My Customized Unoffical K-Meleon Version.

You can download it here:
here

Change:
+ Add Multi-Proxy support from Menu->Proxys
+ Add jsnj's "Open All links in the page" macros from Menu->Edit
+ Add Plugins and right click menu support for Flashget (Download Manager)
+ Add support for CyberArticle (One great web page collector program)
* Change some network setting to speed up
* Change some default setting and menu item like adding encoding to right click menu.

Note: This version is also a special version for one Chinese forum "CCF", whick I "live" there. So you will see a "Go to CCF" menu from Menu -> Help and One hidden Chinese menu from shotcut key "Alt+C". Generally you can just ignore it.

And I am also keeping updating this unofficial version and hope you will like it.

It's 8.30 on a rainy evening in Vancouver, soggy leaves in the gutters, and the city dark and soaking in the rain. In here I'm cozy and warm, listening to good music, AND - - writing this on Hao Jiang's K-Meleon CCF 0.017
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.4) Gecko/20041010 K-Meleon/0.9b (November 23-04)
. :-)

Excellent work, Jiang! (Please correct me if I'm using the wrong name?) This rendition seems to work perfectly so far. I've just had it up long enough to load my 1100 bookmarks on. I notice that you already have given it a good User.JS and Content.CSS. It's a very nice K-Meleon!

I just called it K-Meleon\Hao Jiang\K-M Hao Jiang Nov 23-04 in my C: Drive files. After I had it running, I saw your own CCF 0.017 name, so I've renamed my desktop icon.

Would it be a good idea, if you do more builds, to tell us their names so we can assign them in our files? I realize CCF refers to the forum, but any name supplied by a builder is a good one to use.

(I looked at the forum. For once a computer-tech forum is not "all Greek to me", as our saying goes. Other people who try your build will see why! ;-)

Well, this is really excellent! I've watched your technical questions here, which are way beyond my knowledge. Now here we have a brand new "freestyle" build! Congratulations for your success, and thanks for letting us share your good work, Hao Jiang!

Carson:
Thanks for your reply. You flattered me a lot. Actually, this version is still based on KM 0.9beta3 and I just added my multi-proxy macros and jsnj's idear together with some small tweaks. It cannot be called as perfect at all. I 'm still waiting for the KM 0.9 out and will try compile its source with Mozilla 1.8 to see how much we can give it a speedup. Just hope this version can bring people more convenience. Thanks again.

This morning Sebastian has one out, too, so I've downloaded both his and this new one of yours based on Ulf's 1.8a4. It will probably be tonight before I can set them up. Yours from yesterday, Hao, is working perfectly. :-)

I'm taking an (addictive!) sneak peak at both these 2 new builds. I have your 1.8a4 up and running, and all looks good. There was some little detail set differently in the bookmarks, so I just had to reset a location in a box.

(Some of these things I do very quickly, and afterwards I'm not quite sure what happened. It wasn't the setting to enable bookmarks. It was a question of finding them in the SLT folder. I just copy & paste my bookmarks folder for each new build. Usually, as in your Nov 23 build, they are waiting for me on the toolbar. On this 1.8a4, the toolbar was there, but empty--I needed to indicate the path. I think it was set as "C:\bookmarks" or something. No problem.)

I now have four green K-Meleons on my desktop. One is Sebastian's, which isn't set up yet. This is like the old days in Firebird, when I would have up to 8, sometimes one or two more, all in a row!

All looks good so far. Thanks again, Hao. :-)

I hope you can take some bashing winking smiley
What the hell is this CCF0.018PR? 21.9MB?
What did you do to original Ulf, which on my box is 10.3MB in size. Crome 8.27MB? My Ulf crome is 485K.
I will not go further.

CCF0.017a
Flashget, not a fan. Too many horror stories about integration with browser and OS. As a stand alone - maybe for some brave souls. I gave up on download managers long time ago. Too many errors splitting and then combining files from different servers. At the end, you will spend half of your life trying to figure out why app doesnt work. Is it bad app or the bad download. If you stick to one server you eliminate one unknown from equation.
CyberArticle, is this a joke? Another "convenient" way to catalog your HD and send it to some server in China?
Multi-Proxy macros, I hope you 're not taking credits from Coolwulf winking smiley

On a positive note, if you compile 0.9 and Ulf's 1.8a4, that would be great. As reported, GDI bug is gone in 0.9, and Ulf's 1.8a4 is very fast indeed. But please, no more bloat.
No hard feelings....

@marcIv (---.essind.com),
You can use any mozzi 1.7.x chrome - the best i personaly have found is by Jan
- so i d o not totally understand what You are complaining about chrome size?
(those used with Ulf different test builds are by Andrew or Jan depending...)

after exchanging chrome to other - You have to delete overlayinfo (folder) and
chrome.rdf (file) in chrome folder, so that k-m makes them new.
Those parts of old chrome You want to continue to use must be mentioned
in the new installed-chrome.txt that comes with new chrome (select in opld & copy paste into new)
(that is all that is to do when exchanging chrome to other chrome).

That about China is a jest (i take it so) - but this aint no commedy forum.
the rest - why not disactivate the components that
You do not like? Like You do with the chrome that You consider too big
- that is k-m forum style and custom ; o ))
(You can exchange macro parts too what You like - people like Hao and Sebastian offer them so rthat others have less work - if You can offer Your own = another customized k-m for download this would be great for all of us // more k-m => more choice!)

with a 1.8.x compilation You/we could use any wechelbalg chromes (You have) -
or ones molded along their example - & You are right i would love that too.

greetings from Hannover

p. s. (You are right small chrome is faster grinz - but please check whether Hao put extra functionality into that bigger chrome ; o )))

My nickname on that CCF forum is coolwulf. And I use this name here.
This version is just my customization. I havn't been able to compile KM up to now. I am trying to do so but still meeting some linking problem. As I said, it is only some macros addition and preference change of Ulf's version. I will look into what's the cause of bigger folder size which I didn't pay attention. Anyway, I hope some people like this version. Thanks.

Here is one small update to my version:
+ New Hotkeys functions from Tools -> Hotkeys. You can choose from Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+9 as hotkeys and store web address in them. So you can speed up opening your favorite web address by hotkeys.

How does one install the RAR type file downloaded from the link?

RARs seem strange at first, but they're easy enough. 7-Zip will do it, and 7-Zip is a nice one to have. There are many others (freeware).

Basically just click on it. It will go to a new window showing a file or two. When it opens into the main file, if you go to copy/paste that where you want it, you'll see it unzip itself to the new location, and you're in business.

Actually this is one operation that seems a bit confusing unless you just simply click on it. It's easy to make RAR files seem more complicated than they are. Good luck.

Carson, just go to the plugin directory and remove these files:
npfgc1.dll
npfgc2.dll
npfgc3.dll
you can keep getflash.* if you want or you can remove them also.

A little update for my customized KM gecko 1.74 based version.

[What's new]
+ Change tab/layer width from View-> Layers -> Set tab width. Now you can set the max and min width of the layers and it will effect immediately.

* Changed pheonity theme which opened some non-default button and move the position of new window button, which is like the one in MyIE2/Maxthon.

+ Add "Shift + Left mouse click" as shotcut key to open links in new background layer

( I don't use the latest Dec. 1 K-Meleon.exe since I don't like the auto focus to address bar function and I feel it makes browsing a little inconvinient. But I do include all Dec.1 updated plugins files.)

Download:

As usual, thank you very much to all people who devote themselves to KM development. Especially, Ulf, Anderew and Jsnj...
