Since injectJS() only works when the page has been loaded with JS enabled, that means that "Send Page as Link...", right click menu in Mail/News Buttons, will not work in pages loaded with JS disabled. I really miss the CAPS system. @ JohnHell Speech is OK. Every bit of knowledge helps.

Maybe I got lost. Did I understand correctly?, if you, JamesD, are able to run the injectJS in the 4th scenario: Load a page with javascript disabled, enable after load and run a macro with injectJS command? I'd swear that in the virtual machine with Win7 I just tested now that doesn't work... EDIT: I did with you v3 siria :-? Maybe I did it wrong. Running the VM is a pain arghhhh.

Now let's make it complicated. I wish to get some information from the system that I did not already know. I want to know what is the current day of the week from the system date. "var d = new Date(); dm = d.getDay(); function returnVar(dm){return dm;} returnVar(dm);"); This code was to report back the data, but Dorian says that does not work. So how do I get the data into

Could you please check if it works if you replace the injectJS-line in the testJS-macro with those 2 lines? $_code="document.title='".$_new."';"; $_new=="" ? 0 : injectJS($_code); It works with your new lines. I tried with tests one and four.

I made a change after I saw how you did injectJS(). _Snippet_RunCode { $_Snippet_replace = prompt("Enter new value for page title", "Page title replacement test",$TITLE); $_Snippet_cmdline = "document.title=\"".$_Snippet_replace."\";" ; injectJS($_Snippet_cmdline); } This works for me. It is as you said. Whether or not title changes

@ siria I must not understand your instructions. I tried all of your tests with JS enabled = true and with JS enabled = false. I never got a title change. What I toggle is togglepref( BOOL, "javascript.enabled"); I tried both with a reload and without. This was on Win 7, KM 74 Gecko 31 with update 1. I do not use the privacy bar.

But am running into a major prob again: As soon as a user zooms the "page", which is the default action for mousewheel-zoom, the size looks completely different as when using text zoom only :-( Is there any chance to figure out that $PageZoom size for further use in a macro?? It does seem to exist somewhere, because the status bar shows after a page zoom (by button) exactly the sa

There is a problem with console2 view source. The errors list, but I cannot trace the errors using view source. Any attempt to do so raises an "UNKNOWN PROTOCOL ERROR". The last two errors come from the attempt to see the error in snippet.kmm. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/7431_unknown_protocol.jpg

I am using Win 7 and I have full use of the right-click on page after installing the update. I was crashing before, but KM works fine now. p.s. One probably unrealated oddity. After each restart I hide the Save As Button. An it is there again. After each restart. This has not happened to me. I do not use the default skin, but I did change to it for a test. Did not another user not

After searching three backup drives, I found this old macro. I have not loaded or checked it in at least a couple of years. I have had to resort to using WScript from OnQuit event and having a "wait" period to allow KM to finish writing and release the files in order to do any work on most of the files in my profile.

There may be other solutions, but one that I am using due to my eyesite is this macro. For a long time I only had it increasing the text size but recently I needed to have one site stay at size 10. You would need to change it for text, images, or page. I have it doing text. EaseRead.kmm # K-Meleon Macros (http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?id=MacroLanguage2) # # --------

@ siria When I wrote the macro back in 2007-2008, there was a limit to the length of the command line for the exec statement. Since then Dorian has increased many short limits. I just don't remember if this one got an increase. Below is an excerpt from FavRenAdd.kmm. You can see my comment and the exception that I put in the code. Since I moved the name and URL to prefs, I have only the

I am storing information in prefs because I am too lazy to rewrite FavRenAdd.kmm and FavRenAdd.js to pass variables directly. Years ago the limit was very small for what could be on an 'exec' statement in the Macro Language. Maybe I should re-visit that macro/js system to see if I can pass the location of the js, the name for the favorite and the URL for the favorite in the exec statement. Th

The system that I use to create IE Favorites lets me rename the favorite and place it into a folder other than Favorites root. The macro language writes two prefs to hold the name and url and executes a js file to read the prefs and create the favorite. Obviously the js reads the temp file which has the data before conversion. This works fine when the data is ASCII, but not so good when UTF-8.

The conversion does not seem to happen in real time. I tried putting a value in prefs.js and reading it in the same session. That did not work. After a restart the value was correct, but by then I had already used it and it did not work to make a Favorite's name. By the same token, if you are keeping a list in a pref then the list may have bad data until a restart. I am saying the data is b

I see two possibilities. One is that Dorian picks the numbers and the other is that he has an algorithm. If it is the latter, that is all we need.

Perhaps test if converting your prefs.js to utf-8 and writing manual entries in it will stick? Wonder if there's only a prob with adding settings through xul or something, no idea. Hmm, or another little test, change this post title to contain сайт, save the session and check prefs.js again? I did not have to change prefs.js file. I went to file with Notepad++ to make the change and i

Is it time to consider what changes must be planned for the coming inclusion of utf-8 strings in domain names? I no longer think there is a regression regarding passwords. Versions of KM prior the 'development' version of 74 using the 31 engine have never asked to save login information for either myway.com e-mail or 'Wells Fargo' which is my bank. I was used to and comfortable with that situation. In one session this week, I used the KM74 Gecko 31 version to go to my e-mail on myway. I was surpri

Another possible regression is the password manager system. I went to Myway.com e-mail using the KM 74 w/ Gecko 31 engine. I signed in as usual by typing my id and password. Only this time KM asked if it should remember it. It has never asked before. I said "yes" but next time it did not put my information into myway's input fields. It also asked for my bank, but I said "n

Lack of favicons on tab labels makes it difficult to discern the identity of each tab when I open a lot of them. For me, therefore, a favicon isn't just another pretty face. It's a key factor for efficiency in the way I surf. You can use F2 Preferences to change the minimum width of each tab. Look in Browsing - Tabbed Browsing - Tab Bar for place to change the width. Also in the KM 74 Ge

I can confirm siria's observations about the multi-line tab bar. Sometimes 2 tabs will not appear, but when I open one more, they all appear. There are actually sixteen tabs in this picture. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/SixteenTabs.jpg When I reached eighteen tabs, the two missing tabs appeared. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/EighteenTabs.jpg

The URL in the addressbar changes to that of the page I should go to when I log in (checked with other browser) but I am not logged in and remain on the login page. Could this all be a cookie problem? I assume the site sets a cookie when I login but it is somehow not working in k-mel? It is a cookie setting. @ guenter You are right about no underscore in forum. I don't think it is your machine. I get underscore elsewhere, but not the forum. And all this time, I thought I was doing so good on my spelling. Now, I just don't know. That explains why the button "Save As" shows up after every new start and must be toggled off again. I have not seen that. Oh wait, you said 'button'.

I had hoped that Mozilla would continue the CAPS. Maybe it is later version, perhaps 32, when they bowed to pressure and put it back into the code. I have a fallback position in place. It is ugly, but better than nothing. I just copied my whitelist sites into the pref that JS_Flag uses. NOTE! That copy is all you can do while the right-click problem remains because the controls are in t

@ guenter I extracted a new copy. I added a 'dictionaries' folder with English dictionary at the root level. I changed the pref value from 0 to 2, and restarted KM. I then loaded the page at http://www.myway.com/ and typed the word 'Carrrots' into the ask search bar. KM 7431 underlined the word in red because I had put 'rrr' when I should have put 'rr'. Do you get the red underscore to ind
