Have looked around a bit in the web, and could it be you have to click some button which always carries the same name to proceed to the real target? Not sure, but if yes, perhaps some OnLoad automatic would be possible, for finding that button, getting its final target, closing current tab and open the real target without user clicks? But no clue, just fantasizing ;-) In one of the older macros

Edited 9 times LOL! I see you're quickly realizing the advantages of posting with an account and happily use them (as do I) (PS: that was offtopic of course :D) (PS2: just to avoid misunderstandings, I'm not saying it's great to edit so much, for example for RSS-readers it's rather a pain and has other disadvantages too, so we should all use it with care only) I could recommend one browser a

Sure the default blocker is rather soft, but the first mentioned macro in my post above (popupconfig) can make it harder. Not superheavyduty, but helps partly. And would also add domain-specific popup blocks, using extension ExExpermissions. But if you visit regularly such nasty sites, which highly likely contain malware too, consider using for such visits some specialised browser.

Thanks I didn't really understand how to implement the link you gave. But it looks perfect. However, the very word "macro" got me searching and (...) Sorry for the misunderstanding, my link was only to explain which method a future little macro could possibly use. But that macro itself would be written by me or others here, not yourself of course, and only if there's a need for it.

If a little macro would be okay for you, it could use the method described here: https://petermahoney.net/make-a-share-on-twitter-link-with-url-and-hashtags/ Just not sure if special characters would have to be tweaked first, and which and how exactly, but the basic structure itself would be quite easy. Worth trying or not? Update: after playing a bit with URL-strings, it looks like everyt

J.G., perhaps consider posting with an account here. It will give you some sort of personal history and help reputation.

Popups are there to be blocked  http://s19.postimg.org/qqdfhlahb/whistling.gif Awhile ago JohnHell inspired a macro for easier finetuning. Creates just a menu for toggling native Mozilla prefs: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,139836 Anyway, of course that linkchecker-page calls out for a little macro too, LOL! Thanx again John :D Description is also inside the attachment, ca

if only there was a way to make this Youtube No Buffer addon for Firefox to work correctly under K-meleon: https://add0n.com/no-buffer.html I use this addon to prevent youtube videos from autoplaying; I got v0.1.7 of the addon to work with Firefox 52 ESR and sort of "modded it" to work with Seamonkey 2.48. so far, it doesn't work yet on K-meleon Wondering if there's some workar

Simply do as most of us here, don't overwrite, but install into an own folder. This way both versions can work fully independant, and if needed you can copy over stuff from one into another. And of course use an own profile folder too, but if you have or create an empty file "profile.ini" in the KM root folder, it's independant anyway.

http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=29168&start=100 Cool, an embedded video that still plays in KM1.6! Haven't bothered even trying in years, because in FB&Co it stopped working years ago, therefore almost forgotten that in simple plain forums it kept working. And doesn't even require anything, no javascript permission, no media permission, no DOMstorage, no UA faking,

I also blacklist all javascript and would like a way to whitelist sites from either the keyboard or right click menu. Like John, I also prefer to just toggle JS manually when needed. That's what the Privacy Bar is just great for :) And for permanent exceptions just love the FF-addon ExExceptions (see tip below), which opens a great GUI like that: http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/forum/file.php

I would like to be able to zoom text only from my keyboard. Is there a way to create a shortcut for it. A way to do it on the right click menu would be nice as well. Hmm, that means you don't want to use toolbar buttons? And not the main menus? John has already explained the shortcuts. If you also want to extend your page context menu: Edit > Configuration > Menus (or manually open

Scary new Win10 bug: when using it to move, cut-paste or drag-drop files on a USB-MTP-connected Android phone, those files may vanish completely, and not even recovery tools can't help anymore. Android not completely innocent either, as even on some Linux computers files were reported deleted. The initial discovery report: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidQuestions/comments/6pkrgk/files_lost

Wow... interesting discovery! Sounds crazy, because all that html5disable does is toggle some MEDIA prefs and add a button. But if such a bug can be confirmed it would give some important clues. Cannot test KM7X myself currently, just a few quick thoughts, after looking inside the 7z on kmext: cannot detect any possible probs, but this thread is for KM76beta3 - which KM versions are affected? Or the simplest, just keep it ;-) What's the reason you wanna get rid of it? Almost sounds as if it's only to get about:config better readable, but that doesn't make sense, there are hundreds more prefs in it and for readability and listings there's the filter field.

