ndebord ... I tried the instructions you printed ... Right click on MY COMPUTER from Start Click on Advanced, then Environment Variables Scroll down through System Variables until you find your temp and tmp settings. That is where Windows XP will store temporary files. ... but I still could not locate the video files anywhere. I see the temp and tmp settings but I'm not sure wha

N ... I have IBM Thinkpad T series notebooks ... I intended to stay with Windows 98SE when I bought them ... they were listed as the last T series notebook models to work with Windows 98SE but I could never get the Wi-Fi to really work right, just too many problems ... I gave up and finally went to XP and the Wi-Fi is flawless, just works great. Have a few things I don't like about XP but I

Thanks ndebord ... would have never figured that one out ... still getting used to this "new" OS, even though it's obsolete and getting older every minute.

Hi ... need some help on finding my downloaded YouTube videos. I no longer have Windows 98SE on my computer and just switched to XP last month (June). When I had Windows 98SE installed I had no trouble finding the downloaded "tmp" videos. I can't find any downloads since I switched to using K-Meleon with Windows XP. Where exactly should I look in the Windows folder to find the down

Hi ndebord I was under the impression that you had already hexed FP version NPSWF32_11_2_202_233_Hex.7z ... I downloaded your file from "NPSWF32-all versions" and saw that it is the same version as the one I posted about. So I think we are OK on this or am I wrong? I haven't been looking for any new links since I saw that you were working with the same version. duffy

... yes, I confirm that the link is indeed dead. If I hear about or find another link, I will post. I didn't hear anything negative about this version, nobody posted anything ... someone must have downloaded it and tried it out ... but to have a newer version still with Windows 98SE is something I think. It would be nice if it could be patched for videos.

Hi all .... someone at the MSFN forum under Windows 98SE has posted a link to Rapid Share for this new portable version of Flash Player. I just tried it and it seems to work OK ... I have been at some Flash Player test sites and everything seems to work. This is at the Windows 98SE forum but it probably will work for other OSs ... I'm posting everything here so others can confirm that it a

Matt ... I have been using this User Agent and so far have had good luck with it. I don't see the "out of date message" so far at YouTube and such. I don't do Facebook so I don't know about that site. I tested K-Meleon at a User ID page and it says I am using IE8 on Windows 7: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/4.0) I am using this with Wi

siria ... I have installed the new version of KernelEx over the old version on 3 computers and have had no problems. I only did this because the author of the program said it was OK to do so ... from the KernelEx thread by Xeno86: Additional information: Compatiblitity tab has been added to ease configuration – no more editing configuration files manually. Also the installer is now more f

Thanks snuz2 for the information. I played around with it for 2 days but gave up on it. Still use KM 1.5.4 and KM 1.6 Beta 2. They really still work OK for me most of the time ... use 1.6 Beta 2 more though, that may be the last version to work half decent with Windows 98SE and KernelEx. I've not had much luck with Fred's 1.6 versions but I haven't tried any versions lately. si

Hi siria ... yes I have the k-meleon (exe) set to Windows XP SP2 but that brings up an interesting question. In this 1.7 version there is a "k-meleon exe" and also a "k-meleon original exe" ... this was not in the KM 1.6 version, just a "k-meleon exe" by itself. Wasn't sure what to do so I went ahead and set them both to Windows XP SP2. I take it you must be usi

Just found out about this newer Alpa version yesterday. I am using it on Windows 98SE with KernelEx as I also am able to use KM v1.6 Beta 2 with KernelEx. Back to KM v1.7 ... so far everything seems to be working OK but I have a question about installing extensions with the KM Extension Manager. For example, when I try to install Flash Video Saver I get this pop up box with the following informat

Well the mystery is solved, sort off. I don't think the User Agent setting had anything to do with anything but I was finally able to get the KM 1.6 B2 download to actually download. I also use a program called Proxomitron on my computers, with Win 98SE and the new XP setup. I have used the program for years and have always been able to download anything ... however, I just noticed a little

Ok ... finally back online ... guenter, I was able to get that download from the link in your last post ... siria, I only work with the settings in the "Privacy" tab but I will check into everything you mentioned to check. I have two pages opened now ... the KM home download page for KM 1.6 zip download page and the page that guenter supplied in his first message. They have been opened

