I do not know if it is the search string or not. I rather think that it is geolocation or ip related. I am in the USA and I got google.com when I searched. I know little about proxy servers, but maybe using a proxy located in an area where google goes with .com might work. This is just a guess. I see that Guenter posted while I was typing. His answer is likely better.

Regarding browser.urlbar.matchBehavior browser.urlbar.default.behavior I have not found that the prefs, or any control for them ever existed in K-Meleon. I have created a menu item for their control. To be correct there needs to be a default included in kmprefs.js file. After line 40 add the following line: pref("browser.urlbar.matchBehavior", 1); // Mozilla default b

It will be ready when Dorian has it done. There is a great deal more work to change the engine than was the case a few years ago. Also there may be a new toolbar system included.

@ siria In KM 7431 I don't find the item that you noted in the Preferences. Am researching more now. Edit: The tab "Search Button" which was in 1.6 is not in KM 7431.

I see the same open method when using Win 7. I think the method comes from this pref. kmeleon.plugins.macros.searchtyped.openurl On my system the pref is default, string, "opentab". I did a modify and changed the value to "open". Now my searches open in the original tab. Just for information, that pref's name does not appear in search.kmm nor do I have any knowledge

@ Rain I should have fixed the position but I was in too much of a hurry. Change one item in this line of code to move the position to the top of the menu. setmenu("I&mage", macro, "Open Internal", Image_in_RunCode, "ImageView"); Also, if you prefer different wording for the menu item, that is in the same line.

Did you get the correct item in the menu? ( New item is at bottom of menu) http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/Open_internal.jpg This is my results. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/ResultofOI.jpg In this case I had only one window with only a single tab in it. The image loaded in the same place as the forum thread.

@ Rain Pretty much like you wrote, but with some more complexities. You should create a text file and copy and paste the code in my post into it. The code part begins with the line: # K-Meleon Macros (http://kmeleon. . .... and continues to include the line: $macroModules=$macroModules . "Image_in;"; The file when saved should be named Image_in.kmm Notepad likes to put th

@ Grizz Are you sure that what you are copying is getting into the clipboard? Do this as a test. Copy just as you have been doing, but instead of pasting into KM, open Notepad and paste there to see exactly what is in the clipboard. The next question is where in KM are you pasting now? If you have an item for which you wish a search performed, then copy as normal and once in KM click on t

I think this will do it. Create this macro. Put it in macros or user macros folder and restart KM. There should be a new item named "Open Internal" in I&mages. I may or may not have done this correctly. I changed one image in NewPhoenity skin. Before: 25 KB http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/mainbarhot.bmp After: 3 KB w/compression at 8 http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/mainbarhot.png I don't know if the new image is correct or not. Now that I have seen the preview here, I doubt that it is correct. PNG does save a lot o

I am not sure. I went to site with KM 7431 and could only hear the children. I then went to preferences and un-checked Flashblock. When I reloaded the page I could see and hear the children. I don't use a whitelist for flashblock. One thing is that the page is presenting HTML 5 video first and flash second. There is an item in the upper left corner to change that.

So if I make the background magenta, I don't need alpha channel? I save in png format. Ok, I read more and see what to use in Infranview.

@ Yogi and guenter I have a bunch of software for images. Upaint, Xnview, Infranview, and Color Quantizer, I just cannot seem to find instructions on creating the alpha channel. I think all of the software might show the alpha channel, but I don't have any idea of how to change magenta or any other color to alpha. Guenter, you noted that I might have to change from bmp to gif first. Will

As for reversing a magic pink .bmp into a transparent .png, it could become a cumbersome task for some images. Suddenly, I get the feeling that there is something I should know, but I don't. Does magic pink work in a PNG or do I need to convert that to alpha channel?

Well he have more than 100 old skins. Will they be usable still? All would require updates. I was going to try to make some compliant with KM 74, but now must wait to have a working KM with new methods before I can start. The question is "Can I change the skins?" What about the authors' permissions? Are some skins or images copyrighted?

I went back and tested in KM 74 with 24.7 engine. It is exactly like siria described. If a macro changes the javascript the privacy bar button checkmark does not change. If I do the same test in KM 74 with the 31 engine, the results are different. Reloading the page will change the checkmark to catch up with the change made by the macro. I wonder if the macrolanguage could have an "e

Actually, I like the first method better than the XML method. Either one is different from our current design, so some learning will be required. We would need to be able to have comments at the top each file and once the design is explained there, I think understanding will be more easy. I think it would be easy to have an unused button. The buttons are identified by "commands"

I was able to make this image using XNVIEW. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1522294/Tool.png Did I get the order, top to bottom, correct? It is going to be interesting to figure out what "command" is to be assigned to each image. Some of them no longer show in Klassic as I use it. I want to try the privbar next, but which current bmp goes on top. There are two choices - gr

But also have a look to icons.cfg again and you'll see that for some icons there are various commands per line (for home and bookmarks) between "[ ]". So for your examaple would be: ["bookmarks(Edit)", "favorites(Edit)", "hotlist(Edit)"] Good catch! I missed that. Oh, well, back to studying and pondering about how Klassic will look. I also ha

It appears that each column of buttons is identified by the "command" assigned to it in icons.cfg. The command is then matched to "action" in the file toolbars.cfg. What we would lose is the ability to use a button for anything other than its intended command or action. In the case of Klassic skin the tool.bmp[7] is reused for bookmarks(Edit), favorites(Edit), and hotlist(

OK, not for actual use yet. Will all the current skins become obsolete? What about the macros which make toolbars and buttons? Will custom bmp files need to be converted to png files. If the current bmp is a single image, will it need to be repeated so that it is a 1x3 array? It looks like the png is an array. Do we assign the image to the button using the list in "icon.cfg"?

if you're talking about folders, for the km-open tool, don't forget it's only for Linux users. I think we are speaking of different things. I don't have a Linux yet. The system of which I am describing is to "close and re-open KM upon the click of a button which the system builds. In any case how would the system writer put C:\Program Files or E:\Program files into a 7-zip for dis
