JamesD Wonder if we have downloaded the same .7z package for KM-76 beta? Freshly unpacked .7z package, never connected to the internet, only setting I've changed was the switch to the Klassic skin. This is how my KM-76 beta looks like:

QuoteJamesDMight be skin specific. It does not happen with my skin. It's about the Klassic skin. Change your skin from Default to Klassic and voilà.

Thanks for the new beta. Déjà vu The same as it was in 75.1 Beta. The back and forward buttons are now always colored, I mean even with no visited site. The UA button image is not that from the privbar.

@KM2005 Works fine and results are fetched faster than with the search string I've posted. Redirection from ".com" to the TLD corresponding to the IP number the request was made from, can be avoided by replacing "www.google.com" with "encrypted.google.com". However the redirection is only an issue for people living outside the USA and oly if they want to g

QuoteKM2005This link changes to KM-Google 10 results per page when the timeframe of the results is changed, after the first page of results (searching by Past hour, Past 24 hours, Past week, past month, past year...) Only if you have scripting enabled. With JavaScript disabled you still get the 100 results per page.

@KM2005 This one should work: https://encrypted.google.com/search?client=kmeleon&hl=en&num=100&suggon=0&as_qdr=all&safe=off&filter=0&q= No redirection if you are outside of the USA, no sugggestions, no safe search and 100 results per page. If you prefer another TLD instead of ".com", just change the TLD to your like.

QuoteKM2005 Yogi, I'm meaning 100 results per page by default, without logging in and going to Advanced and setting it. That's what I'm meaning too. Per default, without logging in and without any cookie.

QuoteKM2005 Somewhat similarly, I run a custom Google search url in FF with the default FF UA that yields 100 results per page. From what I recall I couldn't get a KM UA to work with the custom url in my FF browser. Whatever, Google search that yields 100 results per page works fine in K-Meleon with its default UA. There is no need to change the UA for getting displayed 100 results per pag

Quotesiria But what if you define the couple site-exceptions you need and then set the file write-protected, to avoid automatic additions? Call me lazy but IMHO it isn't worth the effort even to test. Best practice is to use different browsers or browser-profiles for different tasks. E.g. in case of your banking site, you have to drop your pants anyway. Your bank must know who operates

@ Guenter Déjà vu We already had this kind of discusssion. I'll try to make it short this time. Some people don't bother about being tracked, others do. For some it's funny to get all possible junk delivered via scripting while for others, fun means exactly the opposite. As for plugins, flash plugin is the only plugin I still keep, but it's only in Opera Presto, w

QuotesiriaAfter finally having some understanding that it's all about those gecko settings "permissions.default.xxx", which ones exist and how they work, and how site exceptions are stored (permissions.sqlite in profile) Since you are at "permissions.sqlite", you might want to take a short look at this: HTTPS bent into the next super-cookies by researcher The only way

What's going wrong? Simply. You didn't bother to follow JohnHell's advice. Download his .zip file, extract the .kmm and put it into K-Meleon's macros folder. Restart K-Meleon, visit "http://likemag.com/de/6-karten-die-dein-weltbild-komplett-veraendern-werden" and test again.

Flash cookies (.sol), however we might call them, aren't stored through DOM storage. I have DOM storage always disabled through my user.js since I don't feel the need for persistent tracking cookies. However a few sites will refuse to work if they aren't allowed to set their persistent cookie. An example is the file hoster MEGA which will ask you to use a 'modern' brows

The buggers from Mega are keen to store data on local storage. If you disallow, they'll block any browser. That's not how a trustworthy host looks like.

Thanks for the update. It also fixed a strange behaviour of K-Meleon. If the language K-Meleon was set up to use for its GUI (in my case it is EN) didn't match the language of the the OS (mine is DE), right-clicking in the address field gave me a pop-up menu in German. All other menus were in English as expected.

That's it! As soon as I change to cyrillic, CPU consumption rockets to 24% in idle state and stays so. That's a very high value for my Quad-Core CPU. screenshot (I don't use AdBlock.)

QuotesiriaAh, and an extremely detailed list of all sorts of privacy, security prefs at http://www.ghacks.net/2015/08/18/a-comprehensive-list-of-firefox-privacy-and-security-settings/ That's a huge nice list. Thanks! Wonder if it is complete nonetheless. However if some of the settings from the list get applied, some other become redundant.

QuoteJamesD It may be because I am not experienced using task mgr. but I am not seeing really high cpu usage on this site. ( 16% ) The resulting values may differ depending on what hardware/CPU is involved. I've tested with 3 browsers. Opera Presto consumes considerable less CPU power while there seem to be no noticeable difference between FxESR 38 and KM 75. However CPU usage is not no
