babelfish:
yahoo changed the codes so macro nolonger redirects the text properly and just opens the babelfish page. also now supports many more languages.
babelfish is better than google because it's more intelligent.(translations more human-like)

it probably differs with different languages but spanish>english and german>english; i found babelfish making more sense..i think, since i can't say for sure which is more correct but babelfish generates better sentences which are easier to understand.

where i found google to be superior is with eastasian languages like chinese, korean etc. but i run into more european sites than asian so i prefer babel

I noted the next differences between old and new Babelfish url:
- Olds loaded this in translation K-Meleon website from english to spanish:
http://66.163.168.225/babelfish/translate_url_content?lp=en_es&url=http%3A%2F%2Fkmeleon.sourceforge.net%2F&.intl=us

- But with new url loaded this:
http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?lp=en_es&url=http%3A%2F%2Fkmeleon.sourceforge.net%2F

The main difference between urls is that second url show a Babelfish frame at top of the trnslated website. I think old Babelfish url is better.

- Conclusion: Translate.kmm file not need update because continue working.
Also only one language option more added in babelfish; now you can translated between Chinesse Simplified and Traditional.

For this you only need change this bold line in code:
_Translate_BabelFish_SetDefaults{
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_pair,"zh:en,zt;zt:en,zh;en:zh,zt,nl,fr,de,el,it,ja,ko,pt,ru,es;nl:en,fr;fr:en,de,el,it,pt,nl,es;de:en,fr;el:en,fr;it:en,fr;ja:en;ko:en;pt:en,fr;ru:en;es:en,fr;");
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_srvc,$_Translate_BabelFish);
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_page,"http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=<from>_<to>&url=<url>";);
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_text,"http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr?lp=<from>_<to>&urltext=<txt>";);
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_regn,1011100);
$_Translate_pair=getpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_pair);
$_Translate_BuildMenu_Macro="_Translate_BabelFish_BuildMenu;";
$_Translate_ClearMenu_Macro="_Translate_BabelFish_ClearMenu;";
}

You need refresh Tools -> Translation -> Using -> Babelfish to changed take effect.

the code doesn't need updating when translating a whole website (tools>translation)
but when you highlight certain text inside a page and select to translate that text from context menu, it doesn;t send the text properly to babelfish and just opens the babelfish main page.

also the translation languages menu(from and to) when selecting babelfish contains less languages than what babelfish can now support.

Ok change this (bold) macro function in 'translate.kmm' file to update:
_Translate_BabelFish_SetDefaults{
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_pair,"zh:en,zt;zt:en,zh;en:zh,zt,nl,fr,de,el,it,ja,ko,pt,ru,es;nl:en,fr;fr:en,de,el,it,pt,nl,es;de:en,fr;el:en,fr;it:en,fr;ja:en;ko:en;pt:en,fr;ru:en;es:en,fr;");
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_srvc,$_Translate_BabelFish);
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_page,"http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=<from>_<to>&url=<url>";);
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_text,"http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_txt?lp=<from>_<to>&trtext=<txt>");
setpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_regn,1011100);
$_Translate_pair=getpref(STRING,$_Translate_pref_pair);
$_Translate_BuildMenu_Macro="_Translate_BabelFish_BuildMenu;";
$_Translate_ClearMenu_Macro="_Translate_BabelFish_ClearMenu;";
}

Remember you need refresh Tools -> Translation -> Using -> Babelfish to changed take effect.

This is a Babelfish's fake, the languages to translate are the same as I said "Only translation between Chinesse Simplified and Traditional was added."
