I try to post a second item but I get said its a hack attempt. How can I avoid this ? Happens all the time when starting to write a post and then toggling cookies off before sending. The post still knows "I am logged in" but the forum says "no way there's no cookie, something's fishy" ;-) Or something along those lines...

Hey cool that someone knows that macro :D But am afraid in that case it's not really going to help him :-/ Are you sure there was a true sidebar before KM1.5?? Am not sure, that was before my active forum time, but thought having read later that sidebars just aren't possible in KM. But who knows, with KM progressing so fast at the moment, perhaps there's a chance in the future...

Of course that's up to the user... IMO automatic web downloads are a hassle, so I would let him choose weekly or manually...

A macro for quick MASS TOGGLING of several KM-PREFERENCES at once: http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/file.php?9,file=1276,filename=Blockeria_screen1.png There are 3+1 groups prepared as example, a red one (B for block max, or bandwidth saving), yellow (for normal settings), and green group (L for Load max). But please CUSTOMIZE them as you wish. It's also rather easy to ADD as many NEW groups

No idea about speed, but having TONS of sessions myself, they bloat extremely my old KM1.6 prefs.js up to 1.6MB - it's a mess inside! Always strongly wished to have them separate, and only store settings in prefs.js. Glad that is possible now, although not yet for my machine ;-)

Sorry, but if it stinks then it's definitely a user fault here  It's called statusbar, and can be toggled here: View > Status Bar It has a shortcut, Ctrl+Shift+S, so you probably hit that accidentally.

Not sure how much that prefetch-link thing will eat too, or if perhaps it only works in background if enough ressources are free or not, like windows search? At any rate I'd check those "prefetch" settings in about:config. Also have a look at permdefs-macro, it creates a menu to easier toggle stylesheets, iframes etc. via native gecko prefs.

Works for me, in 1.6 and 75.0 (75.1 not yet installed): cursor in urlbar, arrow down, choose an addy, arrow right -> cursor moves in urlbar

What I would do is simply append the whole "_Go" menu there

Sigh... what a nightmare. Why is it that over centuries things always got improved, but now that a few single people have almighty pseudo-monopolies they can make things worse and worse and hardly anyone can defend?! Wherever one looks. So, would it perhaps be possible to revoke that owner-permission again, after installation of a macro, skin config etc.? On the other hand, in theory it could

Perhaps for better security not the whole KM program folder would be necessary, just the profiles folder, but don't know (and for special rare actions perhaps also skins etc)

Since the last update I often get kinda weird errors when trying to post, being somehow pseudo-logged in but not fully, and when posting there's a strange error message. Something with needing a trouble ticket and fixing it myself by clicking a link and emailing boisso (dorian)... Cannot quite figure out why and how to fix reproducable, sometimes it helps to clear cookies and log in again, but mo

Sounds familiar, but thought that's long since fixed... but others know better. Perhaps you're on an old version? (If yes, make a backup of the profile folder before updating, the latest version is 75.1RC) Anyway, does it get better if you go to "about:config" (Edit>Configuration>Browser Configuration) Confirm the warning if one appears Type "restore" into filter lin

Ah, never suspected this could be another menu type as all others :-/ Well, pity, so guess it's a case for adding to the FAQ: Users shall just do it the K-Meleon way: If some text-address is highlighted on the current page, then just click the Go-Button, no copy-paste necessary at all. If the address is in the clipboard, right-click on the Go-Button instead of URL-bar and "Paste and Go&qu

Don't know, except perhaps toggle "objects" permission which after RELOAD denies all embedded stuff... but please give more info: which KM version?? (only older versions play them as flash, which could be killed with Tools/Privacy/Kill) Do you want to block only a few selected ones on a certain page? (no idea how, perhaps others?) Anyway, please describe more exactly what you need..

Just stumbled across this interesting link: http://www.klaus-hartnegg.de/gpo/2014-08-21_Firefox_steals_pdf.html Now wonder if it might help in such cases to set those prefs? pref("pdfjs.disabled", true); and perhaps also (whatever that does exactly, not sure...) pref("plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types", ""); ----- Ah, and an extremely detailed lis

Stumbled across a fascinating little Firefox changelog - the fascination lies especially in the shortness, just a few lines per Version :D And also very interesting due to focus on privacy, security, new FF phone home features etc. "Subjective selection of those changes to Firefox, which are probably relevant for admins or helpdesk." http://www.klaus-hartnegg.de/gpo/firefox_changes

Yep, and of course I've long since added that myself too :) Similar, not on page context, but on the Go-button which has the traditional menu for such stuff (menu "_Go_Clipboard") Called it "Paste and Go in new page", since there is already a native command for "Paste and Go". But in real life it turned out I still just paste into urlbar and just hit Return... A

Some 1-2 years ago I had such a "nervous" mouse too, and yes, it was a pain! As a solution I too have changed the tabbar-settings on double-click to some nonsense number, so that it simply didn't do anything. A while later finally got a new mouse, and oh wonder - all probs were solved!

Hi, and thanks for posting instead of trashing it right away :-) No idea what causes this, but last November there was a similar "profile bug" already, but was fixed. Hopefully Dorian can figure this one out too. Do you have that prob only with "default" or also the other profile? Just a few random thoughts for testing... if you check "Ask at startup", then close

Great thanks, but wondering why scroogle site-search is now commented..? (L-416) And line-172 contains now some js-code - perhaps an accidential leftover from some tests?

You too rodocop :) (PS: and thanks for your help over there ;-) Frankly I've installed that nice macro since years too, but being a fast typer find myself just typing away in the URL bar, instead of digging through my (extra long) search menu - so never noticed this! Oops... ;-) (easy, just placing the mouse in the beginning of urlbar and inserting "g site:" and at the end the sear
