im not sure if anyone is having this issue im missing my favorites and i can't add favorites or import,maybe i'm missing something any advice would be helpful or help thank you to who ever reads this ,exclude the issue im having k-meleon is still a nice webbrowser

Go to Edit -> Preferences (F2) -> K-Meleon Plugins -> Favorites -> and check "Enable Favorites Plugin" option and enable Favorites toolbar.
Restart K-Meleon to changes take effect.
Remember restart K-Meleon Loader if you are using it.

I have done the above and KM still will not save favorites. It will add to favorites but not save the entries. Also when I click on the favorites button the drop down says "add page" "explore" and "options" clicking explore does nothing. In preferences the space that says "folder for new favorites" and the space that says "menu folder" both say "not set". Clicking restore default does nothing. Browsing for a folder does nothing. How can I fix this?

Are you sure you are using IE Favorites or Mozilla Bookmarks?
What Windows version are you using and what K-Meleon version?

You may also check in about:config (or via Edit/Config./Browser Config.)
if this entry exists and has the right folder path:
kmeleon.plugins.favorites.directory

(E.g. my favorites path is customized and the entry says "D:\faves\")
But for me this folder was found automatically, so it's strange it doesnt for you...

No idea if this matters, but there are more hits for favorites there:
kmeleon.plugins.favorites.load (true)
kmeleon.plugins.favorites.menuAutoDetect (true) (no idea what that's exactly for, perhaps finding folder?? ;-)

Oh, forgot one thing: Was it a typo or does your menu really say "explore"?? Because mine offers only "Add Page / EDIT / Options"...

I am using xp and KM version 1.0
Ok I changed the favorites path to one I choose, and the "not set " entries went away.
And yes it does say explore not edit, so I cannot delete a favorite.

First of all, anyone should supported KM 1.0 versions (is old and unsafe).
My recomendation is you update to 1.1.x or 1.5.x trunk versions.

But you problem can be a corrupted profile, you can try with a new profile or reinstall (update is better) KM.

Ok I downloaded KM 1.5 and now the bookmarks button is saving favorites, although the favorites button still does not work, but as long as one of the buttons works it's all good. Thanks to all of you for the help.

What Favorites button not work for you now?
