i have the full version and installed it. but after start from the desktop icon, nothing happend???
also with right-mouse> open nothing happend.

did i made some wrong installation?
how to solve this?

my system:
win95a
ie inst.
netscape 4.72 inst.
never used mozilla before

If you had read the other messages on this forum you would have known there are more people with exactly the same problem.

I've got the same problem, too, on 2 computers. Both have win95 installed without mozilla or ie 4+. They do have Netscape 4.x.

Can't somebody debug the problem? It seems there are a lot of people that can't enjoy this great browser...

i found the same thing, having installed on win98 with ns4 and ns6 installed. it worked fine following a reboot, running k prior to ns4.

reboot i did , but its still not working.

The startup-problem is (partly) solved at #kmeleon on irc.mozilla.org:

<rOn> kmeleon 0.1 uses the BCG library for the nice toolbar buttons and menus, and this library requires some stuff from ie4/5. we are getting rid of it for v0.2

I have the same problem too. Clicking on the desktop icon doesn't start up the program. My laptop is a Pentium II running on Win95, with IE 5 and Netscape 4.6.

this problem depends on what kind of connection you have
it works perfect with Dail-up
but it doesnt work with LAN

nope.. has nothing to do with type of connection.. doesnt work on either win95 default install or win 98 one on dialup one on lan

I figured out one fix is to find and updated version of he dll "mfc42.dll" min the windows system folder. The only site i have found to get this off of is www.napigator.com.

Getting a newer version of mfc42.dll (version 6.0.300) was the solution for me. Thanks, BooBoo!
