(offtopic) Sorry to hear about RL probs :( Had been worrying lately, you didn't post for quite some time, and around the same time had come across a little report about trouble in your area. Hopefully not that.

YIKES... Forget the above. For our experts  The prob is sending mailto-links to a WEBMAIL, due to those eternal mimetypes-config-bugs, at least until 2015. No idea about current KM version?? http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,134340

Do you mean, when you click the mail button in the toolbar, and an input window pops up? If yes, and you want to use gmail, perhaps this works, but am not sure: https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s Test mailto: nobody@example.com But in my old KM1.6 version it either shows an error page, or still wants to open my local mail program :-/ Because this is the default sugg

The 7z versions are all portable, they contain an empty file "profile.ini" which tells KM to look for profiles inside own program folder (more or less "portable", windows itself writes some default registry stuff but not KM itself) PS: if you sign up for an account own posts become editable

Oh and the interesting new $OnSwitchTab event is only half-implemented yet too! It appeared in macros.dll some time ago already (KM76RC1?), and JamesD says it's actually WORKING already, only two tiny definition parts are missing yet in main.kmm, alongside the other event defintions :)

Please consider for next version: Some new users had trouble to maximize/minize the window size, found no buttons for it. But the skin.cfg contains already images for it, so it would be easy to prepare a (hidden?) toolbar too, in toolbars.cfg ============================= Window Size{ WinMin{ windowMinimize|&View Minimize Window (right-click for menu) } WinMax{ windowToggle|&a

Hi, wondering why you use such an old version? Perhaps stuck on Win2000 or such? Currently KM76RC2 is the latest (RC=between beta and final, this is a lot less buggy especially with FF addons compared to older KM versions) Or the previous "stable" was KM75.1: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/download.php?switchlang=en For toggling window size: If the Win task bar is visible, one can righ

LOL! Of course KM-users are not the only ones using fake Useragents to avoid those nasty "outdated browser" barriers on certain pages :D But KM1.6 always was a sibling of FF3.5, and KM1.7 of FF3.6

The download page says gecko 1.8.1.21, but when I open my old installation the useragent shown in Menu>Help is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8.1.23) Gecko/20090825 K-Meleon/1.5.3 Could well be that the gecko engine inside was updated some time later, that was usual at the time. According to this list gecko 1.8.1 is Firefox 2 (!!) https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Moz

Only remember that the RSS macro got rather complicated some versions ago... So just a quick note about the "usual" method to hide/unhide some default buttons. Hopefully works for this button too but not sure: Edit > Configuration > Toolbars That opens the file toolbars.cfg It seems the Mail bar does contain also a RSS button which is only hidden => remove the comment sign

Oh yeah, also just HATE those evil spy methods - but who cares for laws today. GRRR. Even so, and albeit I also have "new" hardware, i disagree with K.Meleon dropping down SSE requirements because then K.Meleon 76 and further just stopped working in many AMD "old" processors RUNNING XP, and maybe others, so I humbly ask you turn back the SSE requirements to K-Meleon 76 Coul

Let's just drop a little notice in Dorian's KM76 thread as a reminder, the rest I'd leave here as is. As long as there are no macros yet that actively use this event it's not worth a new build just for this. And even if we do use this function in a future macro, it can still include the above workaround directly, no need to have it in main.kmm before Dorian includes it himself. So far main.kmm di

Thanks James, and sorry have currently no access to another computer to test myself, but in theory changes in main.kmm should NOT be necessary, if this part is just added inside the snippet-macro itself: $OnSwitchTab ? 0 : $OnSwitchTab=""; OnSwitchTab{ macros($OnSwitchTab); } Is this correct? And in theory it should also do no harm regardless if main.kmm already contains this

Hey great! :D :) :) Thanks for testing James, and thanks of course to Dorian! Just hope he doesn't forget again to finish it next time, first doing the complicated stuff and then tending to forget the last, less exciting bits for GUI and docu ;-) In the past I'd really wished a couple times to have something like OnActivateTab, especially as a tool for quicker resetting some variables or fini

Hmm.... still a tiny chance, perhaps if you add it in main.kmm too, in the block where all the other event-variables are created? Because when I open macros.dll in notepad, it does contain that string among all that binary stuff, and the older macros.dll not yet. Might not mean much, but never know ;-)

