Yes, it's logical after all, being called TEST sites  That means they must not blindly believe the name tag (as most other web authors, also most video sites), but must actively test which features are really working or not. Just in general and for future readers too, want to point out again a second possible mis-assumption: Such tests do depend on other PREFS/SETTINGS! For example if

KM 1.6: 127/555 points (couldn't resist, LOL!) "you are using an unknown browser that imitates"... my fake. Meanwhile remembered: if your KM is recognized despite UA, it could also be those "vendor" prefs.

No clue either, but sharing your first suspicion that it might have to do with your recent shortcut changes... Does the error console show anything interesting after startup? Did you restart the system again? And what happens when you start a complete, fresh unzipped portable version? In russian OSes something like this happens with K-Meleon when the primary OS language is set to non-latin (c

UAs are just a text string that the browser sends as his "name tag", but has no function in itself. It's up to website authors if they just use this (fake?) string to decide which elements and scripts to send across, or whether they actually do a check which functions exist on the client and which not. And of course there are lots more page elements which may be influenced with it, no

(Such things can only be fixed by Dorian ;-)) Just in case you might not know yet, those X's are mainly useful for newbies, the others use for example a middle-click or doubleclick, saves toolbar space  Settings here: F2 > Browsing > Tabbed Browsin > Tab Bar (look at bottom for various user settings)

Or calling the macro only manually, only when needed, not automatically after every page load ($OnLoad). The catch is that would of course require again a shortcut/menu/button, but if you don't mind that it's another possibility. In that case the toggle could be included.

Just read this a few minutes ago from xper at MSFN. MSFN will be taken offline 12 August 2017. Archive and backup what is important to you. We apologize for such a short notice but we can't do anything about it. Best regards MSFN ... Isn't that also all the old kernelex and other win update stuff? Oh no :( :( :(

KM 76 Pro fixes a few of them, but I've customized my current version very heavily, especially the toolbars (including custom icons) and menus. In 76 Pro I found I'd have to go through a lot of that again. Would just try to copy over your customized files, as they are. Can make things easier for the future too. Worth a try? For example, in the "skins" folder, users can create an own

Nice to see someone playing with macros, happens hardly ever :) statusbar is easy, all it needs is a bit plain text. For this macro would suggest: $_x=getpref(INT,"font.minimum-size.x-unicode"); statusbar("min font size: ".$_x); Yes too tiny fonts are a pain! My own minimum size is permanently at 14 with font Verdana, works quite well. No idea why the KM-default is zero,

Interesting, thanks. Those standard "/watch" views are exactly what I can't get to work anymore. Only in FF10, but that freezes on most pages after a few seconds, just too little RAM. On yt first shows a few seconds video+sound, then video freeze plus but a few more seconds sound, then whole FF frozen. PS have read the "webm" prefs are hardware dependant, only work with I

How does one verify this deeply hidden pref and/or change it then, anyone ?? Same as all prefs, go to page about:config, either type into urlbar or using menu (Edit>Configuration>Browser Configuration) If the pref doesn't show up, right-click and create it (type BOOL)

Do direct links still work for you? Without "embed" or "watch" in the adress, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/v/tvyjZIDuzEM Still works on my ancient KM1.6 and OS, and is also the only chance since a few years. Always thought such links show flash, but now not so sure anymore, could also be mp4. Right-clicking still shows the flash-context menu. And not quite sure if it's ev

I found the answer myself: There is a toolbars.cfg in \browser\defaults\settings. By uncommenting the relevant section the button can be removed. Yeah this is the DEFAULT file, but attention, it's valid for all new profiles too. So a safer way would be to copy it into the current skin folder before customizing anything. Tip: It's possible to manually create an own empty folder next to the

@foliator: no idea if it helps, but read somewhere that choppy videos can sometimes be related to constant session saving. They recommend to TEST with 5 minutes, but for normal session purposes too long of course pref("browser.sessionstore.interval", 300000 );

Aren't there certain Mozilla-prefs to customize this tolerance-level? Perhaps something like that one, or others... javascript.options.strict

Looks the same to me, except that Yogi's is already customized. At the bottom of your own screenshot, there's a button to get more: "add entry" To find the search button, does your skin look similar like the first screenshot on that page? http://kmeleonbrowser.org/shots.php The search button is the little round greenish "globe", directly next to the little "house&quo

General search settings are here, on several "tabs" in the right side: Hit F2 > Browsing > Finding Websites hmm, now see I also have a "Search with... " entry in the context menu, not sure if that's a special macro (SearchPlus) or just a setting. Dim memory coming up... The default menu name for searching was badly outdated for many many years, or perhaps still is?

Hi, just select something and then hit the Search-button! And always a good idea to right-click on buttons, just in case, some have a handy menu there (or add one yourself) It's also possible to type some search terms in the urlbar and then hit the button to search. It's also possible to add search engines as bookmarks, give them a nickname, then type the nick and search terms in the urlb

Another possibility is to load it automatically at startup in the future. That setting is found either in menu Sessions>Options...>Previous Session, or right-click on the home button to find "Start with Session..."

@Yogi Suggestion, perhaps post a screenshot of your "media" and "ipc" hits in about:config? (not from prefs.js, because it doesn't list the default settings)

Whoa... near impossible I'm afraid. I mean, with KM75.1?? XP?? Javascript?? (With that amount of 256 I'd rather recommand KM1.6beta26 and win98 and of course block JS and all sorts of other stuff, plus occasionally a RAM defrag, then 50 tabs become realistic ) As basics: switch on the Privacy toolbar (if enough space), and allow JS only where really needed. The normal settings are found

There are (almost) hundreds of prefs for media playing in gecko, so I strongly suspect such video probs are often just caused by different Default settings. Perhaps flash settings are different, or some others ("media" in about:config) pref("dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll", true); PS Offtopic note to all, just speaking of plugins: Even I can remember that FF drop

Well just the opening itself is obvious, there's a screw. May try it, or perhaps try some flips, just not yet. For the moment still hope it may self-repair, probably wishful thinking but it "seems" already a bit less hot... just really quite warm... Or perhaps it was the first shock that I overestimated the temperature at first... Meanwhile think the system constantly tries to recharge

Well, using JS for all sorts of stuff is a matter of personal preferences, tastes (and hardware) are different  (Edit: oops sorry, overlooked for a moment that it's now run inside a macro via injectJS, that means the web-JS can stay blocked) But the prob with "copying any old macro" is that this keeps perpetuating too complicated code, again and again and again, especially for

It's an old notebook, so everything is very compact and dense. No CD-drive. Slightly hesitant to screw open the battery compartment too, don't trust that at all. Assume that inside it's all soldered fix, not removable. And the battery lid contains also foot #4. Perhaps I should try to flip the whole thing over a dozen more times  Or perhaps with some luck my turn out something self-repairing

AARGH... I thought it was risky flipping over my dusty old box for the first time in years, in another desperate attempt to finally get more RAM and stick in a second plate. But now looks like it was not only useless but rather suicidal :( Because even after removing the new second RAM plate again (which didn't work, as others before, despite all specs being right), now my box starts overheating,

Thanks for the tip! We have a quite similar taste in apps :) Have tried BabelMap yesterday, the version from the homepage, and the current Version9 didn't even start. With or without KernelEx. He's also offering an old Version5 for Win9X on the website, but that one is so extremely outdated and old, it's a joke (8 years old, most emojis missing). Long standing grudge, I'll never understand wh
