Adblock should be replaced with Adblock+. Adblock doesn't work well with flash player 8!
Also non-english characters aren't displayed in tabs or in bookmarks. When I go to some russian site for example in tabs there are just "?" and some other signs.
I haven't tested yet if tooltips leaves permanently on some occasions, as it happened on previous version.

Umm... Why is this version a friggin installer?!? That goes against the very nature of KM. A straight archive format such as zip or rar is good, a self extracting archive is fine, but an installer?!

There's a focus issue with tabs and the URL bar. Middle click a link to open in in the background, now try to scroll using the mousewheel.
You have to click within the current tab twice before it'll focus properly so you can scroll again. (The url bar gets focus as soon as you middle click, then the url bar text gets highlighted the first time you click within the current tab, then the tab will finally get focus again on the second click.)

@branko
I agree with you for this. But adblock plus doesn't work with our trimmed chrome. Adblock works fine though.

There is a newer version of adblock. Is it possible to replace it with the newer one?
I confirm the focus issue.
Is it possible to make unicode version so that it can display properly non-english characters? This way it is very annoying

Did anyone test memory consumption of this build against firefox 1.5?

There 's some conflict of session plugin. When loading a new page, middle click the tab will make the whole KM crash. So better disable it when you don't need it.

Adblock plus will work with this version, I guess you didn't see the updated info in the other thread.
I accidently left out an entry in "installed-chrome.txt", it works after adding it.
This is what's needed:
content,install,url,jar:resource:/chrome/adblock.jar!/content/
locale,install,url,jar:resource:/chrome/adblock.jar!/locale/en-US/
skin,install,url,jar:resource:/chrome/adblock.jar!/skin/ <<<<---------- add this
I have Adblock Plus 0.5.10 working except the checks don't show on the Adblock options menu in the prefs window.

The focus issue can be eliminated (I think ?) by changhing this pref to false:
user_pref("kmeleon.display.NewWindowHasUrlFocus", true);
I had problems with having to double click in the page before I changed the pref.

I agree with the fact that more advanced users may prefer not to have an installer, but I'm sure that new users, even if they are experienced, will prefer to have an installer. Not to have one will make it look like an amateur/experimental program made by newbees. An installer looks more professional and is less tendent to confussion (I wish I knew how to make an installer to my spanish version :-)

I also had to add "user_pref("kmeleon.display.NewWindowHasUrlFocus", false);" to my user.js because it kept resetting to true when I closed and restarted K-M.

@aimfiend,
That's some bug in session plugin, disable it.
@CaptnBlack
Yes, you are right. I make adblock+ work finally. It's a pity it can't show the check options but adblock can. And I have to modify adblock+ to make about:adblock refers to its homepage rather than the chrome, or it will hang up the whole KM.

@Enaitz Jar
The self-extracting archives look and act much the same as an installer when you launch them, more than enough so to satisfy noobs. On the other hand, self-extracting archives can be opened in an appropriate archiving prog just as though they were normal archives. Thus self-extracting archives cover both camps.

I must strongly agree with Drahken's comments about the merits of distributing K-Meleon via zip, rar or self-extracting archives rather than 'black box' installers. Though, some self-extracting archives are in a proprietary format and cannot be opened by a different archive program from the creating one. So, I would go a bit further and ask distributors to ensure that the self-extracting archives can be unzipped easily.

@CaptnBlack,
I still got problem making adblock+ work. although I can add/edit filters in adblock preference, I can't make filtering work. Don't know why. And I met the same problem to make the latest adblock work also.

@Douglas
The 7zip self extractors are good. They can be extracted with 7zip (obviously), but also by winrar, powerarchiver, and others. (Winzip probably can't open them, it's the most low-end piece of crap ever.)

Don't get me wrong, I know the self-extracting archives are good (I currently use them). I'm only saying that the installers looks better and more professional, and you can automatically run the Set Default from them.

I think that considering this was a Release Candidate, that an installer is not such a bad idea.
I came to this thread to report the problem with the focus when opening up a new tab too, but i've change the preference in user.js now and it all works fine.
Thanks, CaptnBlack

I have a problem with a site I regularly visit resizing the browser.
In Fred's releases there is an option to Block or Allow resizing.
Is there ant way to block resizing in CCF/SM versions that don't
have this menu option?