It's great to see such encouraging posts occasionally, but such a pity the main developer shows up only very rarely in the forum, sigh. So, just a warm Thank You from a fellow KM fan :) Just curious, what's this with VS2005? For which KM version - 75.1 or 76RC? What happens without it, and which Win OS versions do not contain it natively yet? On the download page it's only mentioned as hint

@callahan, if you like you can edit the title of your 1st post in this thread to include "New Moon" too, then it would show it here as well: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/list.php?12

Am still unsure if the download page should be updated to RC2 as "latest dev version" or not? (and most non-english Download pages even still show KM76-ALPHA from 2015 - yikes!) Not sure about RC1/RC2 because Dorian posted this after his disk crash: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?8,138447,140501#msg-140501 So, I've gathered what I have to make what could be a RC2. But I

This macro is just a quicktoggle for this native Mozilla pref: "intl.accept_languages" It tells websites which languages a user prefers to read, and in which order. In K-Meleon you can change it here: F2 > Page Display > Languages But that requires a dozen clicks, due to subtypes like "en,en-US,en-gb", and if you change your preferred language often, it gets a b

Not likely, but no other ideas and just in case: Those 3 prefs are necessary acc. to LastPass support Can be checked on about:config network.cookie.cookieBehavior = 0 network.http.sendRefererHeader = 2 network.http.sendSecureXSiteReferrer = true This macro checks only at browser start if they are enabled globally, then tells the user if not. If by any chance they are blocked again durin

Hmm, the double login may be a user setting? https://lastpass.com/support.php?cmd=showfaq&id=7446 If you do not have such a LP setting, then perhaps it's some other setting in KM or the macro may need an updated URL inside or something? But am not familiar with this LP function stuff at all, probably rodocop or JohnHell etc. know more. The connectivity error sounds like some outdated ce

Hi mouse :) cannot tell anything about the bookmarks plugin (dev stuff), but if you only want to get LastPass working and if the only prob is storing a script snippet, macros sure can help. lastpass.com also requires permission for 3rd party cookies and https-referers. The current version of the "light" macro is here, discussion should also be continued there: http://kmeleonbrowse

Attention, the contents of the old profile folder are not migrated automatically! They remain where they are and must be copied over manually: After creating "profile.ini" in KM root, restart the browser again, and it will create a new default profile folder inside. Now close KM again, then manually copy over the contents of the old folder (old place) into the new folder.

It's correct yes, except that modern Windows OS may refuse writing rights in the program folder. Am no expert (still old computer), but think you can change it by right-clicking on the profiles folder and changing the security permissions manually. Others can tell better, or perhaps you know it yourself already. While at it, give also permission to the skins folder. Some of us just place the w

Perfect definition Yogi, and looks like we all agree :) siria ... yes you are correct, I saw the download was a 'zip file' and that was a portable file to me, like K-Meleon. Yep, there was the misunderstanding. With any new portable browser in the future, I will be looking for a profile folder or testing it first before I waste my time on settings. It's not a waste, you can still copy

J.G., wouldn't take other opinions so personally each time, even if they are expressed strongly, or you're not going to be happy here. You have strong opinions and so do some others ;-) Just not worth arguing about such peanuts, basically semantics: how "link shorteners" or redirectors should be defined exactly, if they can include interim pages or not etc. That's what John meant to say,

Wouldn't be suspicious just because of profile locations. Different people mean "portable" in differently "strict" ways. For example they can argue if it's enough if: - it can simply be unzipped and works without a "setup" (but profiles land in win userdata) - stricter: it additionally contains the profile in its own program folder (like KM) - yet stricter: it addi

Have looked around a bit in the web, and could it be you have to click some button which always carries the same name to proceed to the real target? Not sure, but if yes, perhaps some OnLoad automatic would be possible, for finding that button, getting its final target, closing current tab and open the real target without user clicks? But no clue, just fantasizing ;-) In one of the older macros

Edited 9 times LOL! I see you're quickly realizing the advantages of posting with an account and happily use them (as do I) (PS: that was offtopic of course :D) (PS2: just to avoid misunderstandings, I'm not saying it's great to edit so much, for example for RSS-readers it's rather a pain and has other disadvantages too, so we should all use it with care only) I could recommend one browser a
