Brian's 1.7.11 update

Brain,
Are you planning a 1.7.11 minimal update? I sure hope so. The most
detailed and simplest instructions for all us amateurs would be really
great. I always put your minimal updates on many discs sending
them to lots of my KM using friends, etc. They are mostly amateurs
as myself. We believe we all got it to work on the 0.9 release version
but not on other 0.9's.
Thank you for time spent making your great updates. Hopefully there's
many more to come.

1.7.11 treats afaik regression in mail. (please correct me if i am wrong.)
if i am right IMHO we may not need to follow up with that update. greetings

I've got an update already at:
However, as guenter said, this is not a critical update, so I have not been actively promoting it.

Brian,
Please tell us all the mandatory + possible browser modifications to
make when installing this one. I'm one of those who noticed that the
1.7.10 minimal update worked just fine on the original Km 0.9. And
one of those who always had problems with it on the other 0.9's.
Regardless of whatever dll's etc., were removed the others kept
crashing. Also as Guenter stated that thread got confusing. At
least for us newbies it did. Thank you for any guidance you can
give.

Bert,
FWIW, I just installed Brian's 1.7.11 update on top of Guenter's 1.7.10 variation on the original KM 0.9 based on the 1.7.5 GRE. So far it works just fine. Need a couple of days though to properly test it.

afaik 1.7.10 update is sufficiant for us - so if it works okay? IMHO leave it as it is.
p.s. 1.7.11 afaik treats regressions in mail // 2 mail bugs in Mozilla suite or so i read
& we have only a browser ; o )

ndebord,
Been wanting to see how this worked for you and others on builds other than
the official 0.9 release version.

those compiled for 1.7.x will update. (k-ninja You name it) with 1.7.x mozilla files
those compiled for 1.8.x will update with 1.8.x mozilla files.
(i know of hardly any excpetion - except for test builds and statics all k-m.exes will).
it has been tested even before the first update was anounced on 01.April.2005.
(a good fools day jest : o ))

the updater,
Haven't experienced any problems with this update. As Guenter noted, it is not designed to work with the Mozilla 1.8.xx versions at all.
For me, the 1.7.11 version works very nicely indeed.

I agree with ndebord - Brians update is dseigned for 1.7.x
but it would be a small matter to extract the
coresponding files to upate a 1.8.x. During the tests at the end of March - it was in fact tested to update 1.8.x based k-m. regards
Brian's 1.7.11 update is not designed for 1.8.x
