While opening my older KM versions again one of my pet error messages showed up again: "Call to the undefined macro"! Grmpf. Always wished it had the kindness to reveal also WHICH one exactly, sigh. Macros kplugin has no library to read compressed files and the basic "readfile" command only reads text from filesystem. Ok, thanks for explaining. Rodocop, please ple

In the worst case there's also the possibility to just keep the old system and keep a not quite brandnew browser version  It will keep working decently for quite awhile, until one by one the most hyped websites will slowly drop some features. But a year or two should still be bearable. Must admit, by now for example KM1.6 is becoming a real pain, even with only basic needs and dislike of

Thanks, will consider. But you caught the old version again, from first post, instead of the one at the LAST post directly. v6 was already in my download correct  The new ini-numbers you both posted convert to weird decimals: 1.6.0000 .... 3.0.0000 .... 4.(notanumber). ..... Uh oh *scratchhead*

"I deleted folders browser, kmextensions, locales, macros, skins, tools from K-Meleon and replaced them with ones from extension - so then I got this! 3 times!!!" I was hardly able to write a word in answer! ;-) I can imagine that :D Incredible... LOL!! But this is someone I'd most warmly recommand one of the fully automatic big player browsers http://s19.postimg.org/qqdfhlahb/whist

No idea what I'm doing wrong, but just cannot read it :( Tested in KM1.6 with existing default files. But neither any URLs starting with resource:/// nor resource:\\ don't work, nor reading from inside a jar file, like getfolder(RootFolder)."\\chrome\\kmprefs\\locale\\en-US\\contents.rdf"

Yeah but that platform.ini is not official, will only work in this macro. There are also the titles in readme.html, and the vendor-pref. Can macros really not read omni.ja? Have no idea, but don't wanna give up without at least a little test ;-) The test file is a normal one that should exist in official KM too: testmacro_omnija{ # KM-PRO: \\components\\KmeleonMain.js"); $_x=readf

@rodocop thanks, and is there anything unique in your Pro versions, that a macro could check via readfile perhaps? If a certain file exists, or a certain text inside? In readme? A pref? A skin pic? Or could also be something in omni.ja.

Thank you :) That converts hex/decimal to: # 17104933 => 1050025 => 1.5.0025 => KM 1.5.3 + 1.5.4 RC or final +? # 17170436 => 1060004 => 1.6.0004 => KM ALL 1.6alphabeta+CCFME + KM1.7alpha # 33554450 => 2000012 => 2.0.0012 => KM 74 final (g-20140803202131 / 24.7.0) # 33619975 => 2010007 => 2.1.0007 => KM 75 final +Pro +? Such stuff is in your profile folder, just copy it, and later copy over the single files into the new profile folder which is created by a new KM installation: Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory But be aware not all user changes are inside the profile. Changes at toolbar buttons are inside the program folder, also user-installed macros etc. If you have enough space on disk, the

Hi, there's a choice in the bookmarks menu > OPTIONS Also found when right-clicking the bookmarks icon. Also in F2> K-Meleon Plugins > Netscape Bookmarks Am just not quite sure if that option only means clicks in the bookmarks menu, or also works when clicking one in the toolbar?

Yes am aware, but not sure if that necessarily means there are no workarounds at all possible. FF addons can do all sorts of stuff that is forbidden to normal macros. so this command exec($CHPpath." ".$NIRpath." urlshortcut \"http://www.nirsoft.net\" \"~$folder.favorites$\" \"NirSoft\" "); will create URL-shortcut to NirSoft homepage in Favor

May be, but am just not a fan of needing external tools. Would rather have it all done 'internally'... Ah sorry, and yet another old struggle: Sometimes in macros I needed to transfer long text strings (whole pages) between macro-vars and injectJS back and forth and back again, for example for regex-replacements etc., but kept running into probs with special characters being treated as syntax

It works, cool. Things can be so easy with expert skills  Assuming it will also work in 76? Still working at finishing that macro, but while you're here: Adding Favorites (IE) still has a prehistoric GUI as far as I know (been awhile that I last tested on a 7X beta), tossing everything into a fix "new folder". Years ago James and I struggled mighty with workarounds with helper

UPD.: But if switch off JS (by button, menu or pref) - Flashblock button autochanges image from the 'hot' image to 'cold' one. While doesn't change it's 'checkage' state That makes sense. This macro contains a "menugrayed" line. Gray menu, and gray (dead) button. Have you tried disabling that line (perhaps causes a bug?) Hm, another wild thought: exchange the positions of adblock an

Great! The main difference is simply to use the same folder path in old and new KM. "Resfolder" is in root/res/ in old KM, but in root/browser/res in new KM. That's why there must be 2 different zips, with different folder paths. Now simply using common RootFolder as parent, and no prob anymore. Or the macros folder would work fine too.

Can be all sorts of stuff, sorry. And if it doesn't even start you can't look at the errorconsole either. The only small 1-file chance: if you modified the toolbar and skins, then get a fresh original toolbars.cfg file. Or if it's just a settings prob: rename prefs.js in your current profile folder. Best chance by far is memory: What did you customize last?? Perhaps best make a copy of whol

Curious what will turnout as reason... Are you referring to the build-in css ad-blocking? - I'm asking since I've never used it and I don't know how it performs That's just an ancient css file dating from 2006, in profile/chrome, which is blocking almost everything starting with "adv*", incl. ADVance... ADVenture... etc. Have modified my own file heavily over the years with person

@JamesD Let's test something? Have attached a modified kmm version. Move your single files temporarily into ROOT/localdocs_manual/... Disable current localdocs macro Have modified: - default path out of res-folder, to allow installation in all KM versions with same zip - added "manual" to folder name just to avoid possible misunderstanding about downloaded user documents or such

What shall I say, you've known me for awhile, we just have different personal preferences. It sure can be handy for people who like, who prefer their browser to be an all-purpose "suite", but personally I'd rather have my browser to do browser stuff only and handle system stuff with system tools. And so far am only rarely needing complicated extensions/addons (like ExExcept), and no Auto

The big KM 7x-problem touching readme-files but not limited to them is the fail of resource:// protocol. Earlier we were able to give relative links to any file inside KM-folder using that thing, but now it's addressed just inside omni.ja. So we need hardcode readme-file address somewhere in settings or macros. But this isn't big prob as it was solved by some macro as I can recall (it gets t

And a request: Please show the detailed, current version in the readme.html again. Until 1.x that page always was updated, like "1.6 Beta2". Only in the last years, since 7X, it's nowhere to be found anymore. Whenever a user posts some prob and we ask him which version he has exactly, and when he asks back how to know that, things get complicated :( Not to mention always struggling

Such mysterious stuff sometimes has its reasons completely elsewhere as assumed. For example other macros or whatever. Have you tried in other KM installations, non-Pro? Or with bmp/png pics? And to see the size directly at each button seems very strange to me, while the toolbar has explicitely [0,0] set, although it seems to work for your neighbor buttons. Or some skin.cfg containing another flas

Hey Yogi netcop, there were no personal attacks in my post, just criticism of the browser. If you or other sycophants here can't handle that, that's T.S. And if your one of these keyboard commando moderators who thinks he's a big tough guy because he can press a ban button, go ahead and ban me if you want, I could care less. The internet is a big, big place and I don't need to take cr*p from the li

No I meant a few years ago, others. Only later remembered this recent one too. Don't mean to bring up old stuff for discussion, only couldn't resist as hint when JG was shocked about such mild stuff as here ;-)
