Hi, everybody!
I need your help. Maybe somebody knows, where may I find a latest K-ninja version?
Thanks.

Many thanks, ndebord, for link.
It seems to me K-ninja was abandoned by its authors.

old_navy,
You might want to ask here again. I'm not up on K-Ninja, or its possible successors, but there are others here who are more adventurous than I in terms of using trunk builds of K-Meleon. I just stick 0.9,, GRe 1.7.12 and only occasionally play with the experimental builds.

As K-Ninja is based on K-Meleon, you can probably update it with Brian Brun's GRE update package the same way you do K-Meleon. Just point the installer towards the K-Ninja directory instead.

I found this at the link ndebord posted above but I did not download the file. Click on 'free' download at the lower right corner and follow the directions. Hope it helps!

I've just done a little tinkering with K-Ninja and have now brought it up to date. I've decided to call this one K-Ninja "Samurai" in order to differentiate it from the previous "Beta" versions.
Here are the changes I've made to it:
-K-Ninja "Samurai"
*Upgraded EXE to K-Meleon 0.9 final
*Upgraded GRE to 1.7.13 (Brian Brun's update package)
*Incorporated new K-Ninja icon by mrP1nK
*Smaller download size (5.7megs)
Here is the download link:

This is just an unofficial maintenance release as I have nothing to do with MOT Studios or efosb (the original K-Ninja author).
Have fun.

Just did some further tinkering still...
OK this is looking a little better. I've just uploaded a *newer* version of K-Ninja "Samurai" to RapidShare. Same as before with some new changes.

Oh and now the installer included in the zip file will now create shortcuts for K-Ninja Samurai on your Desktop and Start Menu.
Sheesh I wonder if there's anything else I've forgotten.... :-/

I've never used K-Meleon Ninja, but, as it seems to be an abandoned project, did they have any improvement that we can "steal" or "recyclate"?

@Al.
Thank you for doing this with K-Ninja.
I've been using it and it is working
beautifully. I have a request...but only
if it requires little or no effort on your
part...Is it possible to integrate the
"quick bookmark" function which is
found in some versions, into K-Ninja?
It's a handy tool, in lieu of a sidebar,
to bring up bookmarks as a page.
In any case...Thanks.
Peace,
Stuart

Add the bold text, but check carefully to make sure that the macro does not
already exist (search macros.cfg for "quickbook")
=====================in menus.cfg:
macros(quickbookmark,QuickBookmark)
macros(FileBook, Add/Edit Bookmarks)
=====================in macros.cfg:
#-------------------- Quick Bookmark Macro ---------------------------#
quickbookmark{
$qbookmark=getpref(STRING,"kmeleon.plugins.bookmarks.bookmarkFile");
open($qbookmark);
}

gray49, I may have given you the wrong answer (I never use QuickBookmark).
On the K-Meleon I am writing this on (K-MeleonCCF0.05.2), I have had to modify the macro to make QuickBookmark work;
but K-MeleonCCF0.05.2 is based on Gre1.8.0.1 while Samurai is based on Gre1.7.13, and some of the pathnames may have changed.
Until I get around to downloading and using Samurai, you can try my suggestion above and see if it works (it might), and if it doesn't then try the modification below.
The version below is less generally applicable, because it assumes that the "bookmarks.html" is in the profile-path (which may or may not be true in your installation), but it works in mine.
The lines that I commented out are preceeded by #-vp ("#" to start a comment in a .cfg file and "-vp" to remind me that I made the change)
=====================in menus.cfg:
macros(quickbookmark,QuickBookmark)
macros(FileBook, Add/Edit Bookmarks)
=====================in macros.cfg:
#-------------------- Quick Bookmark Macro ---------------------------#
quickbookmark{
#-vp $qbookmark=getpref(STRING,"kmeleon.plugins.bookmarks.bookmarkFile");
#-vp open($qbookmark);
opennew($path."bookmarks.html");
}

@vpowell,
Thank you...I didn't get it
to work with the first attempt.
I will try again with the new
mod.
In the mean time I have rigged
it so that my bookmarks are my
homepage...and I leave them in
a layer so they are available.
You have already done too much...
Peace,
Stuart

You have done a fine thing for K-Ninja Samurai.
Lots of thanks go to you.
Anticipating release of 1.7.14 and beyond.
Since you may do the updating then too.

Yeah I'll keep the maintenace up on it for as long as required. I've already identified a few new things that need fixing on it, plus there's a couple of new ideas I can incorporate into it.
Stay tuned for newer releases... ;-)

Another week almost over, time for a new version of K-Ninja Samurai. This one is mainly just fixing a few outstanding "problems" I noticed.
For those who like such things, here's the release notes:
K-Ninja Samurai Build 20060316:
*New homepage for K-Ninja is now at: http://www.geocities.com/grenleef/index.html
-Homepage updated in prefs.js and in Hellp - K-Ninja Home link.
-Help - K-Ninja link now changed to J.C.A.N.'s Forum for K-Ninja. This is until such time as a new forum for K-Ninja Samurai is established.
+Many new internal cosmetic changes to the main program.
+Switched from Favorites to Bookmarks as the default bookmarking system. This is so users can add in options for Quick Bookmarks and similar.
And the download link is:

Have fun but be responsible... ;-)
