Well I pick up a little information here and there ... guenter said a few posts back that Dorian lives in France. For some reason I was thinking he lived in Spain. Always interesting to know where people call home. ...

In addition to these non POS updates there are also some updates listed for the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack for Office 2000. All these updates for June 2017 are listed on Page 99 ... 2nd post down. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171814-posready-2009-updates-ported-to-windows-xp-sp3-enu/?page=99 Direct links for this month updates (POSReady, IE8, Silverlight, .NET Framework 4, Office 2

Over at the MSFN forum it was posted a few hours ago that Adobe cancelled that version and released a new version. Bersaglio Posted 7 hours ago Adobe Flash Player 26.0.0.126 was withdrawn. New release today (26.0.0.131) ... guess there was a problem, it (26.0.0.126) didn't seem to install correctly on my computer last night so today a new version. Newest Adobe Flash and Shockwave, a

This has nothing to do with K-Meleon I guess but just a heads up that this past update Tuesday there were several XP security updates released for the non POS XP setup. MS decided to help out non POS XP users ... very interesting. A member at the MSFN forum has provided links to all the updates released. There are 9 updates ... 10 counting the one relased in May 2017. Check carefully at each

Thanks for providing the 'direct link' to the new thread at MSFN. I sort of did that on purpose, I thought people wouldn't have any problems finding the new topic but they might also see another thread that might be of interest to them. I know there are several people (perhaps many) over at the MSFN that use the K-Meleon browser. I pick that up when reading different posts and they mention the

There seems to be a completely new thread started by Dibya about three hours ago over at the MFSN WinXP thread. It's simply called: Extended Kernel for XP (ExtendedXP) http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/34-windows-xp/ Only a few posts for now ... the one project involved really has my interest, if I understand it correctly and that is having USB 3.0 work with WinXP. Just a 'heads up' for

If any of you are following the Dibya project over at MSFN. There are some 'fireworks' going on over there. The project is new and may never really work out but it certainly may be a game changer. Dibya has ruffled 'some feathers' at times since he joined MSFN. The moderators tend to keep things in control but the dust hasn't settled yet on this new project. Browsers requiring Dibya's Exte

guenter, I have not kept up with the POS updates for WinXP. There is a thread there for that ... currently at 95 pages: POSReady 2009 updates ported to Windows XP SP3 ENU http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/34-windows-xp/ I read the posts, I think there may be work on a 'update rollup' package by heinoganda. I have seen it mentioned but not much else at this time. I did decide to a

Just a heads up over at the MSFN Win XP forum. Today one of the supervisors, dencorso started a new separate thread for Dibya's ExtendedXP program. He moved the other posts from the last week into this new thread. This project may pan out or not. Yes, I was going to mention that tool to update certificates. I use it and it's very good. I will go into some detail here about it. It was developed by heinoganda, who is a sharp, knowledgeable contributor there for WinXP. He's got many things going on with WinXP as well as Dibya and others. Anyone interested in WinXP for the future should stay in touch with that forum ... for XP, Windows 2000

Just posted over the last day at the MSFN forum dealing with K-MELEON 76 PRO RC. Some have it working with Win2000. I don't know if this real news or not since I don't use Win2000. There is a member there named Dibya who has a project in progress called 'ExtendedXP' or another member called it 'Dibya's ExtendedXP'. I am not familiar with the project and it still seems to need more work. It

Rodocop ... thanks for this newer K-Meleon 76 Pro version. I just downloaded an earlier version and it was running very good. Found out about this version a few hours ago. My Profile folder seems to have carried over from the other version with no problems. I don't notice any difference but if you say it's better than the other version, then that's good enough for me. JamesD, No I did not use any profile from the KM 75 setup. I started from scratch with KM 76 and just this morning I deleted the whole KM 75 backup folder that I had stored on a flash drive. K-Meleon 76 seems to be working OK except for that Cookie Culler program. I can just go into Tools/Privacy/Clear Data ... so I won't need the Cookie program and I also have everything set to clean wh

Hello ... I just finished setting up K-Meleon 76 ... works very well. I just noticed that Cookie Culler Plus is listed as working with version 76 or 7x. I use Cookie Culler Plus on my other KM versions ... really like the program. However, I installed it into the KM folder and it doesn't seem to work ... the little square page that opens is a total blank. The description for KM Versions that

