@ Kay:
This works fine to me.
Please report more info about your crash; Windows version, screen capture with error, Preferences changed, if you are using some language localization, ...
I just downloaded the 1.5beta, and unizp the put it in the same folder as 1.1.5. I kept the 1.1.5 open and tried to start 1.5beta and it got opened in 1.1.5 instance as a tab.
When I clicked on 'ClearAll', no error came out this time.
Thank you again. I will report it here it the error happens again.

Really a bad idea.
1) I suppose K-Meleon.exe haven't been extracted (probably an error message appears).
2) if you open K-Meleon and the same or another version is already opened, the opened version just add the last launching in a new tab (or layer)
By unzipping in the same folder, you have broken your 1.1.6 install and the 1.5b0 is not correctly installed. More, it's obvious that the profile has been damaged (not if the profile isn't located in the same folder).
Make a correct install, and test again. Don't forget before launching it, to look for the profiles location (is there an profile.ini in k-meleon folder).
If you had installed 1.1.5 by default and with setup, profile.ini if present have been put when unzipping 1.5b0, and 1.1.5 profile haven't been damaged.

I got a lot of crashes with the 1.5 beta, whenever there are more than 15-20 bookmarks (the netscape bookmark plugin). If I remove one or two links from the bookmarks.html, it'd work again.
I don't have any crash to report, just unpleasant behaviour after it.
That is, K-Meleon is loosing its profile.js file. Looks like that happens after power failure (or anything else), file get corrupted and K-Meleon automatically went to create new one. (Sending my groups and individual setting to the heaven.)
I would prefer if it could ask before doing such.
(K-Meleon 1.1.5)
Your setting don't lost, only a new profile is created and used because old profile isn't usable. You can rescue your old profile setting manually.
In you K-Meleon "Profiles" folder you must have two profiles folders "<random>.slt", old and new profiles.
Almost you can download Backup Profile Extension from Extensions Page.
@zelgon: This is a known issue that is already fixed for km 1.5. When km does not exit properly (due to a crash, a Windows crash, a power failure, ...) the pointer to your profile gets damaged - not the profile itself. At next start, km cannot find your old profile (which still exists) and thus creates a new one. For recovery, open Edit > Configuration > Profile Directory. Go up one directory level. There should be two ???.slt folders now. Find out which is what and copy the files from the old to the new folder.
Sorry, desga2 - didn't notice your post.

The page with the extensions looks mighty. I will try it.
No, sorry. Here's isn't any other "unused" profile left.(only one directory with my current profile something.slt) Old prefs.js file get lost and new just placed in its place, preventing the recovery. I have some old backup but I'm loosing groups and last session. That's pretty bad. (Fortunatelly history survived it, no hassles.)
PS ProfileBackup looks like it can proceed a manual backup, I would need autobackup. Is it working in this way too?
It does backup only bookmarks, as far as I can see.
Well, doesn't matter I will probably use some other metod. Still it would be best, if cared directly by K-Meleon. (Cause I can do only regular back aka CRON style.)
Oh, yep. It can do that, perfect.
(It's only not set by default. Silly me, not having time to check profile backup settings till now. In fact didn't expected so rich configuration dialog here. Plus for the extension.)
This will copy everything in your profile to an alternate location. Just make sure you choose a location not inside your KM folder. It is on-demand only. You run the macro and it sets a flag such that when you next stop KM the copy will occur. The only thing ResProfile will miss are any changes you make to a skin.
@Klaus
Or as an prevention you can use profileBackup extension. It will backup once per day, as far as one week back.
(Of course, pick your own choices. In Preferences are stored your groups.)
Here's an image:
I would almost say, that this is an obligatory extension for 1.1.x line.
Hi there,
I have a bug with Kmeleon continually crashing...
It happens when I open more tabs than the screen width,
which I do occassionally, then it just freezes and I
have to close it all down (session recovery works though!)
But it's still a pain. Could be a conflict with Vista,
but still, Firefox doesn't crash when I do this so it's
not the Gecko engine I'm guessing...
I am running 1.5.1 and I think I upgraded from 1.1.5,
but I was definitely not getting this problem with that
version and I kind of regret upgrading because of it.
Thanks.
kevinnn's image is outdate or deleted by server.
I saw it, was a big screen capture in chinesse or japanese, with an google search and K-Meleon crash error message.
that moment, the opened webpages aren't available(ie. you can't do anything) ,you must press the button of "调试( Debug)“ or " 关闭( close) ”.once you press either of the buttons, the km1.5.1 is closed immediately & completely.
thanks guenter, your hint about flash helped me a lot.
I had some 9.x flash version installed and www.bild.de crashed directly when loading the main page, now I updated to version 10 and everything is fine.

I opened 10~11 tabs. Most in k-meleon forum.
I coudn't load any new page or refresh other tabs.(when my other programs could use internet connection)
Things like this happen with IE too, sometimes. but never crash IE.
It happend with k-meleon 2 or 3 times(it' very often, in 2~3 days), but this is the 1st time that it crashes:
'When opening new tab - Display a blank page' was checked in Preference before crash. so when I opened a new tab it showed a blank page, but the blue box(the logo, as with Netscape, IE, FF..., it moves when you load a page.) was loading, not normal.. did it again, again.. and it was always. And I moved to another tab, with a page in km forum loaded, and I clicked a link(or typed a url, don't remember ..) and it crashed.

Crashes the computer - other programs can't take focus, can't shut down, 3 finger salute is only way out. Javascript on or off makes no difference. Crashreport plugin doesn't seem to do anything or save anything that I can find. I did notice a file in the root of C:, "scope," but it's just a long list of files, no core dump or register list or anything of the sort.
Off By One browser displays the page fully but not quite formatted correctly (I don't think it's a css aware browser). Haven't tried IE and don't plan to, sorry.
I tried to file a crash report with the suggested form, but it complained "not a zip file." No idea whether the report went thorough.
