Hmmm, after more tests it seems that anonymouse.org isn't happy about my new search string for Google. They asked me to fill a captcha before continuing. - Shit- p.s. at the bottom-right of the google page is link where You can change to google.com. A rather cludgy solution since it does not stick. It doesn't stick because Google wants you to subscribe if you want an option that s

@ JohnHell Yes it's because of the IP address. A test with http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www_de.cgi/http://www.google.com confirms it. My new search string for Google: http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www_de.cgi/http://www.google.com/search?complete=0&num=100&q= Thanks JohnHell ! :)

@Günter That's allready set to en-US. The assholes are redirecting because of my IP address. They are trying to force cookies on the user in order to avoid redirection.

It worked fine until lately. Although the search string specifies .com, I get redirected to .de. It's not K-Meleon specific. I get the same frigging redirection in Opera Presto and Firefox too. For whatever reason, Google doesn't respect the TLD specified in the search string anymore. Wonder if there's a decent workaround by modifying the search string for Google?

@ JohnHell 1. Many thanks for taking the time to test! 2. You are right! Sorry, I don't know what went wrong last time I tested. :( I did retest know and flash doesn't get load. At least not until I permit it by clicking the arrow. :)

Hm, but when I play a youtube video, it only starts *loading* when I click the arrow. Before not, or the red progress line would be much further already. Sorry Siria, my bad. I was wrong. :( Tested again and flash content doesn't load until I allow it.

Correct me please if I am wrong but since we are at it, there is no way in K-Meleon to effectively block flash. The FlashBlock extension merely prevents flash content to be played, while the content gets loaded in the background. Only solution I have found so far is to keep the flash plugin invisible for K-Meleon. If I want to watch some flash content I have to fire up another browser where I c

And, also, this image is a little tricky as it has 2 or more colors to make transparent. Look at this zoomed image. There are various greys to remove: http://s19.postimg.org/8f261hb9t/mainbarhot1.png If you want to preserve the quality of the image it is better to keep the grey but transparent: http://i.imgur.com/KizVRx9.png I don't know if IrfanView is the proper tool for doing so

Converted Yogis original 25-kB bmp manually into a 16-color bmp with irfanview, and now it's just 3.2-kB bmp :P :D Just wonder which original 25-kB bmp are you referring to? As for 16-color BMPs, imagine how nice skin they would make. :P

@ JohnHell Hmmm, you can simply open the Aura skin transparent bitmaps in XnView and save them as PNG. For those with magic pink you can use GFIE Pro.

@ JamesD For pixel art BMPs like those of the Klassic skin that don't have complexity in backgrounds/magenta, the easiest way is to use Greenfish Editor Pro. http://i.imgur.com/9MkUUSg.png Save as PNG. That's it. :) Edit: Sorry GFIE Pro may not work on Win98! It might not work on W2K too. At the time I was on W2K I have used an older version. That worked (3.30???).

BMP skins are actually pixel art. If that's always the case then it indeed isn't a deal. The Klassic skin, the only one I looked at, is such an example. and haven't complexity in backgrounds/magenta. I had such images in mind. You can easily transfom a complex transparent PNG with shaded colors into a magic pink BMP, that will look perfect. Copy & paste such a complex transparent PN

@Günter One has to decide what's more important, 100 old skins or an evolving browser. It's just my opinion so don't beat me for it. :) Same applies to extensions. I assume that some of them don't work out of the box already. @JamesD Maybe some of the skiners will update their skins. As for reversing a magic pink .bmp into a transparent .png, it could become a cumbersome task for s

I have rechecked now with KM_74-24 too. No crash. security.tls.version.min is set to 1 as in KM_74-31. Wonder if the site will crash KM for other people as well.

It doesn't crash for me.(Win7/KM_74-31) Did you try with the default settings? Maybe it's an extension that doesn't play nice.

I also have to figure out how I will build a 3 by x array image where type is png. I have a new program that I need to load and try. If you refer to a transparent .PNG like Dorian posted, IMHO that shouldn't be a problem. Freeware will do it.

But still the transparency IS supported for macro-created buttons too - just not on *your* machine. That's too weird, that it works on my age old machine and not on yours! What in the world is blocking it on yours??? Any setting? Any system stuff? I'm afraid it's not only "my" machine. :) Alpha-transparency IS supported from sometime, BUT only for toolbars, produced by t

What system do you have? As mentioned a couple of posts above, Win7. As far as I can remember transparent .BMP wasn't supported on toolbars set by macro in W2K neither. Must admit I tried it not with proxy but my own macro, although I can't imagine that makes any difference. You don't need to set up a proxy in order to test that .kmm but you are right, it is irrelevant which .kmm you take for

Yogi, your two screenshots definitely show *different* images. Of course there are two different images. The first one is from the Aura skin with a transparent .bmp and the second one with a magic pink .bmp. I'd suggest to just take your "black-macro-image" and insert exactly THIS via toolbars.cfg too for testing. Makes no sense to me. If inserted by toolbars.cfg it will probab

Wrong test ;-) The Aura Skin does contain some buttons that appear black in my KM1.6+98se, and others that appear transparent, although in IrfanView ALL bmps look black. There we have it: this can only mean some Aura buttons have partial transparency and some not. Please upload a transparent .bmp (16x16) from the Aura Skin or any other transparent .bmp which you consider to be OK for tesi

@Siria http://i.imgur.com/oj4K4e1.png Testing: Transparent .bmp taken from K-M's Aura-skin and used for a toolbar set by macro. Notice the black background! Looks probably the same as in IrfanView which AFAIK doesn't support transparency neither. http://i.imgur.com/YdeZL1y.png The same toolbar set by macro with my .bmp with magic pink. Am surprised, never heard of that, but then, my own are always magenta anyway. So I just did a quick test now and replaced the image of one of my macro-created buttons with a renamed image copy of aura-mainbar. That has a black background, not magenta, so it does use an alpha channel. And it works! That black background should be transparent. :) Put that transparent .bmp on yout privbar

(or at least bmp with alpha-channel) Is supported since 1.5.4 test versions. All Aura skins *.bmp have alpha-channel. It is not supported for toolbars set by macros. At least I had no success with transparent .bmp and the macro I use. Are you using a macro that can create a toolbar with transparent .bmp or can you at least give an example to test? Anyway it's not an issue, just say

It keeps amazing me, most of the times someone mentions skins they declare to prefer Klassik! Don't be amazed Siria. :) The Klassic skin is my favorite too and I already have all buttons at the same size (priv_bar 16x16). http://i.imgur.com/fFNl4MK.png If the skin is 30 but I don't provide a bmp for size 30, what will happen? IMHO, resizing a bmp to a smaller size shouldn't be

I do prefer K-Mel 74 but it runs a bit slow (on some sites and at odd times) Does Firefox run faster under same conditions? You could test with a portable version. I run FirefoxESR 31 and K-Meleon 74 under the same conditions (one and the same ad filter for both) and I can't see any difference in speed.

Hi, I don't know if it's due to last K-Meleon Setup or to a another install, but I have found an Adware named 'Level Quality Watcher' If you did download KM from this site then it is for sure not related to KM. 'Level Quality Watcher' is an adware that hit also people who have never heard about KM. It gets often bundeled with legit sowftware offered on different sites. Therefore one shou
