Thanks for the info. At any rate sounds not worse as my current system ;-) Just don't put too much hope in macros to help with real pdf print bugs. Neither James nor I can do anything to "fix" bugs which happen by manual execution too. Typically our macros can only help to save a manual click or two by firing the same commands automatically, or by firing alternative workaround-command

Usability of KM would of course be an absolute killer requirement if I'd ever manage to switch to Linux. But no idea how compatible is it exactly?? For example there seem to be countless Linux versions around. Do Wine and KM run on all so perfectly? Also in sort of baby linux versions? Have a dim memory reading long ago that there were missing functions? As you can guess, my main interest is macro

p.s. I hope the "thread manager" approves of my asking on this thread! :D Tsss... Sorry for the misunderstanding! You can of course post where you want, but since you didn't continue in the linux part with all your previous postings in it, but instead in the empty 3rd part, that looked like not finding the link. Could have been, happens very often that non-underlined links are

@msea since you mentioned a few times that you overlook lots of stuff when reading, just in case, you may have wondered where your previous postings have gone. Here's the splitted link again, to continue your personal Linux adventure in one thread together :) Click on "thread", this was a link (although looks like text only): Now in this thread @Alain: and then wouldn't mind

Xubuntu recognizes my Tenda (Ralink) USB wifi and I'm very happy with it! Still quite a lot to figure out but I think I'm over the steepest part of the learning curve! Yay! I was considering buying a chromebook for simple blogging, research. No need now! Ancient old Desktop is doing the trick. 1.5 gb ram and it's fine. :) (just adjusted the posting title) PS: here's a handy list of ALL

@Alain, don't want to split this thread and move into Linux chapter? No one will find this later here and with constantly "XP" in all titles

That's almost certainly an internal engine feature, that means should work the same in FF and KM (in theory). Just different settings. But not sure which of the hundreds of hidden prefs may be responsible here, but you could open "about:config" in FF and filter for everything with "scroll", then do the same in KM and compare. Suspicious different settings can be changed dire

Thanks for telling. So often great features get overlooked just because they are a bit unusual to find :( If they can be found at all in the GUI, lots of features are even invisible except in about:config! (It's in the FAQ now, along with another frequent question on how to open external links in a tab)

Not savvy at all, sorry. And there are SO few people here, and it's not KM-related, so this sounds like a better chance...? http://www.google.com/search?q=stuck+at+1024+x+768+with+Win+XP&num=30&nfpr=1&gbv=1

LOL, sounds like it were only "THIS forum or TV or nowhere"! Seriously, there are a million other places on the web for discussions of anything under the sun. And you seem to overestimate slightly the number of visitors in this tiny forum here ;) James, just curious, do you only have 2 checkboxes on the ballot? Or are things like over here, the smaller players may be voteable but have

Exists since forever, it's just that some of the options are shattered a bit everywhere  Right-click the Home-Button > Start with Session > Previous Session Personally I prefer to open it manually only if needed, by Sessions > Load Session > Previous Session Attention after a crash, at next start the browser will ask something about restoring the "Last" Session -

I feel a little bit like a grease monkey talking with rocket scientists. but I'm fairly clever monkey. LOL! Funny put for "boah is that complicated!!" :D Button config may need a bit training of course, which is the price for being extremely customizable, but actually that wasn't the prob here - just that some of this talk wasn't actually directed at yourself! Instead jus

Yeah, to get the simplest fixes into the official version is always much harder as 100x more complicated bugs  I do understand it's more boring, but still... Here's another 'simple' fix wish: @Dorian At the end of toolbars.cfg is a bit HowTo text, but it's partly contradictory, at least confusing. That's a real pity, because those extremely free customizations are one of the greatest

Thanks I *was* thinking it's a bit of a waste of real estate. :) And a bit of a wrigamorole to get around it. I can be slow at this stuff. I just tried both solutions - yours and the other - and can't find a quick and ez way to change back and forth - Title bar >> no Title bar or to get resize button on another bar... but I'm happy. :) Fine if you're happy so easily :D Anyway, it

Ah yes.... I had some dim memory too of Dorian posting some trick how to move windows without titlebars, but took a lot of searching again. It was over 2 years ago: Have in mind that this will let the window without direct move capabilities (but accesible via ALT key). You can use empty space in tab bar :) I've attached a skin using your settings with fix for restore/maximize. That's p

Ha - got it! I think... At least in KM1.6, here it's caused by that infamous JS image switch again: F2 > Page Display > Images > Disallow scripts... (ROLLOVER) Unless of course there may now be additional probs in 76?

Uh, you kidding??? :O KM shall be unusable out-of-box on tons of important sites, with the purpose to educate the site authors, but in reality the only victims are us users??? Sorry, no way. The userbase of KM would instantly drop to near zero! And in my trusty old KM1.6 am mightly glad that there even are some sites out there still serving to SSL3/TLS1 too, otherwise half the web wouldn't ev

@James Perhaps check your allowed TLS levels or SSL in about:config There are even pref sheets for this, in old KM F2>Privacy..>Encryption>Encrypted Transmission In newer KMs probably additional stuff, not sure where exactly, perhaps start on "about:about" ?

Also rather suspicious for captcha probs are JS settings. For example just came across this diashow, which needed some tweaking - can you see it...? http://www.20min.ch/wissen/history/story/Der-Mann--der-sich-selber-den-Blinddarm-entfernte-10713390

Thanks - always great to see other die-hard fans :D Perhaps some day you can post a link to such a non-working page which isn't too private, but in general, if something works in the corresponding FF version with the same engine inside, it should definitely work in KM too. Could still bet just one of those 100 settings... Perhaps also disable the rather new Firefox "compatibility mode"

PS: Please include the old, fully working USERAGENT macro again! Seems like lately people get more and more "old browser" warnings even with KM75.1. Most have no clue this could be fixed easily in most cases, and instead think this browser were hopelessly outdated and dead. Tsss. I know Mozillas old pref has been dropped long since but keep reading that it still works when added manually

No, no ... I just did some manual changes in toolbar.cfg file that obviously change more than expected ... and also diable other parts (config as menu etc.) No, that's what I've been trying to explain above: Manual changes in toolbars.cfg simply _cannot_ affect the menu structure. Menu structure is done in menus.cfg Of course, both buttons and menus can be changed by macros too, but you

Can't resist, just discovered this little gem on amazon and sounds like one of those brilliant inventions you always wanted but never thought possible - must share in case anyone needs a tip :D A simple looking LED bulb, but dimmable without a dimmer! Works like one of those torch lights, just switching on-off a second or third time, and the lamp toggles between 3 light steps. Not as complicated

You mean you can't find the toolbar config? That would just be a prob in menus, but if so that's due to the default setting in newer KM-versions, which have the menu bar hidden initially, not anything you may have changed in toolbar config. Menus and toolbars are configured in different places. And yes, the new default settings are missing a few important commands. But the toolbar config can a

Ah, just now see from your linked "recaptcha" help page, it does contain a demo! Wise decision from the author  Does this demo work for you or not? http://recaptcha.google.com/recaptcha/demo/ At least this demo seems extremely easy, works fine even in my ancient KM1.6 without any tricks, even with all my usual blocks and UA=FF3.5! I kept procrastinating, knowing this would end up with a novel again, and when finally finished there'd be a simultaneous cross post again and all or half of that wouldn't be necessary anymore and I should have stayed lazy - LOL!
