE5, but of course considering the whole of it KM won by spades. Currently color can be set via about:config for the items You mention. Type colors in about:config and You have access to the options and their names. Yep, that's exactly what I did when I re-discovered there's

A few days ago I've come across an older blog post from someone who is visually impaired and researched a bunch of browsers for _NATIVE_ color and font setting possibilities (it's german, www.knetfeder.de/linux/index.php?id=178 ). Needed among other points, like still needing a visible status bar and handy buttons for quick toggling of cookies and scripts etc. (I'm regretting since years ou

If you must force-refresh that's yet another setting again. That dynamic thing makes that pages get loaded new much more often than necessary, not the other way around. Yes it may be true that most sites today, especially industry-sites and forums have dynamic dates with fake claims "modified NOW". Nevertheless there are still enough out there with a true date, so I find those setting

Another plugin question: Would like to be able to put menus on skin buttons with LEFT click, especially by macros. Does the rebarmenu still work in KM74? And if yes, does it now show the checkmarks right? Because ever since I use KM there was a bug that the checkmarks showed the state from when a menu was last called by a regular way, not the current state. So I was forced to drop the checkmarks c

Hi Charlie, just wondering what exactly do you need it for, since cache age matters to you? That doesn't make much sense to me, considering that "current" googles cache is mostly outdated compared to the real website anyway. Or do you only have trouble getting the cache-links back on a search page? And for heavens sake please consider not using such a horrible outdated KM version :O E

Thank you for the test - and too bad, so KM74 messes special characters even with the old plugin :-( That leaves two possiblities, either drop it as you wish, or update that plugin too. No idea how much work that would be, and while being at it, perhaps modernize that archaic thing a bit? Since it uses just one text file for storing, just as the old bookmarks plugin did, I've been wondering for so

opera hotlist: as long as we can simply copy over the 1.5.4 plugin without needing any further tricks, there's no prob. 154 dll still works fine with special characters. And it does not delete nicks when adding a new bookmark. Just don't know if that version can still run in KM74?? And not sure at the moment if 154-version also loses new entries when added by right-clicking the top folder in

:O W-H-O-A!! :O Thanks for the links! Shock-1: TONS more than I had dared to hope!! Shock-2: 2/3 of downloads are still KM1.5.4, and even with RC being out last month, can't believe it!!

And already a little update to version-2, see above. Fixed a syntax error, and added possibility to call the macro together with a fix file, in that case it can run silently without asking for a file first. Can be used in shortcuts etc. Explanation inside the kmm-file (=text file). Note: If short javascripts don't run in KM1.7, also look inside the kmm how to fix it.

KM keeps progressing, great! :) Just a point to consider before dropping hotlist, although it's really archaic: Having 2 bookmark systems allows to set one to open in new tabs (usually preferred), and the other in same tab (needed for bookmarklets).

A mini alternative to my long monster macro javascriptia/stylescriptia, might later be included in it. For now this as a tiny standalone macro, for userstyles (.css) and usercripts (.js) No autoloading or other gimmicks, but it can use LONG files over 32kB, that means without size limit! http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/forum/file.php?9,file=843,filename=StyleonMini_screen.png UPDATE: Ve
