I'm working (though in the background mode) on the brand new skin for KM TWin, so I decide to create some versions of it (like in AuraAlpha case) - full, compact and 'chromed' - last using techniques froim this thread. Thank you, comrades!

'Based on firefox' - isn't correct thesis. K-Meleon is based on the same BROWSING ENGINE like firefox. Engine is the back-end entity, the part that takes webpages from server and renders the code to display them in graphic view. But the 'shell' (window with its borders, toolbars, buttons, menus etc.) is the separate part of browser. So FF and KM share the same engine, but have different 'sh

Thank you guenter and JohnHell. secretman, you behave like a troll now. Well, you're a good troll as you help us to know something new about kmeleon :P but all the same it isn't good way to communicate. We told you more than once that KM is just one of the browsers available and isn't The Magic Box for all possible wishes. Some things could be made, some couldn't - but if you want to us

most pages with active scripts get focus correct. But simple pages without active content (for example, mobile versions) are not focused in general. You need interact with some active content on the page (I usually use right-click on any linked content) or with urlbar to 'activate'. And this one is new problem of KM74 only. No such a glitch in 1.6. The second one is the old bug - it a

The newer browsers hog resources and are slower on machines with limited resources. That's why next Twin will contain KM 1.6 too. 74 will replace 1.7

I have many problems with gmail on some browsers: Gmail has two different GUIs - standard (modern) and simple (light, for old browsers). Modern GUI eats lots of RAM and CPU. So, the old stable K-Meleon automatically is switched to light interface, that isn't so automated and script-rich like modern one. That's why stable KM performs good there. But you can switch your GUI any time

Also you can move existing profile with some manual workaround. In Profiles folder you should see the file profiles.ini. Want to move current profile folder? Well. 1) Close Kmeleon. 2) Move profile folder where you need. Copy full path. 3) Open profile.ini (which should remain in Profiles folder) with text editor (loke notepad) and make changes for your profile. You'll see smth like this

Ricks, what are you trying to do with command line. Start new profile? What is described by guenter is the start of different portable installations of KMeleon every one of them having its own profile directory inside. 1. Make new folder for new KM instance. 2. Make the windows shortcut for k-meleon.exe 3. Get into shortcut properties and add to the start path of the object '-new' paramet

I think we'll need to wipe out all the mozilla's prefs and files that do not work in K-Meleon - for stable release when it comes to this. And now I think the right solution is delete this pref.

'Locale' is not a 'location'. KM selects place for your profile itself (if full installation than it is created in User Application Data system path; if portable - under rootfolder of KMeleon). Locale stands for the 'localization' - it selects the GUI language.

clutterless, why not to use oGet extension? It works without any plugin and with different download managers including your personal choice whatever it is.

We are not magicians :D Everyone should feel free to choose his tool. But no one tool is perfect for everyone. KM has widest possibilities to set it up and tweak, but not endless ones. Enjoy Chrome or use KM in the way it could be used ;)

That site is alive like KM in 2012 :( There is an admin somewhere, and thanks to him I can post news there. But that's all. No linking. No upload. May be sometime... in future... or not ;-) That's not under my control. Ru-community almost disappear. The old team had left project completely, and me was brand new 'generation' not in contact with old team except Alex Tarantul which had some emai

Deleting places.kmm removes the unneeded menu entry which is also non-localizable (as I understand, menu item was not determined as variable - but I may be wrong). So to delete is a good idea for me!

What about the russian website? What do you mean? Is it there some russian website about KM which is supported by me? There is only The K-Meleon Place and its Russian blog, that I've created on Weebly free website-constructor. It has serious limitations on the file size to upload, but small things can be stored there. I'm an web-administration and webdesign idiot, so I use some free and e

For not making more threads. I've gathered together all files involved in History fix, published by JamesD. Dorian, you can get this file and use it in the next update. Well, it contains now zero-sized places.kmm which normally should be removed at all. But I've made this archive for current users in order to fix issue in simple 'unpack and forget' way.

James, I've made kmm-file from your code and put in Extensions subforum for secret man and other unexperienced users. secret man, this is thread for you - there you'll find the attached file and simple instruction for adding it to your k-meleon.

This is extension by JamesD which sets the CTRL+SHIFT+M accelerator for toggling menu and toolbar on/off in Full Screen mode. Download an attachment. Just place this file in your 'macros' folder inside K-Meleon root folder. Restart K-Meleon. Now CTRL+SHIFT+M toggles menu and toolbar while in Fullscreen mode.

i do not have print screen key It MUST be present. Look for 'PrtSc' or something like this abbreviation (laptops do have small keys, so they need to use short labels). Or you can use any freeware screenshooter for windows. I recommend 4sharedShot. It allows make shots, edit them and upload to your 4shared account for web sharing - all in one! In Chrome when we move coursor to top then

and one more point. Dorian, couldn't you give me some small space quota on server (or maybe on kmext like fred) and write authority to the file storage for some working files as I'm now the leading russian 'developer' and sometimes I'll need the room to store K-meleon files. There is no problem if not - I can store them on the web, but I think it would be right to store main things like loc

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Layout.spellcheckDefault I think it checks the language of the content of the page to select a dictionnary. Anyways, kmeleon does not support spellcheck since it should be handled by the context menu. This pref sets working status of spellchecker in FF: 0 - off; 1 - on for multiline fields (default value); 2 - on for all fields. And yes, for kmeleon we nee

Dorian, I've made some important changes in locale and some general files, so I ask you please to download it once again! List of changes: 1) updated netError.xhtml and netError.xul files (with right folder structure) added the change inside them is: <!ENTITY % netErrorDTD SYSTEM "chrome://global/locale/netError.dtd"> changed to <!ENTITY % netErrorDTD

I've dug it already in about:config :D No matter what is there. Moreover, there is another pref: layout.spellcheckDefault which should set speller on/off but it doesn't matter, what value it has. Even the absence of this one makes no difference! ;-) Spellchecking either works in the build (and only with en-US.dic) or not at all.
