Hi, 3) a quick search says Linux may be missing some plugin for that page? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1038540 In this case it ought not to work with Firefox under Linux. But it works with Firefox ... 2) google plays some evil tricks lately, was it for youtube that "ALL cookies" must be allowed? Perhaps also for translation sounds? During my tests, I don't bl

Hi, opening the sound configuration box and choosing Applications, when I try with Firefox, I see that a CubeUtils stream is opened. It would perhaps necessary to add a mimetype for this type, but I think it's necessary to know the exact syntax of the mimetype. A+

Hi, I have the same problem. Where you you find informations about this fix ? I found nothing. The first thing ought to know which type of stream it is. Have you tried to install rvjmimedit and my tool to execute files under Linux. A+

Linux isn't Windows ... If you install updates, there is no risk. The only need could be a product to scan download files to avoid transmitting some virus to Windows users. In this case, have a look to clamscan and clamtk. A+

Hi, Carson, I think you do not know the French tradition of caricature and the press that was pursued by the authorities since about the 1850s (Daumier ...). These were not muslims. You do not know what is Charlie-Hebdo. Not an ordinary newspaper but a newspaper that lampooned people acting selfishly or violent manner towards others. And Muslim fundamentalists are those. They are also not th

As this thread contains a really great number of silly posts, I begun to remove post by post these stupidities. Due to the number of posts to delete, I obviously failed during the process, and remove the thread instead of a post. As someone will probably post again for this problem, or a related one, I create it again, reproducing a post of Guenter, which must answer to these questions. I'm

Guenter, If websites were all giving types for files, it should not be a problem, and the first example I think of is 7z files where we must precise to download it instead of open it when clicking on such links (K-meleon 7z files wer in this case). But it's not the case, and a bit ennoying, but another reason of the necessity of rvjmtypes, and you know it, is the use under Linux, to allow to

Obviously it is better to spend on ReactOS than stay on Windows. But why always peddle these cliches : Linux is easier to use than Windows , less greedy and more secure ... I install Linux for aged persons who have often never touched a computer , and they are doing very well in and quickly ... The tests that I could do ReactOS , are not entirely satisfactory , and well below Linux.

Hi Dorian, I have found the reason of the problem concerning zoom (RC2, RC3) Reset works for zoom image with Left or Right Ctrl key, but not for zoom text+image. Alt-+ or Ctrl-Alt-= >>> Ctrl-Multiply => ok Ctrl-+ >>> Ctrl-Multiply => nok A+

Theorically yes, but, perhaps due to wine, ou Linux, I don't know, it seems there is a difference. But sometimes, it works one time, and in the same session doesn't work anymore... Curious ... I haven't find what could make it not to work anymore. A+

Hi, Dorian, I have tried another test which was to use right CTRL key instead of left one, and CTRL VK_MULTIPLY works. So I think that Linux doesn't handle left and right CTRL keys like Windows. Is there a way to bypass it ? Thanks A+

Hi siria, I have tried with VK_DECIMAL, and I haven't been able to make it work. I have then disabled VK_F2 (Preferences), and set it to reset zoom, and it works. So the other tests I made has perhaps failed because : - the key isn't handled in k-meleon - the key isn't handled in linux - the key was already used for another purpose. Is there a way to list all the used keys by K-Mele

siria, The fact that increase/discrease shortcuts were also defined bugs me a little, and I didn't think of a macro. But I haven't been able to find a key to do it. What is the names of the key Del of numeric pad ? VK_DEL ? I don't success ... probably that these keys aren't defined in k-meleon.exe ? Thanks A+

The Ctrl-Kp_Multiply ( keypad *) works under Win 7 for text zoom. The Ctrl-0 thru Ctrl-9 keys are assigned to the Hotlinks system in KM. So, I confirm, it doesn't work with Linux. Is-it possible to assign another hotkey ? Thanks A+

