In general helpful of course, just in this specific case Rain wanted a menu on left on a button. We don't know yet which skin system he uses. No prob with the oldone. But with the NEW skin system the ICON vanishes for menu-buttons. Any trick to add an icon for a MENU via skin.cfg?? For simple users the old system is really far easier to customize, all button stuff together in a few l

Also just noticed how tough it is for less trained computer users to add new bookmark folders. When using the add-function, there is no option for it. But neither in the Edit function. Not even clicking on the "Help" button there gives a tip how. That help text is missing a lot of important info, especially also how to *search* for a bookmark. Had posted suggestions for that Hel

Have now tried to figure it out for the new default system, but so far no luck. That's getting kinda complicated First made a copy of the whole folder and then copied the default toolbars config into it (from KM/browser/defaults/settings). Activated this new skin in F2>GUI Changing the button *action* is feasable, same change as in traditional change, but could absolutely not manage

Am only familiar so far with the traditional skin system. If you're using one of those (e.g. Klassik), open the toolbars.cfg in current skin folder (Edit>Config.>Toolbars) And exchange this bookmarks(Edit)|&Bookmarks with rebarmenu(&Bookmarks)|&Bookmarks If I got it right, for KM74/75 a second working way is to just delete the left part: &Bookmarks I&

Regarding the broken Help>Welcome in unzipped version, before the update I noticed "general.useragent.contentlocale" was missing. Adding that alone didn't help, only adding it by clicking the en language pref in the GUI tab (although it is already showing the same out of the box). Perhaps there could be some startup check for this pref, and if missing that language-command exe

Yep, e.g. here http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/FAQ#mouseaccels A few weeks ago there was already another thread for it (a forum search might help), which was more detailed and contained also other ways.

Thank you for the new update! Am happy to see that the commands list now opens as html! And the automatic favorites update is a nice step forward, but seems to work only when adding new faves via iniwrite (which I've started trying only today, good timing ), but not yet with our usual macro way via wscript.exe. Did a quick check if the welcome page now works, without luck. Could i

Yes I understand James, but such highly complicated constructions are exactly what I mean and would rather avoid. I just don't trust 100% juggling with all those workarounds, especially deletion actions, but also changing native KM folder prefs constantly. If at least it would work smoothly to delete the fake file again each time, but that requires to install utils.dll. But there are o

Absolutely. And the most important gem, my beloved privbar, is hidden by default, so most people who just have a quick look will never learn of its existence. Sigh. But just realized that injectJS not only works again, but even with the return function working too Wasn't too sure of that, until testing myself. That is, so far only did two little tests, if the gecko var navigator.vendor.

Yeah I've seen those, but thought those were just the normal INFO notices. As they were in the past à la "There's a new KM version out. Want to download it? Yes/No". No one mentioned anything about *forced* updates that couldn't be stopped or I've overlooked it.

Guess only Dorian knows what happens exactly, and what that prefs-confusion does or not. But I just can't imagine *forced* updates for KM, not for versions downloaded here directly, at least not intentional. Did that happen to you too?? That sure would have been mentioned once or twice if everyone gets it, no?

Great, now googled a bit more and found this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1003777 There seem to be 3 prefs, that all must be adjusted to avoid automatic updates? Man, Mozilla really uses all tricks to kick users against their will app.update.auto - false app.update.enabled - false app.update.silent - false My oh my... should have read to the end first. Half a year la

Boah, now you really shocked me there for a moment!! A forced update would be an absolute NO GO. Looked it up in the web now: of course it's a native gecko pref again. BUT: in the KM default sheets it's set "false"! So my world is ok again At least it's not intentional. But the KM prefs contain a typo: app.update.enable At the end the "d" is missing!

Cannot imagine. Perhaps a fake. Where exactly did you download that? And which version? Then again, perhaps you just downloaded an old version somewhere, then it would really check and politely *notice* you of available updates, but never force anything. That checker plugin can also be disabled in F2/K-Meleon Plugins > Update => better download it again from the download link on

QuoteDorianYou can still have different different toolbar size, but I may have to fix at least the height in the future. Really glad about that Was 'slightly' scared when in the very first announcement you mentioned something about all buttons needing the same size - ouf.

Sorry for my stupid questions, had completely forgotten that I can currently look it up myself in beta3 *blush* Assuming that the default skin is built with the new system, then different sizes are obviously still possible or the privbar wouldn't still be so broad... And thanks for all the info James. So it's also still possible to use traditional horizontal pics with the new command

Am always a bit uneasy exchanging simple macros with complicated FF-addons that require devs to tweak, or simple textfiles like bookmarks with compliquated FF-sqlite unless there's a good reason. But you sure do have good reasons, we just don't know them. If in case of proxy it's only the missing alternative modes in the native toggle macro, that's already fixed in proxto

(_HOWTO_ Howto setcmdicon by macro, create menuicon and toolbar button image) QuoteDorian Instead of: setcmdicon("macros(_K75t_code)", "blocks.png[0]", 16, 16, "blocks.png[1]", "blocks.png[2]" ); You should use: setcmdicon("macros(_K75t_code)", "blocks.png[0]", 16, 16); Kmeleon will pick hot and disabled icons automatic

That's just the identic macros as used in the menu. So they do the same, just toggle the prefs, no more. I remember Dorian did already struggle a lot to get FAYT working again with the new gecko, seems a very tricky thing.

Yogi just used setbuttonimage to change his privbar behaviour and says in KM74 there's a bug, that happens only if the icons contain an alphachannel. Perhaps setcmdicon has some trouble with a-channel too, perhaps it depends from the pics? Haven't tested it myself yet.

Just in case you need macro names for creating own shortcuts, they are pref_ToggleTAF pref_ToggleTAFAuto pref_ToggleTAFLinks

Hm, it should work fine with the native mtypes macro alongside, others have tested it. The macro also checks already automatically if mtypes is active, and also if the conflicting rvjmimeedit is active, and adjusts the menu for it. For this it checks the $macromodules variable, which relies on the line usually at the end of each kmm file. My guess: perhaps you have more than just this one an

Krass!

Thanks for posting it again Didn't get around yet to test it on that other computer (will later), but you might try putting " " around each size number. The menuicon didn't work right without them when I struggled with it in the adblock macro.
