What I mean is...
The user clicks the maximize button in the
upper right corner (between minimize and close)
Instead of the browser "completely" filling
the screen... it fills the screen EXCEPT for
the area where the Taskbar is (so the user
still has access to the Start Menu, and Quick
Launch, other opened windows, and the System
Tray).

K-Meleon would be the "only" web browser, that
I know of, that would have this feature if it
was implemented.

I know this can be done because I've written
source code to do it in Basic-like languages
such as RapidQ and Visual Basic. It requires
using two API functions: SHAppBarMessage and
GetSystemMetrics.

Since I'm not knowledgeable with C/C++...
I'm wondering if someone who is... could write
up the code and make it a new "unique" feature.

Footnote: the source code I have is not fool-proof.
It can not detect the location of the users Taskbar
"IF" the user has their Taskbar set to auto-hide
when not in use.
But I'm wondering how many people "actually" set
their Taskbar to do that?

I can maximized K-Meleon and show task bar in Win2K, only you have to setting your task bar without autohide in Windows.

If I click the maximize button on "any" application...
it fills the "entire" screen area (including the Taskbar).

keep the taskbar on top of other applications(check)

I did not have the...
"Keep the Taskbar on top of other windows"
checked because I have a couple of poorly
written applications (that I did NOT write)
that do not remember their last location
when they're closed and they always open in
the upper left corner of the screen (which
is not good for me because I have my Taskbar
at the top of the screen. having it at the top
of the screen seems more natural to me. for
those who are wondering how to put the Taskbar
at the top of the screen... just click on it
and drag it there).

Having that property set... does cause any and
all application to maximize with the Taskbar
still showing. So I set it and I'll just get
rid of those poorly written apps (I'm sure
there's other apps on the net that behave
better and are just as good if not better).

oh ok.. i understand that cause my taskbar is at top aswell but i like windows-including km- to maximise over it. (it's the more natural way)

for quick access to startmenu or taskbar buttons, i just click the startmenu keyboard key.

if this isn't good enough.. then make taskbar on top of other applications and i have a small command line utility that automatically sets position of windows for programs before they run.. it doesn't need to be running at startup or background.. you just create a shortct to the utility with the command parameters to execute the program you want with windows size and position.. i'll find it on my hd(not easy task:2harddisks and 9 partitions) cause i don't remember its name or where i have it and i'll come back to you.

The other possible solution is to open a bug report to Microsoft.

Thanks for reminding me.

I totally forgot...
I already wrote a small utility program that
sets an application's position and size to my
preference (a fraction of second after it's
visible on screen) because I use this one
application on a daily basis.

I'll just write some more of the same utility
program's for those other unruly applications.
