Not really. You're the one who had all sorts of strange probs in the past already, like history not working etc.? Where the reason turned out that Windows secretly redirects portable profile writing actions in some other folder, while read attempts are still inside KM? The version can best be determined by looking at the date of kmeleon.exe If all else fails, I'd make a backup copy of the

Don't know if unzipping has much to do with it, there were other start problems mentioned before, just can't remember details... perhaps that cache folder in the profile... or Windows automatics, or security tools... Guess it can't be that SSE2-prob if update is only from 76 to 76... And of course delete the "profile.ini" file in KM root if it's not supposed to work portable...

Yes, but the link is setting russian language. Am afraid only the english version gets occasional a few updates, and there were quite a bunch since KM7X...

If you made skin/button changes those will be lost though when overwriting. Recommanded to make a backup copy of whole KM folder first. Most of us here prefer parallel installations in different folders.

Okay, so yes, JS was the culprit! Should have tested before asking, but hate to use it especially there directly. Thank you for the very detailed and clear explanations! So it's not even necessary to urlencode it first, all the more easier. Regarding screengrab, am using the ancient tiny Faststone Capture tool, last freeware version. Very happy with it, can even auto-scroll to catch whole p

Hmm, thanks, but still nothing. Probably more stuff missing. Does it need JS? Not tried with lowering the walls yet, only cookies, referer etc. tested with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0 Mozilla/5.0 (Android 7.0; Mobile; rv:51.0) Gecko/51.0 Firefox/51.0 Does it really work for you? Which UA exactly? Have an example pic? My test macro: revGoogleIMG{

y a-t-il réellement encore un dévelopement du navigateur justement, parce que je constate que depuis septembre 2015 il ne se passe rien. "rien" n'est pas tout vrai. Derniere 76RC1c/76RC3 version Juillet 2016: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?8,138447

Grmpf... no luck here. Searched around in the addon and found this in the bootstrap.js: https://images.google.com/searchbyimage?image_url=imageurl But doesn't seem to work, google redirects to a normal search page

tineye is one of the easiest possible macros at all, just a redirect: opentab("http://tineye.com/search?pluginver=bookmark_1.0&url=".$ImageURL); If you have an example URL of google and it also contains the original image URL, you can just replace the target

just guessing: Is there a file "profile.ini" in the KM root folder?

Thanks for finding! After a closer look inside KM exe: it also has prefs for a sidebar now? What's it for, any use for macros? kmeleon.sidebar.width kmeleon.sidebar.visible kmeleon.sidebar.lastVisible also possibly interested, but contained even in ancient KM1.6 already (about:config): print.use_native_print_dialog + tons more for print kmeleon.general.guest_account etc.

Uaah.... does that mean that now ALL old button-macros are crashing?? <shock>

If you have a proxy button macro which still works (?), I'd perhaps first try to copy that one and modify it for a simply BOOL pref, and other names of course for everything.

It's basically the same principle as any other macro which just toggles a simple pref and creates a button for it, like e.g. the standalone proxy buttons.

to 2) he seems to suggest to check if the current skin name (from the pref) contains the word "Large", and depending from this if-condition choose the button name. But wouldn't work for all the large skins out there which do not use "Large" as part of folder name. And with the modernized skin handling I'm not familiar, how different sizes are created in out-of-box KM now, or i

Probably because it is a default preference, but if you look at the url about:config and search for it, you might have it set to true. Yes the profile prefs.js holds only the changed settings, NON-default. Those which also appear in bold font in about:config.

Checking the "menu bar" option merely adds another bar containing buttons for the k-meleon page and k-meleon forum. BTW This is not the menu bar, it's the Bookmarks Bar itself (contains those 2 default links in the Personal Toolbar Folder). Exactly the bar which should show the missing button. But your last post showed that with "button" you're not only meaning the "

the problem is that I already tested it and if it is disabled, the Bookmarks Windows can't be fired either with CTRL + B... Hm, yeah then something must be really badly messed, if even the text menu is vanished :( Another thought, although not much hope if really broken: Checking this button in the "bookmarks toolbar" means it's added to THIS bar, right? Perhaps this now creates s

So you don't have the Bookmarks menu, you don't have the Bookmarks button, which means that the Bookmarks plugin is disabled LOL! You're right, didn't notice myself, but if the text menu is missing (and wasn't tampered with by user, very unlikely here) it can only mean the whole plugin is just disabled! Only can't understand either that it's still possible to add bookmarks (how?) and show the

Thanks for the image. By the way you can also open bookmarks by right-clicking them in this window. There's a slight chance that pulling the URLbar a bit to the right could reveal more buttons on the left bar, but probably no more there. Better chance: do you have a toolbar named "Browser Configuration" hidden? That usually contains that button, if I read toolbars.cfg right. But not

I tried installing Stylish 2.0.7 from the mozilla addons page and it actually works, just need to install styles by copying the URL into Stylish manually. That sounds great! Could you (or anyone) describe this copy action a bit more in detail, for other users?

Yes there, and also with more Options here: F2 > K-Meleon Plugins > Netscape Bookmarks The Profile folder is found by Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory (but no idea, that may be among the deleted menu parts in default config?) (and if KM is set to be portable, certain'superclever' Windows systems secretly catch write attempts there and writes it elsewhere)

Looks like you found a solution, in the Palemoom forum: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=13005&start=320 Didn't read all 17 pages, but sounds like it's a bug in the Mozilla engine? And is fixed in Palemoon now? Wonder if it's fixed in KM76 too with the newer engine inside? Until fixed in KM too, did you find some workaround to stop it manually, perhaps using the sto

Not anymore, James, because the latest KM-versions (the gecko engine inside) have more restrictions for adding userstyles+scripts as older ones. Have lost track when those page-specific JS permissions appeared in macrolanguage, and since then am kinda out of the boat now. In the past would have suggested to try StyleonMini macro, but today am just leaning back and hoping for perhaps John or rodoco

Thanks for the info. At any rate sounds not worse as my current system ;-) Just don't put too much hope in macros to help with real pdf print bugs. Neither James nor I can do anything to "fix" bugs which happen by manual execution too. Typically our macros can only help to save a manual click or two by firing the same commands automatically, or by firing alternative workaround-command

Usability of KM would of course be an absolute killer requirement if I'd ever manage to switch to Linux. But no idea how compatible is it exactly?? For example there seem to be countless Linux versions around. Do Wine and KM run on all so perfectly? Also in sort of baby linux versions? Have a dim memory reading long ago that there were missing functions? As you can guess, my main interest is macro

p.s. I hope the "thread manager" approves of my asking on this thread! :D Tsss... Sorry for the misunderstanding! You can of course post where you want, but since you didn't continue in the linux part with all your previous postings in it, but instead in the empty 3rd part, that looked like not finding the link. Could have been, happens very often that non-underlined links are

@msea since you mentioned a few times that you overlook lots of stuff when reading, just in case, you may have wondered where your previous postings have gone. Here's the splitted link again, to continue your personal Linux adventure in one thread together :) Click on "thread", this was a link (although looks like text only): Now in this thread @Alain: and then wouldn't mind

Xubuntu recognizes my Tenda (Ralink) USB wifi and I'm very happy with it! Still quite a lot to figure out but I think I'm over the steepest part of the learning curve! Yay! I was considering buying a chromebook for simple blogging, research. No need now! Ancient old Desktop is doing the trick. 1.5 gb ram and it's fine. :) (just adjusted the posting title) PS: here's a handy list of ALL
