I like said that in skins from 1.5.x (not in the skin included in 1.6 Beta) you need include context menu in Back and Forward toolbar buttons:
|History Back
|History Forward

This context menu weren't included in 1.5.x skins because were showed by default.

Thank you, desga2. We all appreciate your work. I have the 7z version all set up and have begun testing.

I noticed that the setdefault program now has the same icon as k-meleon. Is there any chance the old icon can be maintained as an alternate in the k-meleon.exe file? I had been changing the icon of my shortcut to point to setdefault because I much prefer that icon.

Window titles worked fine in preBeta, now all only show "????", on top, and in the taskbar only show the first character. Only KM pages like "preferences" show titles okay.

Uff, the history on the back/forward buttons works again with the changes in toolbars.cfg!

What I LOVE is having finally a recognizable UNlock icon again, thank you!
The language tab in prefs works fine too, just offers all choices 3x... Not sure if it has any effect, if they are all in smallcaps now, e.g. de-de instead of the usual de-DE.

What is the possibility of changing the location of preference panels? In 1.6.0a4, the panels are aligned with the top of the screen, but in 1.6 beta the panels are set just a bit below. This would not be a problem except the the BACK, NEXT, and CLOSE buttons are hidden.

I had to do some changes in my personal browser
configuration but now everything seems to work ok
for me, as far as I can see.

I think this is an old problem when you use an old kplugin.
Try to use kplugins from preBeta if this work fine for you.

This is so, same in Firefox 3.5.x and Seamonkey 2.0.x, this pref use an ISO standard with all in smallcaps and some of it have three characters, you can look it in GRE file:

Can you post some screen capture?
This not happend to me, Preferences is showed always on center of the screen.
What is your monitor size and what resolution are you using?

Note: I have tried moving the preference panel to the top and closing, but it always comes back to same place. PreBeta had same problem.

YES! Just tested and it's actually the new bookmarks.dll, for some weird reason! The one from preBeta (Feb2010) shows normal window titles, and the one from beta1 (Sep2010) makes titles unreadable...

Okay, so all is fine
I'm feeling a bit crazy now, my machine DID first show all languages 3x, and now suddenly only 1x, no idea why! Bookmarks.dll makes no difference. Should have made a screenshot ;-) Starting to get the impression that sometimes the browser needs a few restarts before all works okay *confused*

PS: Pref tabs have the perfect size in win98 (1024px monitor)

PS-2: Just a suggestion, perhaps that vcredist link could be added to the download page, if anyone has startup probs...

I found out why this happens to me. My old eyes have led me to use a font size of 14.

user_pref("font.minimum-size.x-western", 14);

The pref panels are right when I install, but when I run my setup macro the font size is changed. Nothing you need to do.

Yup, Mozilla has stretched Gecko 1.9.1 quite far already.

That is why I asked for the GRE version of this beta one, or the 1.6 final if exists or if would be 1.7 with the latest GRE the next release.

By far, anyway, till a final, I'm hardly sticky in 1.1.6.x and anxious for the next final version

But I have to say that, maybe 1.9.1 has been stretched, but what is being, not stretched, but shortened, and with mad speed, it's the jump from HTML 4.x to 5.x. All, browsers and some webmasters are causing all this. And all we know what this means, bugs here, bugs there, nothing stable here, and nothing there.

(guenter, you will be pleased with dhost.info, is quite reliable, now they haven't many downs as in the last years)

... and a link to this announcement thread, so that people also find the tab history skin update... and perhaps for less 'advanced' users a short info how to find the 'entry door' to that file... ;-)
(Edit > Configuration > Toolbars, or manually open the skin folders and edit the toolbars.cfg with notepad)
... or a link to KMeleon16 in the wiki, and put the most important infos there...

I wanted to try this once, but I gave up since some words cannot be translated at all. I am only user of Km from Slovenia anyway ...

If this happend to you again, please check in about:config the pref value of:
intl.accept_languages