Those are no "plugins", just harmless possible macro settings. Looks like you have the searchplus extension installed, which offers more options, for example showing different icons on the search button, depending on the currently active search engine: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?9,95362 Can't quite remember all details, and my own macros are heavily customized

And if I remember correctly installing the macro and its pre-requisits properly should overwrite values in the profile's prefs.js automatically. Not really, it has always been the opposite way: the installation folder defines the default values, but the user settings in his current profile folder have priority (most are stored in prefs.js) Just as a bit basics info for interested people:

Yes, it's logical after all, being called TEST sites  That means they must not blindly believe the name tag (as most other web authors, also most video sites), but must actively test which features are really working or not. Just in general and for future readers too, want to point out again a second possible mis-assumption: Such tests do depend on other PREFS/SETTINGS! For example if

KM 1.6: 127/555 points (couldn't resist, LOL!) "you are using an unknown browser that imitates"... my fake. Meanwhile remembered: if your KM is recognized despite UA, it could also be those "vendor" prefs.

No clue either, but sharing your first suspicion that it might have to do with your recent shortcut changes... Does the error console show anything interesting after startup? Did you restart the system again? And what happens when you start a complete, fresh unzipped portable version? In russian OSes something like this happens with K-Meleon when the primary OS language is set to non-latin (c

UAs are just a text string that the browser sends as his "name tag", but has no function in itself. It's up to website authors if they just use this (fake?) string to decide which elements and scripts to send across, or whether they actually do a check which functions exist on the client and which not. And of course there are lots more page elements which may be influenced with it, no

(Such things can only be fixed by Dorian ;-)) Just in case you might not know yet, those X's are mainly useful for newbies, the others use for example a middle-click or doubleclick, saves toolbar space  Settings here: F2 > Browsing > Tabbed Browsin > Tab Bar (look at bottom for various user settings)

Or calling the macro only manually, only when needed, not automatically after every page load ($OnLoad). The catch is that would of course require again a shortcut/menu/button, but if you don't mind that it's another possibility. In that case the toggle could be included.

Just read this a few minutes ago from xper at MSFN. MSFN will be taken offline 12 August 2017. Archive and backup what is important to you. We apologize for such a short notice but we can't do anything about it. Best regards MSFN ... Isn't that also all the old kernelex and other win update stuff? Oh no :( :( :(

KM 76 Pro fixes a few of them, but I've customized my current version very heavily, especially the toolbars (including custom icons) and menus. In 76 Pro I found I'd have to go through a lot of that again. Would just try to copy over your customized files, as they are. Can make things easier for the future too. Worth a try? For example, in the "skins" folder, users can create an own

Nice to see someone playing with macros, happens hardly ever :) statusbar is easy, all it needs is a bit plain text. For this macro would suggest: $_x=getpref(INT,"font.minimum-size.x-unicode"); statusbar("min font size: ".$_x); Yes too tiny fonts are a pain! My own minimum size is permanently at 14 with font Verdana, works quite well. No idea why the KM-default is zero,

Interesting, thanks. Those standard "/watch" views are exactly what I can't get to work anymore. Only in FF10, but that freezes on most pages after a few seconds, just too little RAM. On yt first shows a few seconds video+sound, then video freeze plus but a few more seconds sound, then whole FF frozen. PS have read the "webm" prefs are hardware dependant, only work with I

How does one verify this deeply hidden pref and/or change it then, anyone ?? Same as all prefs, go to page about:config, either type into urlbar or using menu (Edit>Configuration>Browser Configuration) If the pref doesn't show up, right-click and create it (type BOOL)
