K-Meleon Web Browser Forum
I couldn't find comments about a my sidebar like implementation in k-meleon. I think it is a very cool feature to have in k-meleon.
Personally, my first reaction to this is that it's extraneous. However, if a side pane were implemented (akin to netscape's side bar and explorer's/internet explorer's "explorer bar") to use xml for special features and basically done a a webpage, this wouldn't be a bad idea. It seems that it would be fairly simple to initiate, and progess could go slowly while still providing great functionality.
Most uses, I suppose come down to a browser-created (as opposed to website-created) frame showing a regular webpage (for k-meleon bugtracker, email, ...), but incorporating the power already available in the toolbars and menus and all the other configurable stuff... wow.
In short, it's a great long-term goal; it may not be appropriate now, I don't know (I don't develop it). At any rate, a simple and clean implementation of such a thing would be interesting.
