It's tested just fine for me in bookmarks and G-Mail, and everything else is looking good. :-)

I wonder if you could explain a bit more about how you based it on Firefox. I see it is the GR 1.7.8, and I' a bit curious about that.

Ha ha, Hao! I was setting all my preferences up, and to my surprise I cam across ALT B for Blockfall! That leaves ALT-X available for the Compact Menu drop-down, so there was one less tweak that I needed to do! :-)

I used the Firefox 1.04 's source as this build's basis. That's why I said 'based on Firefox 1.04'. And I noticed some difference between it and Mozilla 1.7.8. For example, since they use different chromes, the about:plugins not working in this version. I need to check this out so.

Are you sure about:config isn't working? On mine, the about:config page is totally blank, but its headings are there. There is no error message. I have never seen it look like this before.

It looks as though about:config is working, but it has no data. The page itself looks correct. ???

PR 11a downloaded & installed fine, using it right now.
RTF editing is fine.
The only problem I've found is about:config is blank if typed in the URL bar or chosen from options > adv prefs > all config prefs. The filter bar and frame show up but no entries.
About:Cache works, about:plugins doesn't really get started as you mention above Hao.

Speed seems good and best of all my OS isn't going wacky.

AmboyGuy, do you have G-Mail? I have something strange showing up now. Originally G-Mail worked normally, but now it comes in without protest but it leaves me with a completely blank page.

I tried alternating with my K-Meleon {1.7.5} Jan 17 build, and G-Mail showed up properly. I went back to this build, and there's the blank page again.

But it worked the first time, when I was just setting up the browser.

I'm wondering if the blank G-Mail page and the blank about:config page are both showing us the same problem.

I 'm using Gmail also. This build works fine with Gmail here. Try to switch your user agent. Sometime it can do some trick.

I hope this build works fine for everyone here. Since I will travel to China from this Thusday to mid June, I 'm probably not going to update my build until then.

On the other hand, we still have another two great artist, Guenter and Fred. I think they will make more great versions when I am not around.

i have updated chrome to 1.7.8. - i wonder whether this FF based k-m can use the
Mozilla based chrome - if so we solve the about:config problem easily.

will this new k-m do that new back and forth user.js fast like the other FF?

about:config will work if layout_xul_tree.xpt is present.
(remember to kill the two dats in components after copying it in place)
seems like some other xpt are missing too.

about: plugins can come from layout of chrome when this is FF make.
I will try to fix it - that is possibly a chrome job - slightly different layout. we will see.

this one works ok on my pc. tx so much.

@Carson Gmail is operating fine for me, just tried again this morning. Compose comes up in Basic HTML mode ( I believe you can change the user agent string and become a fully recognized browser, haven't played around with that yet I'm going to try Firefox 1.0.4 User Agent ) all Gmail is operating ok.

@guenter I believe the fast back & forward has only landed in the trunk nightlies in the last week or so. That's a 1.8b2 build. Here's a link address to the Firefox 17-5-05 nightly build forum. ( possibly Fred's build has it, you have to set a pref to activate )

@ guenter I did some checking on the fast Back & forward. It's been in the trunk 1.8b2 nightlies since 5-5-05. I cannot find any info that it has landed in the 1.0.4 ( 1.7.8 ) Aviary nightlies (very confusing system)

I have been checking now the effect of the fast back/forward
setting in my new version K-Meleon0.9-1.8b2-Modified.
The progress is really clearly visible. An advantage of the Opera
browser was up to now the immediate response of an already
viewed page to the back button of the following page. This has
now been achieved by the Mozilla browsers as well.
I closed the browser and added the line :
user_pref("browser.sessionhistory.max_viewers", 5);
to user.js. This forces prefs.js to inherit the setting, when the
browser is restarted.

Wow, great browser, yeah, very good... Well, when I enter in webpages, with Flash files, it appears a 'play' icon, it not load automatically. Please, how do I do to make it run automatically.

go to preferences then to config and finally to usercontent.css tab and either place a # before each line there or delete every thing and then save the changes and restart the browser.
