K-Meleon starts quickly and runs with less resources. It can be fixed just as the user wishes. That is you can fix it a little or just go wild tweaking it to your heart's content. One more big plus is the response you can get right here on this forum. The only time my IE runs is for Microsoft updates.

Firefox is not trash; it's a very good application which has a different focus than K-Meleon.
Charlie, you shouldn't use K-Meleon because people here say you should; after all, we're pretty biased, don't you think?
Anyway, there are a few reasons I can think of why people would use K-Meleon (UI responsiveness | ease of customisation | Favorites support) but I'm too tired to explain/argue these points.

I agree with Arrow but also with desga2 and the others :-)
I use k-m as default because it is very resource conserving, starts fast, serfes fast can be customized easily, supports favorites, bookmarks, Opera hotlist and is standart compliant.
I also use other browsers for specific tasks. I use FFox if I need an extensions, IE if i need a Windows update...
I came here because k-meleon 0.7 ... struck the best bargain / middle way between
using CPU time and RAM - I like to visit pages with java animations and create web pages and there is IMHO no better browser for that. k-m simply restarts in a second or so - and rarely has problems from lack or resources.
K-Meleon is the best for my personal needs but it might be differnt for You.

Fast loading, responsive in use, relatively light on resources, stable, great range of useful features "straight out of the box", customizable, and of course easily made portable.

I have K-meleon, Firefox and Opera loaded on my computer (the last 2 for several years). Like many others, I find K-Meleon tends to be my primary browser becasue of it's speed. I wish there were a few more themes but the speed and error free browsing easily makes up for that.

Of all the browsers I use, K-Meleon is the fastest although IE 7 RC1 is as fast as Firefox on my computer.

K-meleon is by far the best, secure web browser i have used in years, I used IE, and firefox, IE i used for years, intill K-meleon 0.7 came along. and i've been using k-meleon ever since. lol
Reasons:
K-meleon
loads fast, easy to set up, great skins,
works great with plugins,
doesn't slow up or shut down wrongly or screw up the whole computer,
Gives you options to shut off things if you don't trust an site or the javascript.
gives you more security and able to relax while surfing..
privacy bar is an awesome feature to have.
saving files, images, and more are much easier then most.
and K-meleon gives you alot more options then some, and doesn't use alot of RAM, and resources, like FireFox , or Like how IE adds onto your computers CPU Usage.
Hope this helps ^^
Dylan Aka K-meleon User/AnimeArtWorks.com .
PS. and Yes I'm still recommending K-meleon to Many users around the world. Why? cus its the best hands down.

1) I can configure K-Meleon to do the things I want to do (someone else might configure Firefox to do approximately what I want to do, but I would not understand how it was done, or how to adjust what was done).
2) K-Meleon is smaller than the Seamonkey-suite, and all Windows-OS computers (except those that have had Windows heavily edited using things like LiteShell, RetroStep, BEOSWin, EVWM, Geoffrey Elliot's Geoshell, 98lite-XPlite/2000lite-IEradicator, etc) are struggling to fit in their available memory.
3) K-Meleon is being developed by a community (the people on these forums) that does not mind answering questions that an ignorant person like me would have.
4) There are people here who are trying to adapt K-Meleon to Operating Systems that work on a wide variety of existing computers (Win95-98-ME, Linux).
5) There are people here who are trying to adapt K-Meleon to run from Pen-drives and from CD's.
6) I have not yet figured out how to run "links-hacked-030709" or "Twibright Labs Links" (two lightweight text-browsers with enough graphics ability to include pictures on the pages)
7) "OffByOne browser" (although it is very small and fast) cannot do JavaScript.

I have used k-meleon for several years. I am a bit of a browser junky, but k-meleon has a special place in my heart. I was so happy when I found out that version 1 had been released. I first started using k-meleon on an old computer that didn't have much in the way of resources. I have continued to install it on every computer I have. No other browser seems as quick and sure footed as k-meleon. Try it for a while and you will be suprised to see how quickly it becomes your browser of choice.
