when you check the magenta to become transparent, it takes a wider range of the magenta color making a kind of half transparency for the whole icon and ends in the opposite of Magenta: Green. Or, as half transparency, greenish. Just tried it myself for curiosity. Looks like checking "transparent color" works fine, but when additionally checking "alpha channel" it really gets

About the macros, @adodupan, I don't know. Even reusing the rebarmenu_test macro by siria, can't make it working in K-meleon 75b1, but it's me, as JamesD was able to do it. That test macro only creates a button at browser start, it doesn't contain the command to change images later, so no help ;-) But the creation should hopefully work, provided the hardcoded hotlist image exists in the skin fo

Hmm, not quite sure what you mean... But "pure" macros only work inside K-Meleon, they require native KM functions, which they are based on and can extend. They are not standalone tools. If you call a macro from inside KM, it can fire a normal windows commandline if you want (and permissions allow) For example I'm using an old favorites-add-macro which calls the WindowsScriptingHost

I do it all the time, but there's no need to have that function built directly inside the browser. There are all-purpose capturers out there, and I'm very happy with the Faststone Capturer (FSCapture, not the image viewer). Meanwhile it's shareware, but the last freeware version can still be found on the web, e.g. here www.chip.de/downloads/FastStone-Capture-Letzte-Freeware-Version_20749866.html

A hooray for editors with automatic code-highlighting and code-folding, and matching open-close bracket pairs! Counting a hundred brackets and surely overlooking some would drive me CRAZY. To my regret didn't have a clue such a thing even exists when I struggled hard with my first macros and the syntax. Am not planning on struggling with this skin stuff soon myself, just for curiosity: which edit

@jujuland: you mentioned linebreaks in tooltips, that got me curious because I didn't know that was possible. Then tested in KM1.6 and found that they actually work for macro-created buttons, but not for toolbars.cfg-buttons. Those show the \n visible like normal characters, that means a string with and the same one without a linebreak is a different thing for KM. Just for backwards compatibilit

@gordon Spammer sitebee on wiki welcome page. Aside from adding 2 spam links at the bottom he also messed something around with the KM wiki links, to disguise from the spam, but cannot tell 100% sure if that's any good or not. Since you've changed that page lately and know it much better I'd prefer you to reset or adjust it ;-) @mods: take a look, perhaps block

Am sure Dorian will fix it, and until then, perhaps the old sessions-plugin may still work, as in the past some old plugins have continued working fine when the newer ones were buggy yet. But only a test will show. I really like that he's storing sessions now in separate files, not mixed into browser prefs. That makes backups easier when someone wants to store only prefs or only sessions. So I wo

If the system hasn't changed with the latest versions, then IE-"Favorites" can still be "shared" with IE. That means (unlike FF bookmarks) they are neither copied nor imported, simply both browsers work with the same folder at the same time. And that folder is found automatically when the favorites plugin is switched on (by default it's off) in F2>KM Plugins>IE Favorites.

Have You ever though of using %PROGRAMFILES% or/and %PROGRAMFILES(X86)% instead? Hmm.... now wondering, if it's in the official program folders, perhaps the path can even be dropped completely? Dimly remember that e.g. notepad.exe needs no path either... but could remember wrong... just an idea to test.

Okay, thanks! Nothing like a little test to clear things up, was worth trying. And am glad you figured out the solution with the second popup-pref, and even already delivered an easy fix for it! Great job! :)

http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/met_win_stop.asp That only prevents the load of a window, doesn't prevent the run of scripts ;) That much for theory  Still my experience is that it does stop some things long after a page has finished loading. No idea what exactly and what not, but am using it regularly to stop meta-refreshs (reloads defined in the page header), and it also stops gif ani

Suggestion: please leave the "default" skin folder as it was in previous KM versions. It's needed for "user default" files, without unrepairably messing the "original default" skin. If there must now be such a thing, rename Aura to "Original". If then a skin calls a non-existing bmp in its own folder, KM shall look it up in (user) default folder as befor