JohnHell, Downloaded K-Meleon 76 Pro earlier today and just finished the settings. It does seem to get better results at that SSL/TLS test page. I have been using KM v1.8.24 and KM 75 Pro. I didn't realize KM 76 Pro was useable so I never tried it till today. It seems to work just fine so far ... still have a few settings to work with. Probably later in the week. callahan

Just to mention a few things about WinXP and K-Meleon. I was late to the party when I decided to move from Win98SE to WinXP ... that was around April 2012. It took about a year to get all my settings and software exactly as I wanted for WinXP. There were a few changes through the years but not many ... mostly just software updates and regular maintenance updates. I run no virus protection ... j

Thanks rodocop ... I thought I had read a year or two back that there might be some problems with certain websites if the referer boxes are not checked. I will "experiment" with the checkmarks and no checkmarks ... yes, it is all Paranoia on my part. ... I don't know how to add smileys to my post or I would add a "laughing smiley" to the Paranoia part. Seem to like the K

Have a question about what the ideal settings should be under the tab "Paranoia" ... (Privacy and Security Settings). What boxes should really be checked under "Referer Header" for Security? Should there be checkmarks in these two boxes ... or no checkmarks for security? Send HTTP referers Send HTTPS referers to other HTTPS sites Also under "Link Prefetching&

Yogi ... OK, I forgot what you had posted earlier further up the page. Looking at all the links ... not sure exactly what link I might need. For K-Meleon ... I guess this link: NPAPI NPSWF32 23.0.0.162 | for Firefox 7z ... and for IE 8 maybe this link ... • Архив 23.0.0.162 Setup • Архив Setup install_flash_player_ax.exe - ActiveX (Internet Explorer) callahan

Well I guess we all knew this was coming ... so my question is ... where's a good place to get the new flash versions in the future? The flash player download listed now is 192 MB but then it changes to 20.33 MB. I always downloaded and saved the flash download before ... both for IE and K-Meleon. I like to install it myself for IE 8 and I have two older computers that I can update quickly with

Thanks JamesD and guenter for the replies. The Wikipedia article explained a lot ... I thought the spelling of referer was wrong and they explain about that and how it just stuck for that ... "The misspelling of referrer originated in the original proposal by computer scientist Phillip Hallam-Baker to incorporate the field into the HTTP specification.[3] The misspelling was set in stone

I'm using an older version of K-Meleon ... version 1.8.24 by autopan, if I remember his name ID correctly ... he (or she) seems to have moved on. Anyway, today I noticed the HTTP Referer tab under Tools/Privacy. Never really paid much attention to it ... it has three tabs named as such: Send / Send only on same domain / Block There is a check mark beside the Send item. Since I have been u

I also noticed that after I posted earlier about using K-Meleon v1.8.24 by adodupan ... that all or most of his posts are gone or deleted. I was looking for information on KM v1.8.24 from 2014 in case someone was interested in working with that version. I guess rodocop will have to supply a download. It seems light and fast but some web pages will act up but not many ... for what I visit.

I am using K-Meleon v1.8.24 by adodupan from 2014 time frame ... with Windows XP SP3. I also use a Firefox 46 with Windows 7 user agent ... I have no trouble with banking and such for now ... never know about the future. I was using the older version 1.6 by JamesD but switched to version 1.8 in 2014. The adodupan version still works good in 2016 but I also have Pale Moon Portable v26.2.2

I'm throwing this idea out for experimentation ... I've used this program for many years ... when I still used Win98SE and now XP. I think it may also work with Win 7 but not 100% sure. Once you get to know this program you may like it ... it's always working when I'm online and sometimes I have to put it on by-pass. You will learn as you use it. It may be of some help when online. Yes, I didn't know exactly where to post about it. I thought there could be some people still using Windows 95 and might be interested ... and maybe want to follow the project. I spoke too soon as far as using it with Windows XP ... I encountered a couple of web pages that did not open properly ... most were OK though. I didn't use it long enough to test everything. Just wanted to experiment.

I was over at the MSFN forum today and noticed this post about a new browser for Windows 95 and and NT4. I decided to try it on my XP setup and it works very good. It might be nice to have as a backup browser and it probably works OK on Windows 98. It is listed under ... Windows 9x Member Projects. In the comments ... people seem to like it in the early stage. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic
