Can speeddial be customized for more thumbnail boxes like opera?
E.g.:
http://operawatch.com/news/2008/06/how-to-add-more-speed-dials-in-opera.html
It enables an option of 12, 16 or 20 thumbnails.

Thanks Disrupted. I see that the link is on a "tests" page. Fair to infer I'm testing this? (Which I don't mind.)

The install of the 20 box speeddial worked like a charm.

Gladly I'll keep it. I had anticipated that there would be thumbnail compensation so as all 20 if not at least 16 can be seen in monitor without scrolling (I'm at 1024 x 768).

Opera does this with a maximum allowable option of 25 boxes:

From C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Opera\OPERA\speeddial.ini:

Total=25
Rows=5
Columns=5

Enclosed is a screen shot of opera in 25 x 25 view.

That's real cool, thanks!
I presume creating a dynamic ability for speeddial to change (like in opera with an .ini file) is not practical?
This post came up on that previous thread [Speeddial Not working?]

Okay that all said, can "our" speeddial be customized for more boxes like opera?:
http://operawatch.com/news/2008/06/how-to-add-more-speed-dials-in-opera.html
12 boxes is great, 16 or 20 would be the bomb!
Yes, it is possible. Unfortunately, this is done only by hand: you have to edit the script code (change the size of previews, the thickness of the borders, the distance between the windows) ...

I believe I could change the script code, I have a little experinence in html. Can you give me a clue as to which file(s) I must edit?

nah, it's not possible to make it dynamic like opera.. the js doesn't support that function so it will need a complete rewrite.. i have no idea who wrote speeddial.

you can tweak it a little , most of the code is in index.js.. the index.html just handles the number of site divs and then everything is controlled with index.js

Forum member siria made an extension with Fast stone Capture for grabbing full screens, active windows, scrolling windows, etc.. Check it out!

Thanks disrupted. I'll look into it and see what I can come up with.