Well I'm having no luck ... neither link would work for me ... I get to the page that says " your download will start shortly" and the download never starts. I wait for a minute or two ... over the weekend I tried many mirrors and got nothing. I tried your suggestion ndebord, about trying IE also. Same thing, I get the "Your download will start shortly" and nothing happen

Thanks ndebord ... guenter for the links. I will have to wait till later tonight (less than 2 hours) when I will have more time to get the download. I'm on cellphone minutes now and "free" time later. I don't why the download wouldn't start, it may be a setting somewhere in my KM browser, if I discover something, I will post. siria ... I only have "Popups" bl

Tried yesterday and today to download from the KM home page the KM 1.6 Beta 2 - 7zip portable package without installer. I click on English and it says it will start to download in 5 seconds but no download will start. Have tried several other mirrors. Any help appreciated ... can others get the portable download to start? ... thanks

snuz2 ... I take it you are using Win 98SE or FE ... Are you also using KernelEx with Fred's updated 1.6 with 2012 SM gecko version? I never tried that version ... tried something by Fred and it sort of messed my other KM 1.5.4 up, must have been the 1.7 line. I see 2013 has come out ... if you try that, let me know if it works ... I am going to look around for v2012, don't know if it w

Yes, that comes back to me now about FF being a memory hog ... heard that a few years back but I would have thought newer versions might have fixed all that. All the input is interesting.

Thanks siria for the information. That program RAM DefXT also looks interesting. I am going to download and experiment with it. I never gave KernelEx a thought ... could be something to that. When KM freezes up and I have to close it, my computer still runs OK, it's not frozen so I don't have to reboot, just restart KM. I might also be doing a download when it happens so it could just b

JohnHell ... I might give Opera a shot down the road ... had it on a computer many years ago but I haven't kept up the versions ... have to see what options I might still have with Opera and also FF ... with Win98SE and Windows 2K. JamesD ... From what I'm reading about Windows 2K, IE6 is the last MS browser that will run on Windows 2K and of course Win98SE. I don't think IE7 wi

James ... I think I'm OK on that. I have 512 ram and use RAMpage to watch my usage. A great little program that works on Win98SE and also Windows 2K, possibly XP. I will post a link here for anyone that never heard of it and would like to try it ... it uses very little resources to run ... Once you get it set up (1 min) it just sits there giving you information. You can see it change as y

Thank for the reply ... I guess I should have also mentioned that I do have KM v1.6 B2 on my computer with KernelEx. I don't use it much, somethings just didn't seem to work right (problems that others also had) so I thought I'd wait till a newer version or a "final" version comes out ... I probably should use it more, the problems are not major, if I remember. I will che

OK ... if you decided that KM wasn't the browser that you wanted to use anymore or just to have a second browser also on your computer ... what browser would that be? I just wondered what the "2nd" choice of a browser would be ... Firefox, Opera, SeaMonkey ... I am using Windows 98SE at the moment and plan to continue with it for some time ... but just over a week ago I put Windows

OK, this happens every so often but sometimes more than once in a day. I have several windows (tabs) open ... maybe 4 or 5 and KM will just freeze up and I have to do the "Control/Alt - Delete" thing to close KM. I think I read somewhere about someone else asking about this but I can't find the topic. Is this happening because I have too many tabs open at one time? I don't thi

Thanks caktus for the info. I removed AdBlock Plus on KM 1.5.4 earlier today and it seems to have the speed back. I am also going to remove it from KM 1.6 B2 ... I like to switch between both KM browsers every so often. Yes, KM 1.6 will be better down the road with the final version. I hope 1.6 will have a "final" version ... I know there is talk of just going to v1.7. I don't know

Never used AdBlock before till last week ... I put the version on for KM 1.5.4 and the new version on for KM 1.6 Beta 2. I have noticed that when I open the KM browser now ... KM seems to take longer to open. This is not a complaint, just an observation. Am I right on this ... is there a connection and have others noticed this also? ... thanks

Well, I had 50-50 success ... I was able to log in but not post any messages. I guess I will have to be content to just be a visitor at the site. One day I may have XP on one of my computers and things may be different. Just really posted this for others to check out their computers and see "where they stand" on various settings and warnings. As I said before, this is the only site I ha
