I tried Puppy and it seemed to be pretty good. Have not tried the other one.

My memory is not real good, but was there not a problem with flashblock on 1.5.3 and we got a replacement file "embed.jar" to fix it? I have the embed.jar and a readme that says to replace the orginal, but I did not save a link to the forum thread.

There are many ways to do a screen capture. Everybody has their own favorite. The one I use, which allows printing or saving to file, is described here. http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?1,88686,88687#msg-88687

You can set two items in preferences to do this. EDIT - PREFERENCES - BROWSING - TABBED BROWSING - GENERAL and select "Next to the current tab" and got to TAB BAR and select "Attach tab/window buttons to the tab bar". Mine looks like this http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1522294/newtabright.jpg

KM does not have an event for download completion. Perhaps an external download manager might have that option. I don't use any external download manager myself, so I cannot point you to one. In EDIT - PREFERENCES - BROWSING - FILE HANDLING - GENERAL there is the option to flash the progress dialog at completion. That could give you a visual alert.

Quotesiria Regarding translation: Not sure: What "DATA" are too long? URL? Title? Both? Would it perhaps be ok to just translate to "too many characters" or "line too long?" For the "string" below I'd prefer to just translate into "Favorite too long"... The message displayed has the length of the string, length($_fcmd), and the text strin

Quotesiria Btw, is it intentional that there's no FavRenAdd when right-clicking a link...? Not intentional that it is not there. I just never thought of it. I will see what can be done. I will run more tests on the macro to find any errors. The prefs for new items and menu folder complicate things. It almost needs a help file. Thanks for the translation.

I have cleaned up the code some and added translate for text, _(). I have also started some work on Localizations. The translations are not complete. They came from FavRenAdd and the FRA_combo has much more text. I have put the FRA_combo.7z file here. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1522294/FRA_combo.7z Any help on Localizations will be appreciated.

@ siria I hope I have it complete now. Thanks for the info on prefs and registry keys. I have found that "newitem" is needed but not "menufolder". I have dropped the un-needed registry key. One observation I would make is that if the user uses the preferences panels to have a new items folder or a menu folder within their Favorites folder then it is necessary to have

I am working on combining the three macros and I have some code I don't understand. There seems to be a difference in the pref/registry items used to find the current favorites folder. I will list the code that I am working from. Hope someone can point me to correct set of pref/registry items. Where does "kmeleon.plugins.favorites.menuFolder" come from? I would like to use the

The only reason I use the ASCII version is that it allows much longer URL's to be added. The international version still has a string length constraint. I will have a look at combining all the macros into one. I also need to update the description. I think I will leave the "if" and "macroinfo" statements. Most people should be on a modern version of KM.

@ jsnj Thanks for the information. It does not look so very hard. Once I hear back from siria and desga2, I will try that.

@ siria I agree that FavRenAdd should be in the KM Extentions. The thing is that I have never done an extension. I am used to the "MacroLibrary" http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/KmmFavRenAdd being the share point for these types of things. A bit of history will perhaps help here. FavRenAdd (ASCII) was my first big macro. It is old. I had to ask for and was given quite a bi

Quotesiria I must use the international version, although I'm on win98 and intentionally don't use special characters or blanks in folder- and file names, well, usually, but may well be that the one or other favorites title with pre-set special characters escapes me ;-) Anyhow, the international version works fine, although the error console gives 5 errors in line 41 of the js-file. @ siria I have created a macro which allows switching between the default location and an alternate location for the "Favorites" folder. FavRenAdd will work with it, but both versions, ASCII and international, require your modification noted below. Quotesiria _FavRenAdd_RnameTrue{ #### look two places for the favorites directory $_FavRenAdd_FavFolder=getpref(STRING,"kmeleo

@ siria Good work. I see that I have some catching up to do. Am I correct in that you are changing the pref by hand and not with a macro? I am having a little problem with my computer so that is slowing me down.

Quotesiria Anyhow, the international version works fine, although the error console gives 5 errors in line 41 Small steps first. There were too many pairs of quotes around "execute" in line 41. Replace line 41 with the following code. exec("wscript.exe \"".$_FavRenAdd_Path."\" 3 \"execute\"") ; edit I just saw the other thread and these

I am having problems with the Win 98 box. I will have to work on that. I do not understand how to have favorites anywhere except the standard place. When I use EDIT - PREFERENCES - K-MELEON PLUGINS - IE FAVORITES and try to set the favorites menu ( menu folder ) to anyplace not favorites or a sub-folder of favorites, nothing remains in that text area. There is something I am missing, but I

@ siria Your research is much appreciated. I never noticed that favorites could be anywhere other than the standard place that IE put them. I will have a look at FavRenAdd again to see what changes I can make to increase its usefulness. Which version of FavRenAdd are you using? I had both an ASCII version and an international version. My son has gotten me a machine with Win 98 on it.

Quoteborderline And how about having a New Tab button right aligned in the tab bar? Setting a separate tab with just New Tab in it and sliding it over to the right doesn't really work; it dances around if you change your screen resolution a lot like I do. Try EDIT - PREFERENCES - BROWING - TABBED BROWSING - TAB BAR and check the box which says "Attach tab buttons to tab bar".

@ siria I did not mean that using the right click menu was required. That was just an example. It is just that some action is required to make the macro run. Either an event or some user action such as using the search button. I do not know of a way in the macro language to make the macro run just by selecting some text. However, just because I don't know of a way does not mean there

The macro language has events http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/MacroLanguage2#events, but button release is not included. A specific "copy" function could be added to the context, right click, menu for selected text. A generic copy function is already there, as you noted. It would still require the user to preform the right click and choose an option. Perhaps Autoit has a &qu

@ Alex Can you be more specific about "automatic" copying? Macros require some event or user action to run.

Several years ago I came to KM from IE. Never looked back and don't use IE anymore. I did have a lot of IE Favorites. I use them instead of Bookmarks, with which I have no experiance. It would be much easier for me to copy my Favorites files over to the other computer than to print the list somehow and go to each site and save it as a bookmark.

I am not sure how you want to get to first URL but this change will insert the selected text after "&OTHER_ID=". # K-Meleon Macros (http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?id=MacroLanguage) # # ---------- extra_link.kmm ------------------------------------------------------- # # Dependencies : extra_link.kmm # Resources : - # Preferences

I think you can use the macro language statement "urldecode()" to make the %xx values return to the special character. If I have got this backward and the site prefers %xx to the special character then the statement "urlencode()" will work. See the macro language here. http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/MacroLanguage2#urldecode()
