So, I adapted a Firefox skin...

I was playing around with this, trying to get an idea of how skinning works, so I adapted my favorite Firefox skin for personal use:

(sorry for the cruddy hosting -- I couldn't find a better site)

This is based on "Orange," by Maple.nu. The skin is very light and simple, and many options aren't available. The only icons featured are back, forward, home, refresh, print, go, stop, open tab, close tab and icons for the bookmarks / favorites. If setup properly, it looks something like this:

I may get into designing my own skins pretty soon. It's not nearly as tedious as I had initially thought, so it's worth giving a try.

It's always a good new to have a new skin developer onboard, I wish you have good luck designing your skins.

By the way, it's strange that a K-Meleon named browser has not a green reptilian skin yet.(just an idea) ;-)

From what I've learned, the original author is either extremely busy or on some kind of hiatus. (or perhaps deceased!) Either way, I guess it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and upload this. I doubt anyone will complain as long as I make sure to credit him / her.

Here is the latest version of the theme: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RQDZ74PR

Changes from the original one I uploaded are that Bookmarks are now visible, there's a throbber and the bookmark icons are slightly fixed. (they were a bit grainy before) As far as I know, there are absolutely no problems with this theme, so far as it is configured properly.

If someone wants to add this to the themes section, then please do so. I do not know how to edit K-Meleon's Wiki. For title, please use:

Orange 0.2.5 (Unofficial K-Meleon Adaptation)

Just letting you know that I updated it once again: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1UW088WN

I added a search engine button. (to pick between engines) I also seperated some of the buttons so they can be individually added and removed. Also cleaned up the syntax of the configuration file. This is probably the final version, as everything seems in order.

Brian, I sent you an e-mail with my permission.

By the way, Brian, please us this image for the preview: http://img450.imageshack.us/img450/1491/image1ai0.gif

Also, take note that I edited my previous post with a new download link since you uploaded the skin to your site. You may want to update it. Thanks.
