Hi!
Has anyone a history.txt that's bigger than 316 KB? I can repro a crash here if the file is bigger than that and [Ctrl]&[H] to view the history is pressed.
AppName: k-meleon.exe, AppVer: 0.8.2, ModName: history.dll, ModVer: 0.0.0.0, Offset: 00003a3a.
If I remove some lines (doesn't matter which ones), so the file is 316 KB (324.142 bytes) it doesn't crash, if I add them again (e.g. 316 KB (324.276 bytes)) KM crashes.
Can anyone repro this?

While I have not experienced this bug (I keep my history file much smaller) . . . check similar the bug ( 568) as described in the bug tracking system with the link below. Perhaps, you could add some comments to the item.

The history crashes KM but I'm not sure if is about the size yet.
I tried the solution you give SlideRule and... works, but my history seems to be corrupt and the URLs that appear there, are a joke. No order, no way.
I noticed that when I edit with notepad my cpu go up to 100% for a long loooong time (200mhz). This has been tested as a corrupted file, haven't done with the history ok.
Maybe is the dll maybe not, the next time I will report more things if a it matters, but 2 times in 3-4 days of use.
It mattered again and with different size than the last time. The first time was over 120Kb, now 77kb.
I post now what Dr.Watson, said to me under Win2k. If you want I can uploadthe full data in bytes and words for the developers.

Btw, how can I safely edit history.txt? I tried this (to see if I could get a bit closer to what is causing this bug expression), but when I re-saved the history file, k-meleon thought there was only 1 site visited (the first one actually listed in the history.txt) but it's URL contained more than a handful of separate history entries, i.e.:

Use a *good* text editor that preserves the line breaks (cr, lf, ...).
btw: I simply don't open the history window any more...
My history is around 159K, and I have started having crashes if I try to open something from history first thing after starting K-M. Not always, and it just started yesterday.
You can talk about issues with k-meleon here. Issues means: bugs, malfunction, crashes, etc. Remember that issues with web rendering is beyond the scope of what K-meleon is, a shell for an engine.
