Hi smallhagrid ... I do now remember when we exchanged a few e-mails some time back that you mentioned working with computers and setups. Have you went into the Windows folder to copy the file from there for a better 'source'sound. Since I'm logged in ... a quick post from the Proxomitron Forum ... Amy released a new update on April 22. Apr. 22, 2019 Post: #168 amy RE: Proxomitron Reborn Happy Easter! Thanks smallhagrid, I always liked that XP sound. It's too bad it only plays once and never again. If someone had bought a used computer with no speakers and installed WinXP ... they would never hear that music, even if they added speakers later on. They would have no idea that music was on their computer. Probably many people that have moved on from WinXP really never heard that

I always liked the beautiful music that plays when you start Windows XP for the very first time. It only plays that one time. I tried to find it on the computer, eventually did a search where to find it and made copies. I don't think MS ever did that for another new OS ... but I can't be 100% sure. You have to play that XP start-up sound through headphones. Always wondered what the r

OK, thanks for the Psiphon information. I think I have it set up correctly but not 100% sure. I am interested in having more security at 'public' WiFi spots. I see that Opera has a built in free VPN but that was added after they dropped Windows XP support, from what I can figure out. I found a few other browsers that have a VPN added but they seem to be for Windows 10, nothing for Wi

Exactly how are these 'Free OpenVPN Bundles' used with K-Meleon? ... or New Moon and other browsers? Is there a VPN extension that must be added to K-Meleon to use these bundles? I have downloaded a few in the list and I have no idea what to do next or how to use these downloads. I also downloaded Psiphon and have it on my Windows XP computer but again I have no idea how to use it

A new version update was released yesterday (Dec 28). It looks like these 'little updates' could occur frequently over the next few months ... as problems are being discovered and fixed. I don't know how many people are following this or have an interest in Proxomitron. I think the people that do use Proxomitron can just bookmark the site and check for updates every week or two.

No I don't know much about Privoxy proxy ... I've seen it mentioned but you are probably correct about them being similar. Those guys over there would of course know ... JJoe and the bunch are super helpful. I've been with Proxomitron since before Scott Lemmon passed away in 2004. It nice to see it sort of 'reborn' after all this time. ...

There have been several bugs and other problems showing up in the new version. Amy has said she may have a newer version out shortly ... with these items being fixed. Probably would be v4.6.0.1 so check there every so often. A lot of the discussion going on is a bit over my head but I like Proxomitron for what I understand about it. Someday when the final good working version appears, it wi

I posted here about Proxomitron being revived, updated last December. The member over there working on this project has released a major new update a few days ago. Amy has named the project 'Proxomitron Reborn' and has: Certificates generated with correct names and HTTPS working. I am not going to say much about this new release as I am still trying to figure my settings out. I am un

Siria ... thanks for posting, somehow I missed this Google story. I have read about Google over the years ... nothing is ever really 'deleted' with them. I believe they have built more buildings with servers to store everything for centuries. I don't know how much of that is fact or fiction. Yes 'free' comes with a price. I left g-mail after many years in April of t

KM2005 ... thanks a lot for posting about JS Switch and Pale Moon. That's exactly what I was looking for ... a simple 'on - off' switch. It's called 'Toggle JavaScript' but seems to be the same as JS Switch. It's what I found with a Google search. I will post a link in case anyone else wants to check it out. https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/togglejscri

I was not aware of all the terms ... Web extensions and legacy extensions and other Firefox information ... until you posted about them earlier. Going back to the legacy uBlock Origin link provided by Yogi on 01 August and mentioned at the MSFN forum. Posted by: Yogi Date: August 01, 2018 Web extensions work only with Firefox Quantum. This is the legacy extension of uBlock which works with Firefox 52 and probably with its forks depending on how old the code of those forks is. https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases/tag/firef

Thanks for the additional information and that little program or set of tools. It is very powerful and I have been playing around with various settings. I installed Macro priv3buttons on both KM 1.8 and KM 77 (roytam1 version). That will come in very handy with zippyshare. Already tried it there ... a few ads but no problem getting the download. Can't go crazy with all the green check

I put KM 1.8 back on my computer and the zippyshare 'orange tab' kink on the right did work and the download was up in a second. There were a few ads around and a couple large empty squares with no ads with the word 'advertisement' in small print above all three large boxes ... as I remember. So this may work for me in the future for any zippyware downloads. I am thi

Yogi ... thanks for explaining why the New Moon 28 browser would not download that Web extension and that it will work only with Firefox Quantum. I have no knowledge about any of that. siria ... that is another idea. I quit using KM 1.8 and KM 1.6 when roytam1 was working with a newer K-Meleon. I will put KM 1.8 and 1.6 back on my computer and see if I can easily work with zippyshare as you we

At the MSFN forum there is a member heinoganda whose has nice little programs and he uses zippyshare for the free downloads. I have downloaded his programs before at zippyshare and didn't have too much of a problem. This time I had all trouble and never got the download. One of the supervisors sent me a direct link and that worked fine. This was from Dave-H from Norway (?), I think:

I have decided I probably need to start using an ad blocker of some sort. Some of these web pages are too much with moving parts and little windows opening up. I am using the K-Meleon browser for XP by roytam1, maybe known as K-Meleon 77. What would be the steps to install a simple ad blocker into K-Meleon ... what setting to change and what ad blocker download to use. I don't think

I just noticed today that I did not post a reply to your reply and question from January 05, 2018. I usually don't do that or try not to. I must have missed your reply in some way. Thinking back, I think I must have decided to not use Adblock Plus at that time. I don't have it currently set up and working. I may give the whole thing a new try again in the near future and be back
