Mmmmm. Ok, I see a difference between methods. I'm so aggressive blocking popups and the way it works on DeviantArt doesn't let to open one (actually makes a check for a window open, if not, opens the image standalone, instead inside page). Instead open by clicking download, open in new/same window/tab (I open in new window). You can disable javascript to have the same behavior

QuoteYogi First pic was made after reaching the site and before clicking on "Download". If I click the dowload-button (and cookies are enabled) the picture pops up in a new window at its full size. The second pic was made from that window. Is something I misunderstood or got wrong? Not now, I think... But if the image has already been cached (the first try), it will show the image p

QuoteYogi QuoteJohnHell Here you have an example to test with. https://sicarius8.deviantart.com/art/KW-614121943 This one works for me with K-Meleon 75.1 (Win7) From the download link. That seems the one in the page I posted. That shows the info correctly, but not after the download link.

Funny, because we are talking of, not only different K-meleon versions, but different Windows versions. At least in one should work! Lets see what the others report.

In 75.0 doesn't work either. In the last weeks I was looking into this. I don't have an exact procedure, but it is based on how the image is loaded. If the URL isn't an image and it has additional parameters that, in the end, invokes a redirect. The properties can't be displayed, but if you reload it (that hermes example is not the case) then you can. This happens

What Siria has said, Jujuland. These installers reconstruct themselves after next, next, next. I already tried things with similar installers without success. Nice protection, anyway, but damn annoying

QuoteJujuLand Hi, JohnHell, Give me the link of the installer. I think there is no problem to extract it under Linux, and no need to launch the installer. If I success (I think), I'll give you the way I use ... A+ You have it here: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (Finally, they decided to decommiss it the 30th of June) But I don't want a

THIS IS THE LAST UPDATE FROM ME It has been nice journey, but we knew this time had to come soon or later (how dramatic!! ) In the past I was able to bypass the operative system requirements (that is the reason I was posting these standalone Flash Player dlls), but since the last version, starting with the IE version of the plugin, the things became worst and, with this version, yes or

QuoteSlayer Thanks Dorian, I'm starting it right now... It says (in Spanish, so this is a translation): Can't find entry point ... procedure... GetLogicalProcessorInformation in library KERNEL32.dll Something like that. Which means there is an API missing, right? So my next question is, do I need to update to SP3, and this is going to be resolved? K-Meleon/75.1 works fine. Looks

@foliator then YouTube might have change the behavior :/ Quotesiria John @Note2: Hey don't kick the only other dev around ;-) Not quite fair anyway, just a typical case of a minor annoyance building up until it bursts and then accidentally hits a rather innocent one, who only tried to follow the example of others. Whether a good or bad thing, opinions differ, but frankly I've thoug

Quotefoliator QuoteDorian Even youtube doesn't work properly with flashblock anymore. Unfortunately, since firefox block flash natively I don't think flashblock is still supported. I just tried flashblock on YouTube using 76RC and it worked fine. However, the audio continues to play, so apparently Flash only handles the video, at least on that site. Erm that wasn't Flash. It w

QuoteYogi QuoteJohnHell Under Windows 2000, I can't test further and I don't want to open the sooooooo slow Windows 7 virtual machine to confirm having other users with live OSs here. You made me feel guilty. I've downloaded FF v46.01 to test twatter. The above vid plays in FF v46.01. However, it plays only with cookies enabled! Really assholes. I'm sorry ... so much.

Quoteinter Hi, JohnHell I really can watch video at: http://www.w3schools.com/TAgs/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml5_video but not at twitter and at Tutellus which is I really Need. There you have to remove the following line, then, test again: <source src="movie.ogg" type="video/ogg"> If you don't remove it, it falls back to the video/ogg (Theora codec)

QuoteYogi QuoteJohnHell EDIT: I see what happens the MP4 patent problem. Gecko can't play MP4. I'm afraid I can't follow you here. Both FirefoxESR and K-meleon are playing fine all MP4 vids I have on my HD. I think that twatter has implemented their HTML5-vids in such a way, so they can force the user to use only certain browsers to watch them. The great freedom "HTML5&qu

Quoterodocop Give us a link to twitter video please. This isn't JS- or Flashblock-related problem. KM 75 doesn't really play twitter and instagram videos for some reason and I think html5 is the reason. You are contradicting yourself as that file containing an image file has a file system format in UDF, so, yes, it is important the file system. Also is true that an image file could be renamed. And here we could discuss why the ***** programs don't warn or resfuse to open when opening files with a mismatch extension. In my system I have only a couple of programs that don't behave

Not only that. Flashblock is culprit as well :/ I don't use K-meleon for Twitter, but I use Firefox and the error is the same with Flashblock. -- inter, además de habilitar JavaScript (que lo tendrás habilitado, si no no te saldría ese error), deshabilita FlashBlock. Al bloquear flash, no permite cargar el reproductor flash y eso lleva al error.

Quotefoliator I'm glad that Dorian has continued with Netscape's old standard, which is much easier to maintain. BTW, there was a problem with Netscape's bookmarks when I used to run NS eons ago. If the browser was accidentally closed while the bookmarks window was still open, NS created a new, empty bookmarks.html file, and if it hadn't been backed up, all the bookmarks had t

There exists this preference, BUT K-meleon doesn't store bookmarks in places.sqlite, therefore, it can't find bookmarks when typing in the URL bar. K-meleon stores Netscape Bookmarks as always was till a few of versions of Firefox, this is, using bookmarks.html file in profile folder. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.urlbar.default.behavior In your case, the value would be 16+2=1

Sorry for the following OFF-TOPIC. @JamesD, browsing through mobile today I noticed the subject of this thread is wrong, as you wrote Z-zip, instead 7-zip. You, Guenter or Dorian, change it from: Z-Zip ver 15 flawed. Move to ver 16 to: 7-Zip ver 15 flawed. Move to ver 16 It's funny how eyes trick us and I didn't notice it till today and in a tiny screen hehe.

UDF is not a file format, but a file system. The file system is where files are stored. Under Windows, unless in an optical media, is very unlikely to see that file system being used. Usually NTFS nowadays. UDF may be more common under Linux/Unix environments and even.... no. So, answering the question, MalwareBytes won't be distributing files under UDF file system. The updates wi

The bug is a bug, but it isn't critical. It only affects when the file is placed in an UDF file system, which is used, normally, only with optical media (CD/DVD/Bluray). True is that distributed optical media images (ISO, CCD, CUE-BIN, MDF) can be opened by 7-zip. But not all are in UDF. But, really, the chances to distribute malware through a crafted image in UDF, expecting to be o

He means the links from tvunderground. Or at least is the only site that matched that pattern. Example: http://tvunderground.org.ru/torrent.php?tid=116553 In other words, links that don't have a .torrent file directly linked but an ID that, then, the PHP parser sends as a file with its extension. In 75.0 he was correctly, and does work with both type of links without problem. Ha

QuoteSlickone ^^ Thanks a lot, foliator. The startupCache just has one small file in it, which is why I didn't mention it, but the Cache folder contents seem to be about the same as the Cache folder. Also the startupCache and Cache folders didn't get recreated after running KM, which is good I guess. Startup and working in KM are faster now. Unless a change in K-meleon 76, i
