update 2 has some bugs.

i can't set download dir, have to change it in about:config, also save files to dir can't set. Now it just disappear entirely, even has its thread.

Beta/update 1 runs well.

ru-localized KM75beta (any b3 and also b2; but I don't know about b1) shows 'Image properties' and 'Link properties' (ru: 'Свойства изображения' & 'Свойства ссылки') dialogs called from image and link context-menus that way:





KM74 and KM74-31 handled these dialogs right way though.

These problem i also meet in old Tor browser many times, it use Firefox 34esr.

Thanks for the security icon problem being vanished, that it is fixed.

And (drums....) the toolbar drag that is fixed too when using windows instead tabs.

I don't find further problems right now or any other thing reported in the past.

About the folders settings has been told above. I carry the settings from a decade and I don't have problems, as they work correctly, but it is true that in the preferences window, the default download folder appears as "not set".

You both are right only partly

kmeleon.download.saveDir - defines K-Meleon Save Folder for silent 'Save as' (not for download).

browser.download.dir - defines default download folder for Mozilla engine and CAN be set visually through page about:Ñ€references

And KM download folder which should be configurable through Preferences (F2) is connected with pref kmeleon.download.dir.

This way works in KM75beta2
BUT
kmeleon.download.dir - while had being set - doesn't work:
files are downloaded into folder defined in browser.download.dir, and even the latter is empty - kmeleon.download.dir isn't used and files go to default Downloads folder of current user profile system folder.

Accel solution would be enough, thank you. I'm still not a supporter of replacing light KM functions with one from firefox.

Replace bookmarks.dll in locales/ru with the attached file.
I've added the url field in the "add bookmark" dialog. Tell me if you can see the url or if the field is blank.

I can see the URL in 'Add bookmark' dialog but it still doesn't appear in bookmarks manager. And bookmark doesn't work.

And one more time about spellchecker.

Now it shows this:



And me and other russian users see that heavy CPU load (and thus increased time of KM start with some open pages) after adding spellchecker.

It does work in about:preferences.
I assume that about:preferences is a work in progress since not everything there works yet as expected (e.g. private browsing mode).

I found that the about : preferences needs browser.cache.offline.enable set to true.

If will be the replacement for the current preferences panel is something to know about.

I didn't change that setting. "True" is the default.

I know, it's for paranoids, maybe like me

No, it is just I don't like sites storing things on my PC. Less when my space is quite low.

about:preferences is amazing.:drool:
u2 much slower than u1, and just like firefox34esr, sometimes its UI vanished.

KM75 beta, u1 all be supported by speedyfox, but u2 doesn't, it vanished immediately. But even i build new profile twice, without speedyfox, sometimes u2 still doesn't show its UI.

Just a pref: main.kmm still contains that line
$KM_Version=getpref(STRING,"general.useragent.vendorSub");

But can't find that pref in about:config anymore.

I can't confirm, neither for Km-b3u2 nor for Fx ESR-31.5.0.

The specs of the computer might be decisive for different perceptions.

You won't find that string in about:config neither in Km-74 nor in Fx ESR 31.x.

The reason of slowdown is new spellcheck interacting with some 'textarea-rich' pages.

Facebook for example. If no one such a page in your session - than no slowdown ;-)

I have noticed that with the update 2 installed, that I sometimes get the right click menu for a button when I have pressed the left button on my mouse. It seems to happen if the cursor is near the edge of the button. If the cursor is near the center of the button, the button's left click action takes place as expected.

shows an error, because toolbars.cfg is "not found".

Hm, now have a prob, am almost ready to post a new macro with a button, but into which folder do I place the pics now, if the macro shall work for all KM versions? Don't want to make 2 different macro versions

I have the same extension running in KM-74 and KM-75.
For KM-74 its image is in the "default" folder and in KM-75 its image is in the "shared" folder.

I was going to bed about an hour ago but... here I'm finding an interesting behavior of the latest update of K-meleon (not happening in update 1).

The thing is that K-meleon 75 b3u2 has a very long delay to open if you don't have a working connection to Internet (understand this took me a while).

Suspecting of all my special system configuration (Windows 2000) took me to discover about an hour discarding and finding strange things (as SmartCard module being the hanged one in K-meleon). Tested in all systems.

What happens is that K-meleon need to resolve at startup www.google.com and NEEDS to connect to a site. This is an url from a sniffer:
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=&gws_rd=cr&ei=5sT3VPyGJYHkUMKzgLgD

If K-meleon can't connect to Internet and can't access that URL (or similar) it delays the startup. In my case for about a minute.

I was changing configurations in my home router (after the ISP modem) and therefore I didn't had a connection to the WAN, only to the LAN. This caused all this detective hour.

The following can be tested without any profile, so as a fresh K-meleon 75 beta 3 update 2 start.

The best way to test this behavior is disconnect you modem/router in the WAN side (if your machine is directly connected to it through RJ45 and you can't disconnect the WAN side be sure to leave a dummy device such as a hub or switch so Windows doesn't lose network functionality) and see the results. K-meleon delays the start a lot.

If then (the simpler way again), in the same configuration, you block through hosts file www.google.com, K-meleon starts instantly.

I discovered this for 2 reasons: I have my own DNS server and I used a sniffer. With the first I found the disconcerting google.com DNS request at startup; with the second where the hell needed to go.

Might be this bug related to the about:home fix?

Likely.
KM-b3 connects to sourceforge.net at startup. It shouldn't.
KM shouldn't connect anywhere at its own.

It was probably because of the first run. Me stupid, I've forgotten about it.
After restarting the second time it doesn't connect anymore.

Real glad you guys figure such complicated stuff out! Wouldn't be able to do that myself at all.
And now reminded me: wasn't there something with an automatic 'healthreport' pref at startup...? Dimly remember having read it somewhere, confirming to me of course googles insidious forced spying again, and later reading somewhere that it would connect to a browsers homepage... which would be sf for KM. Now just seeing in about:config there are a whole bunch of suspicious "healthreport" prefs...