The prob is that nearly no one is reading here in the offtopic section. It's for "All which isn't K-Meleon related", like seasons greetings, freeware tips etc. That bug may not be "caused" by KM, but it still happens when it is "used" and it's dangerous, so of course I consider it "related". Oh well. Can't remember if Dorian mentioned Mozilla had introd

Thank you. Sounds like a lot of work. And still much left to do. Am really glad to read that old skins shall still work too! Haven't tested anything yet (needs my other computer), just unzipped and took a first curious look at toolbars.cfg, in settings folder: Noticed the ID-commands in default skin have been replaced by those "left column" system commands, as in the cpp-file you

Always a matter of balance. Having urlbar-autocomplete with bookmarks is a "good" change that I'd happily welcome, but having history and bookmarks (which have nothing to do with each other) mixed together inseparately in some big binary or whatever pot is a "bad" change. So in sum the good change comes at a bad price. But of course the balance depends on the needs of each

Ah, now I understand what you mean, autocomplete can only search inside 1 file! So to search inside history AND bookmarks, it only works with the FF way to keep bookmarks AND history together in places.sqlite! Hmm, frankly I don't like that too much :( Prefer it clean, simple, and handy, not sure if that urlbar search is worth giving up the separate system, and not sure which disadvantages th

Weird... Checked my various test profile names now: 5 have the same name as default, and 3 have other names! But I cannot manage to create another "same" one now. Even if "Ask at startup" is disabled again (the first thing I always activate in new installs) and the default session active again. And not the slightest idea what suddenly "switched" the new names

At the moment it takes 10 to 15 seconds to type in the url that I want to visit. Without a bookmark, this is what I have to do. Is there any way to save the address instead of having to re-type it each day? Yikes... I don't know if a bookmark-search is possible in urlbar in KM yet, but there are certainly a couple alternative ways to easier access a webpage that is used daily. Most peopl

Am wondering if those "behaviour" prefs really do work in KM? That is, allow searching not only in history, but also in bookmarks? Now I have some minor testing probs in 74 myself ;-P, but this page: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Changing_autocomplete_behavior_-_Firefox In Firefox 3 and above, when you start typing into the Location Bar, the autocomplete drop-down will show matching

Oh, yet another... hmm... let me guess, it's just a renamed copy of rvj-editor? Or not? But please, do a little **TEST** before publishing the final version. You guys never seem to test your own stuff! As this thread has shown again and again and again, and I don't get it... While I see already at first look another little menu glitch.... but I leave the discovery to your test, it's really ex

You IMHO knew why You used pref-filetypes.xul instead of pref.xul in Your macro. So do I. That elegantly avoided the problem, same name, same ID. :) LOL! Yes I know why, but you're assuming wrong again :D :D You still cling to your deep conviction that it must be something "complicated", but really, the name of the link targets don't make any problems (they ARE different before th

Both items called by the two macros have the name "pref.xul" and the same "ID". IMHO that is the deeper reason. Since Your macro works around this problem As mentioned, my macro doesn't touch those and the editors still work fine (in KM1.6), but since you use more files for KM74, rdf etc., who knows what those do. But why don't you simply rename the stuff you suspect and

the reason is IMHO in the XUL code. Both items called by the two macros have the name "pref.xul" and the same "ID". IMHO that is the deeper reason. Since Your macro works around this problem You have found this out too.. No, sorry, can't be. Or do you see anything in my macro code that would modify the name of those xul files or their IDs?? The truth is much simpler: both

You seem to give the good reason, that Dorian has used 1.54 as base instead of 1.60, and the improvments made by desga have been lost ... Uh?? You are writing yourself that a main.kmm that contains desgas modifications SOLVES a problem, which means his main.kmm must be BETTER than the old one - and then you draw the conclusion that this would prove it's a good thing his improvements were dropp

Much better. Almost matches again mine and guenters cleaned up version on the first page  Except one important point that's still missing. So, since we still can't find an agreement about allowing the native editor too, I finally decided to give in and create a "fork" macro. Did some testing now, just trial-and-error, and to my pleasant surprise found that KM1.6 can run RJV too