No trouble under Linux ... But comparing the features between Firefox and K-Meleon, to reset the zoom, Firefox uses Ctrl-0, and K-Meleon Ctrl-Kp_Multiply Nice, except I don't know were is this key ... Ctrl-Kp_Multiply I tested wit Ctrl-* on keyboard and numpad, but it seems not to be that, or it don't work under Linux ... Thanks A+

Hi, Here is what I think 1) create a profile to do that 2) Use a macro (in profile/macros) which opens with openintab() all your addresses, and which is launched at startup ( onInit ?) 3) If addresses are always the same, nothing more to do that launch k-meleon with -p option, else make a bat which creates the macro file with the needed addresses and which launches k-meleon with -p option.

These problems are listed here, and for each, I give the way to remove it : Extension or wine version. 1) Running K-meleon on a wine version under 1.6 fails => Install of the needed dlls to upgrade a 1.4 wine version to 1.6. Have a look to this thread 2) mailto links aren't working => tuxhelper is now included since K-Meleon 74.0 setup. Just use right-click instead of left-click.

Dorian, It works nicelly under Linux. No more transparency problem. Does the way you used can give the possibility in macros to test the os. It should no more need the bad test I done and allow to use an official kmeleon variable, Thanks A+

@JamesD In fact we have the transparency problem with new way under Linux. It's due to the comctl32.dll version installed. There is no simple way to correct it, except for Dorian using C or C++ to test if it's Linux, and then use the old way. As rodocop have a similar problem, I thought it was for all XP version, but it seems not to be the case. If it was, the test ought to be made in

@ rodocop Humm ... it's what I saw : version is given two different values 5.82xxx and 6.00.xxxx Curious way to number versions. There is a way to detect Linux, probably XP, and then perhaps choose old way for XP and Linux, and new way for Windows post-XP ? A+

Sorry for having miss these answers. I have made a test with the last tools.png you have send, but it doesn't change anything. In fact I saw it later, the privacy toolbar is completly bad, the images ok were in fact given by check.png (as siria said). In fact, as you have probably saw it, it seems that it's a comctl32.dll problem. Dorian has made a patched version, and the icons are ok wi

I'll put a bug on wineHQ bugtracker. As a temporary solution, isn't it possible to test the OS, and if it's Linux to use the solution which works for Linux, else use the solution now used by K-Meleon. JujuLand http://wiki.winehq.org/DeveloperFaq#detect-wine Nice ... are you ok to include this test ? Seems simple ... for you Thanks A+

Perhaps in WinSxS Humm ... I have found this folder but inside, even if it says it's 6.00.xxx, resHacker found it's 5.81 On a forum I found this: Note Comctl32.dll version 6 is not redistributable but it is included in Windows XP or later. To use Comctl32.dll version 6, specify it in a manifest. For more information on manifests, see Enabling Visual Styles. First, it's not redistribuable,

Windows has both version of comctl32, v5 was default, v6 used when app request it. Something is wrong with wine, you should ask in wine forums. Perhaps, but how is installed v6 on Windows ? Is it a native version coming with a Windows version, or a packet we can install ? And in this case, where to found it ? I haven't able to find it on Microsoft update. A+

This should write a file comctl.txt in your profile with the version detected. You need 6 (minor number is not important) It returns 5.81. It's the version of the wine placeholder Having a look with resHacker, it confirms it : VALUE "CompanyName", "Microsoft Corporation" VALUE "FileDescription", "Wine Common Controls" VALUE "FileVersion&q

That's what I thought. KMeleon fails to see that you have comctl32 v6. Could be a wine bug. Yes, I found that the version is 6.0.2600.2982 Which is the minimal needed version ? A+

As a side note, I tested that .exe under Windows 2000 to see if it fixes something too and that breaks again the old skins system transparencies returning to black backgrounds. It breaks, or doesn't repair ? For Linux, it repairs for old and new skins. I'm not requesting a fix. Me, I am  A+
