In a contenteditable div, when an image is clicked on, it is not selected and therefore it is not resizeable.

I went with mouse over picture and right click show suitable context menu.
Resize worked for me. When I selected it.

I do not understand Your question else Your K-Meleon is brocken.
(Gecko is Gecko - it will normally work for K-Meleon if it works for another such as Firefox).
