@caktus,
I haven't installed Ubuntu from within XP, it's in separated ext3 partitions.
XP isn't able to see and open theses partitions, and if I think Windows is slow, it's due to Windows and anti-virus program.
No, the problem I have had was about ISDN connection (it's now solved, but with some unnoying and undesired hangups), and a problem to set extended desktop with a Matrox G550 (not yet solved).
I will probably keep my Windows partition a few time, to use some softwares I haven't found under Linux, but I rarely launch XP now.
I'm trying to use these software with wine, and I have also some problems to use it installed in the Linux File system. With some more experience, I think I'll use it correctly, but for now, it's the only reason to keep Windows partition.
For now, I use K-Meleon 1.1.5 under Linux with wine, with some little restrictions and bugs, but it works really correctly, and as fast as Ubuntu Firefox 3 install.
I'm testing some other windows programs and a lot of what I want to use are working.
I haven't tried Ubuntu installed within windows partitions, and I don't think it's a good idea. I wouldn't be sure to keep Ubuntu partitions integrity, and it's more accurate with IE7 problems.
Viruses are for Windows, What AIDS is for love.
We need to protect us, but we don't find it as good as without protections ...
Linux doesn't need protection. Use Linux, and put Windows in the trash
