Thanks JamesD and guenter for the replies. The Wikipedia article explained a lot ... I thought the spelling of referer was wrong and they explain about that and how it just stuck for that ... "The misspelling of referrer originated in the original proposal by computer scientist Phillip Hallam-Baker to incorporate the field into the HTTP specification.[3] The misspelling was set in stone

I'm using an older version of K-Meleon ... version 1.8.24 by autopan, if I remember his name ID correctly ... he (or she) seems to have moved on. Anyway, today I noticed the HTTP Referer tab under Tools/Privacy. Never really paid much attention to it ... it has three tabs named as such: Send / Send only on same domain / Block There is a check mark beside the Send item. Since I have been u

I also noticed that after I posted earlier about using K-Meleon v1.8.24 by adodupan ... that all or most of his posts are gone or deleted. I was looking for information on KM v1.8.24 from 2014 in case someone was interested in working with that version. I guess rodocop will have to supply a download. It seems light and fast but some web pages will act up but not many ... for what I visit.

I am using K-Meleon v1.8.24 by adodupan from 2014 time frame ... with Windows XP SP3. I also use a Firefox 46 with Windows 7 user agent ... I have no trouble with banking and such for now ... never know about the future. I was using the older version 1.6 by JamesD but switched to version 1.8 in 2014. The adodupan version still works good in 2016 but I also have Pale Moon Portable v26.2.2

I'm throwing this idea out for experimentation ... I've used this program for many years ... when I still used Win98SE and now XP. I think it may also work with Win 7 but not 100% sure. Once you get to know this program you may like it ... it's always working when I'm online and sometimes I have to put it on by-pass. You will learn as you use it. It may be of some help when online. Yes, I didn't know exactly where to post about it. I thought there could be some people still using Windows 95 and might be interested ... and maybe want to follow the project. I spoke too soon as far as using it with Windows XP ... I encountered a couple of web pages that did not open properly ... most were OK though. I didn't use it long enough to test everything. Just wanted to experiment.

I was over at the MSFN forum today and noticed this post about a new browser for Windows 95 and and NT4. I decided to try it on my XP setup and it works very good. It might be nice to have as a backup browser and it probably works OK on Windows 98. It is listed under ... Windows 9x Member Projects. In the comments ... people seem to like it in the early stage. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic

I'm still using KM v1.8.24 and am not having that problem, if I understand your question correctly. I have a UA for FF 31 Windows 7 and FF 31 Windows XP ... I mostly use the Windows 7 user agent and all the open tabs reflect that. Maybe some settings got changed. Under the topic "Development" there was a discussion thread on the KM 1.8.24 version ... I remember you were posting the

So far this is a very nice version of K-Meleon ... thanks to Dorian and everyone for the hard work. Still working on my K-Meleon 76 settings ... but I have this question. In an older version of K-Meleon when you clicked on Tools - Privacy - Clear Data - Clear Automatically - a small box would appear labeled "Privacy Plugin Settings" with Cookies - Disc Cache - History - Address Bar

Thank you rodocop and disrupted for your help. Disrupted ... in 2010 I got help from you with using Resource Hacker to change the lock icons in KM 1.6 with the lock icons from KM 1.5. I was going to mention your name and all this in my first post but I had not seen any posts from you for awhile ... I thought you had moved on ... glad to see you're still here. You also made the nice lighthou

This is not a problem with the new K_Meleon 76 beta 2 version ... this is just a preference that I like. I want to change the three lock icons. I have a set of solid black open and closed locks and a bright red lock with a line through it for unsecure. I have changed the lock icons before in older versions of KM ... including KM v1.8 with Resource Hacker. I have changed the lock icons in K-M

I just went to the Adobe flash page to check for any new versions ... this warning popped up. Anybody understand this or what it means ? I've used this page for several years. https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html Adobe Flash Player Distribution WARNING This page and the download links will be decommissioned on January 22nd, 2016. I had the older JamesD K-Meleon v1.6 on my computer but did not try the newer dll from KM 75.1 with it. The newer dll from KM 75.1 does work OK in KM 1.8.24. I used it all day and there were no problems with any web site. I have the newer version installed (KM 75.1) and it runs good so far ... still have settings to fix. It's say in the article link that Win XP SP3 should be OK with SHA-2 ..

Holy cow ... now I got something else to worry about !!! So I have just over two months to run out and buy a brand new computer ... or I can just sit tight and see what happens. Should I be stocking up on food also ? ... anyway, thank JamesD for the heads up, it was news to me ... I'm sticking with my XP computers and hope I can still get on the internet in January. callahan

Thanks for the certificates information. I will be using a newer version of K-Meleon, been a little lazy on that ... I actually may download a version later today. I like the KM 1.8.24 for now since I have all my settings in place. I will try the FF download idea that you mentioned ... I would still like to have v1.8.24 as a backup browser. Again thanks and also for the Flash updates. Add

I don't understand some things about a root or certificates list in a browser. I am using an older version of K-Meleon ... KM v1.8.24 (adodupan). I was wondering if I should be updating the certificates list? I came across this information today with a list with today's date. Yes, I keep the Adobe flash uninstaller and the Shockwave uninstaller on file. I should have mentioned that ... I did not know there were "other" uninstallers out there. I use the Flash IE ESR version for IE 8 and your version for KM and Pale Moon. I don't use the Adobe flash uninstaller very often ... I thought I should this time, get everything off and start fresh. Thanks for pos

Thanks again JohnHell and everyone ... I used a "flash uninstaller" first to get the old flash version off my computer and then I installed this new v18 ESR flash. I wasn't sure if that was necessary but it couldn't hurt I guess ... since the change went from v13 to v18. ...

Thanks 4td8s and JohnHell for the new flash news and download ... I am not 100% sure the new version is working in XP. Everything seems OK so far ... it is reconized at two flash test sites I use. This one will test and ID which version of flash and shockwave are installed ... JavaScript must be on or working. http://www.explorelearning.com/index.cfm?method=cCorp.dspTest ...

4td8s ... thanks for the info ... I have 32 MB RAM listed. I hope to stay with my Pentium Ms ... these were some of the last ones actually made by IBM before selling out, I do believe ... I have updated them and bought a few newer parts from eBay to fix some cosmetic outer parts ... they are good for me and maybe a collectors item of sorts. They were once in demand and I can easily take them ap

That seems to be correct ... I picked that up from another post and just included it with the earlier UA information, thought it might be of use to someone wanting to check their UA. I like this site for checking a UA ... lots of information provided. https://udger.com/resources/online-parser or this one ... http://sqa.fyicenter.com/Online_Test_Tools/Show_Web_Browser_Information.php

That's good to know ... must definitely be FF related with various versions with YouTube. YouTube is the only web site where I started seeing the message. I don't have Sea Monkey on my computer at this time to try it.

Thanks guenter ... there are probably other fixes like you have posted. I hadn't been to the Proxomitron forum for awhile and saw that possible fix mentioned. Using the FF 25 user agent wasn't working for me anymore but so far this newer UA is working. If you had already posted about this then I missed it. I have to go back to the Proxomitron forum and try to change or update the code in Proxom
