K-Meleon Web Browser Forum
Hello,
I get a significant number of crashes with KM and ABP 1.0.2 (FR and US versions). I have a KM 1.5.3 FR freshly reinstalled (only previous profiles kept), but ABP make KM crash randomly. Fortunately, I can get a systematic crash : run KM, open a web page with picture(s), right-click on an image and choose "Voir l'image". Then close the two KM windows and the crash occurs...
It occurs when ABP is active or not, when it contains filters or it is empty. The only way to eradicate these crashes is to uninstall ABP (i.e. delete all related files in KM subdirectories). It occurs with ABP downloaded from KM website and ABP website.
It doesn't occur with old ABP 0.7.5.3...

What can I do to get a "modern" ;-) and reliable KM installation ?

Salut, je n'avais pas vu qu'il y avait une nouvelle version. Wladimir va probablement passer par ici et traiter ce problème.
Pour le moment, l'ancienne version fonctionne.
Pour ce qui est du Setup de K-Meleon, je ne vois pas en quoi il n'est pas sûr, une explication complémentaire serait la bienvenue.
Est-ce pour les problèmes qui semblent subsister sous cette daube de Vista ?
Pour ce qui est d'une interface plus moderne, KMES 2.10 offre la possibilité d'utiliser le style moderne et le plus ancien utilisé. Hormis l'esthétique, qui est discutable, la taille est notoirement augmentée, et franchement, çà n'en vaut pas vraiment la chandelle.
C'est peut-être moins sensible sur un setup de 5 Mo, mais sur des petites extensions, parfois, çà double la taille. Bref pas trop interessant.
De toute façon, même si je maintiens le setup de K-Meleon, ce n'est pas moi qui décide des modifications importantes.

Oui. Mon post ici avait plus pour but de signaler un bug/problème.
Néanmoins, ABP évolue et ses techniques de filtrage aussi. C'est du moins ce que me disent les listes auquelles je suis abonné en me signalant que certains filtres ne fonctionneront pas avec ma "vieille" version d'ABP.
Ah, je savais bien que j'aurais dû poster en français, pour éviter les quiproquos :-)
Je parlais de mon installation de KM que ABP rend instable, pas du setup de KM en général.
Et je suis sous XP Pro SP1.

This not happend to me in KM 1.5.3 on Win2K, I don't use ABP.

Actually deturl is used in the new youtube macro from last week...
Maybe that there's a prob with opening links in background, no idea, haven't tried that yet in background, but rather sure ABP is innocent in this case ;-)
Edit: Ohh... remember something, that macro needs javascript - OHH no wait, more memories... this inserts javascript, and it took me ages to figure out why my experiments with a bookmarklet for that service so often ended up with opening that site directly: Finally I read somewhere that javascript-inserting-bookmarklets only work if tabs are set to open in the same tab, not another! Ah yes... would you believe, just a few minutes ago (while searching for that KM-Logo-macro which has vanished on me
) I've stumbled across a thread title that there's a bug with OnLoad events when opening tabs in background, doesn't work... or such...
To put it short, currently such macros work only if opened in foreground.
