K-Meleon 74.0RC2 can use the exrensions folder in more than one location,

without the nesfox extrsnion macro loading test which has files to update onmi.ja and kmplugins and which also places the extensions folder in the browser folder. The file for the test is below.

http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/file.php?8,file=847,filename=newsfox_test.zip

I copied the extensions fodler to the browser folder from my default profile folder and deleted it from my profile. And the exensions were still loaded when I restated the browser.

The only thing that the newsfox test deos is to allow loading macros from inside xpi extensions.

I also have kmeleon.install_firefox_extension enabled with macro from JamesD
the macro is mentionded at

K-Meleon 74.0RC2 xpi installing in ./browser/extensions

Addons in ./browser/extensions have no remove option in the Addons Manager.

They are installed for all users of the browser not for the profile of a single user.

Implemented restart, improved favorites and bookmarks icon (bug 1056), and fixed encoding for hotlist.

You may need the restart function for some addons.

Same thing than before, but now with js version. It runs the startup function in kmeleon.js. Now you should have 2 menu items, one from kmm and one from js.

http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/file.php?8,file=852,filename=newsfox_test2.zip

This includes Dorian's examples for kmm and js that create menu items.

Example menu item in Tools: NewsFox JS and in subfolder Mail und News the item Read RSS-Feeds.

Another conveniant method to fire up a XUL addon is a bookmark/hotlist link.

Lets also use a NewsFox example: chrome://newsfox/content/newsfox.xul

And this bookmark would fire up the Addon Manager: about:addons

P.s. Rememeber to repack the altered files in ./browser/components/ to the omni.ja in that folder. Add as zip not 7z or other.
